To start, it was a slow welcome and drink order. Once meals were ordered two of the three dishes were delivered, and the third came about 20+minutes later. My 3 chicken tacos were cute but very small-think appetizer. Without the salsa verde they would have been quite bland. The vegan sushi rolls had an aioli sauce on top (eggs are not vegan). I think they knew things weren't great, as the owner came out to make small talk whilst delivering the hearty check. ***Edit*** I should have been more solution based: If there is a timing issue with food preparation, that should be adjusted in the kitchen, the customers should not have to deal with the situation. read more

What a gem. We are locals and have been waiting for just the right time to come by and get to know the menu. We were a bit worried when we sat down at the counter and realized how busy they were becoming on a Wednesday night, especially since there was only one waitress on. The place gets busy so make sure you are patient. The sushi is decent but I am holding it to a higher west coast standard. It seems to be a family run business which I really like. The music playing through the Vizio tv was a bit much for me and other of those around us. I am not into social distortion or punk music. We only ate sushi but we saw some gorgeous taco plates come out of the kitchen. This place is on the pricey side. They have an extensive Sake menu but do not show descriptions or pricing. The staff were rude and clearly wanted us to leave. My fiancé and I were seated around 7:45 pm on a saturday night (the closing time was 9pm) and we felt rushed the whole time we were there. Our server was pretty terse and some other workers there were not very subtly grumbling about us being that last people in there around 8:15 pm. If you want people to be out of your business earlier, then post an earlier closing time. The food was okay but it made my fiancé quite sick afterward (we both ate the same meals the whole day except for our dinner here). Our experience was disappointing and in no way did we feel welcome there. For that reason, I cannot recommend patronizing this business. Editing in order to comment on the owner's prompt response to my review. I ate a couple bites of rice off of her mostly empty plate and did not get sick. I am glad for that. A different experience than we thought it would be. It's not your typical sushi atmosphere. There was classic rock music playing. (Which is my jam). It seemed to be a family owned business and all were involved. Including their two young kids (maybe 9 & 12?) who sat us and brought us water. My chef husband & I loved that because as kids, we both worked in our family's cafes. At first we ordered 2 sushi rolls and an order of pork tacos with Spanish rice. Everything was delicious and very fresh. So, we decided to order their sushi nachos too! Home run! We are just visiting Maine for the Summer, and I think we will be back here again before heading home. Talk about a great roll of sushi in Maine! The sushi was by far the most fresh sushi i've had. Blackberry Margarita is a delicious treat to add on. The resturant itself is quant and cute, we waited for a table for about 15 minutes but it seemed like they moved people in and out very fast. During our dinner there seemed to be only 1 waitress which was so heartbreaking you could tell she was in a rush, I think if there were more staff we would have had a more relaxed / less rushed meal there. My mom and I just arrived to our cabin that day for a relaxing vacation before school started and we wanted to try something new so I googled places and found Elevation Sushi. We walked into a cute atmosphere with The Incredibles 2 playing on the TV screen (we're huge animation fans so yay!). It was the end of the summer season and on the early side for dinner so we lucked out in that they weren't that busy, allowing the owners, the mom (who also served us) and the sushi chef (the son of the family) behind the bar to chat with everyone and give advice on what to try. There was a game on every the table (cute touch!) but we didn't have time to figure out how to play our Gamewright Game because our food came so fast. We'd had a hard time deciding between the creative variety of rolls but I landed on the Elevation and my mom ordered the Deep Sea Diver (? I think, that's what it was called). So good! Both were fresh and tasty and nice sized rolls. We are definitely looking forward to coming back so I'm rooting for Elevation and the talented, down-to-earth family who own/run it. They seem to care about the quality of the food as well as the experience and Bridgton needs a great sushi place! read more

As a sushi / sashimi addict, I couldn't be more complimentary of virtually everything Japanese on their menu! My family of four can't go there without getting at least two orders of Oogie Boogie rolls, and two Rainbow rolls which are EXCELLENT. Awesome. The best! I wish everywhere had the Oogie Boogie. The Sebastian roll was very good too. Tonight we dragged along three neighbors ... so we seven people ended up ordering around 15 or 16 rolls (not hand rolls) as - with repeated Oogie Boogie, Rainbow, and Paradise rolls. The only critique I had about tonight was that the spicy tuna hand roll wasn't spicy enough... but that's what the wasabi is for! To drink, the Long Island Iced Tea was ordered twice by a good friend who's a connoisseur of Long Island Iced Teas. My boyfriend and I came on a Tuesday night and split a few sushi rolls and tacos. The food was amazing- arguably better than some of the pricier options in nearby Portland. And for someone that has an aversion to cilantro, I was at first weary of some of the SoCal inspired street tacos; however, our server and owner was quick to reassure me that it could easily be omitted. The menu is limited for people who don't like sushi or fish in general. You have a few options of tacos and that's it because even the nachos are sushi nachos. It would be nice to see some other nacho options or an appetizer for people who don't like sushi other than chips and salsa. My bf said his sushi was really good and he enjoyed his tacos as well. He wasn't a fan of the salsa (said it was like a thick paste instead of salsa) but I liked it. I also enjoyed my steak tacos but I preferred the hot sauce he had instead of the ones that came with my tacos. I also didn't love the rice. It was okay and edible but I have had better rice. The sushi rolls were good, though my spicy tuna roll had chopped raw jalepnos instead of a sauce, which I wasn't expecting. The tacos were tiny in portion and bland. Just meat alone on tiny taco shells. The chips and salsa seemed store bought, with not enough of the salsa for the chips, and the chips likely from the bottom of a bag of hannaford tortilla chip rounds, mostly broken. The quesadilla was small and not flavorful. The service and general mood was pretty flat and cursory. No asking if we needed anything else or offer of desert. Honestly, not great. Wow! We've been waiting since they opened to try Elevation and it did not disappoint! I don't eat seafood but my husband craves sushi so the menu was perfect for both of us. He said it was the best sushi/sashimi he's ever had and was not expecting such a high-end experience right here in Bridgton! The carne asada tacos were the real deal. Three small, fresh, soft corn tortillas, pieces of flavorful carne asada, onions and micro greens, side of hot sauce and seasoned rice. Fantastic! Visited Elevation Sushi and Tacos for the second time earlier this week and I'm ready to review. I was excited for this place to open when it was announced and it does not disappoint. The atmosphere is great, a chill, friendly vibe. My partner and I chatted with the owners, learned that they came here from California, and we are glad they did. The sushi is excellent. I'm pregnant, so I am only allowed cooked (or mostly cooked) options at this point but I can tell you the options were delicious. The Oogie Boogie Roll is a favorite. My partner had never tried sushi when we ventured there for the first time, and I'm so glad this was his first experience. The problem is, I've created a monster who wants sushi all the time now. We took the kid with us this week, a highly picky 15yo who scoffs at the notion of new food, and he tried and loved the rolls we ordered. We devoured the Baked Salmon roll and two Oogie Boogie rolls. We have yet to try any of the tacos or other options, but I have no doubt they will be delicious. Our only complaint is that they are closed on BOTH if my partner's nights off from work (Wednesday and Sunday). We can't wait to try to be regulars. read more

