We stopped in here for a late lunch the other day. The service was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. We ordered our food at the counter and waited a shirt time for the food. We ordered a chicken basket, a haddock and chicken combo basket, a small onion rings and a cup of seafood chowder. We enjoyed all of it! You will find this unassuming seafood restaurant in the back of a strip mall off center street. Service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable. Not many people dining in on a Wednesday but it has the feel of a take out joint, so that Might be why. ( there is a small dining area with several tables and a few booths. I chose a lighter portion of a fried seafood combo. Drinks are available in a cooler ( no ice... ah, well) . The seafood was cooked perfectly, fish melted in your mouth, whole belly clams were flavorful and the crisp batter was a delight. Tartar sauce is served in a squeeze bottle and it didn't disappoint. They only have white chicken breast which is not my favorite for fried chicken meals. But the nuggets/tenders and other food is excellent and served to order and hot . For me, definitely a take out spot. read more

If you are someone who enjoys the Old Orchard style fried foods you get at and around the pier then this is the place for you. They are located just inside the same strip mall as Roak the Flourist. They have about a dozen or so tables but you can watch them as they prepare and cook your food. The staff is very friendly and they have earned several food awards and been recognized by the city for their success. I love the clam strip latter. When taken to go it comes in a good size box piled high with clam strips, a dinner roll, lots of french fries, and the sauces to go with it all. You have to have an appetite to finish a single basket serving. Their chicken finger platter is good as well. All in all this place is a great stop if you want your fried food or sea food fix for a quick and on-the-go experience. I would highly recommend you try it out. read more

Passing by today and thought" it has been awhile" so I stopped in and grabbed one of my old favorites mixed seafood . The clams looked and tasted like they were refried from a batch done earlier in the week. Nearly burned. The shrimp and scallops not as bad but also seemed to be leftovers from another day. The haddock may have been fresh but my tastbuds were screaming at me from the abuse of the other trash that I had put on them that I can't be sure. Hoping this is not the norm that KP's has become. Had the scallop dinner, it was good although scallops were slightly undercooked. I wanted coleslaw but learned it didnt come with the dinner (basket). Had a cold and dried out dinner roll instead of slaw included, would rather see them include the coleslaw. Anyway bought a side of slow for a dollar something. Cant beat the base price of the basket though. Just wish they had the ocean with tables behind them. My guilty pleasure: fried food. While visiting, I wanted to try out how the local Mainers do it. I got the 1/2 shrimp and Haddock. It was less oily than expected, which is a huge plus. The serving is generous. Employees are nice and friendly. All in all, great food with less of the guilt. read more

Always hot and the freshest fried chicken in town! Can't be the price on that family meal anywhere else in the State!

I wanted to like this place, but there was not much redeeming quality to the fish and chips I ordered. Maybe it was because I walked in 30 minutes before their closing, but whatever the reason might be, the fries were seriously overcooked and hard. They were possibly some leftovers from earlier that were reheated. Needless to say, haddock pieces were dry and lacked flavor. In Maine, you can do a whole lot better. read more

I was in Auburn for a conference and the desk clerk said there was only one place