I decided to come here twice because I didn't want to base an entire review on one sushi roll and a single sake. But the food is phenomenal. I have loved everything I've had. The teriyaki beef bowl sounded basic, but it's so delicious, the rice was a really great consistency and the beef and green onions, OMG I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Every sushi roll we've gotten has been fresh and delicious. I tried both of the spicier rolls - the Bear Roll which had hot sauce and sliced jalapenos on top, and the Lightning McQueen which was incredibly spicy, the spicier of the two by far. But I loved both of them, the Lightning McQueen had asparagus in it which was different. The first time we went they had no lobster, and we were sort of confused because it hadn't even been dinner time yet, so I was happy to see that it wasn't something that was typical. But they were out of gyoza both times which we were sad about. The first time we went there were only six of us in total at the restaurant, the service was great, we were in and out in 45 minutes actually. The second time the place was packed, they had a younger kid helping out who was doing a great job, but there was a lot of waiting. Again the food was amazing, so we didn't mind a little bit of a wait, and we also had to wait a bit of a time afterwards to get our check and get out of there, but she was very busy, I just think she needs more help. The second time we went we had the option of replacing any of the imitation crab with snow crab, so my husband got a spicy California roll with the snow crab, and he really liked it, the hot sauce on top was perfect. The only issue I really had overall was that the owner had recommended a sake to me, and I just said sure, and then I saw on the bill that it was $23.99. I don't know that I would have ordered a 23.99 sake. But that's my own fault for not looking at the menu when he said the name. They have plenty of other drinks, I heard somebody else order a habanero margarita, and she said that it was going to have a spicy salt on the rim, that sounds yum. But they also have different flavored margaritas, tons of beer and wine and sake. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back again. I haven't tried the tacos yet, but they sound really good, so that's what I'm going to try next time. Worst sushi I have ever had... Sushi at the grocery store is better. The staff were the rudest people I have ever met, even down to the chef. The sushi chef was drinking a Corona beer on the job. I would NEVER come back here ever. Food is gross, atmosphere is terrible and staff are so up tight. Cook came out and complained they were the only chef here as if it is our fault? We can tell.... Waiting to get our check so we can leave and never come back. Couldn't wait to even leave to write this review. Had to send back 4 meals because they you couldn't even eat them. Ramen and beef teriyaki were disgusting. EDIT: We had reservations at 6:30. Server didn't come over for 25+ minutes. Once she did it took an additional 10+ minutes to even our drinks. A good portion of Sushi from the apps and dinner were left on the table and weren't eaten. Our food took so long that the finally once the waitress handed us the meal she stated "I don't know what is going on in the kitchen, I had to make this myself".... How are we supposed to take that? Communication between employees needs to be worked out.... I understand being understaffed and busy but being rude to customers is where it's unacceptable. Drinking on the job is also totally unacceptable, how do you allow you only sushi chef to open chug beer? That's so unprofessional. We are understanding people and would have had no issue waiting if employees were kind and the food was actually edible. Not to mention, I know for a fact we weren't the only table with food issues. The tables directly next to us was complaining of chewy meat and raw food (that wasn't sushi). Best place to come is this ! Friendly staff and though it might be a wait, it's worth ever minute! We had a wonderful meal! Though there was a booth with very rude people ! Great sushi, but they need a better business model, because we will only eat there under certain circumstances. Food: very good. Sushi nachos is one of the most unique we've ever had. Rolls are fresh and interesting and yummy. But here's why we would go, only under certain terms: Serving/Charging policies: 1. Take out: they tell you some vague time, and if the "chef" feels like he wants to do takeout, maybe 12-1 if you're lucky. Then they add a 10% surcharge for you to NOT be served, just pick up. 2. Credit card: it says on the menu that they add a surcharge on a certain amount. Our sit down order was over $100. They added the surcharge. When asked, they said they add it to ALL cc charges. Make that clear please! Staff: can be rude and snarky as in, they don't care about the above, or anything else for that matter. So, we will only go to sit down, and pay in cash. Tip will be accordingly in parallel to staff attitude. read more
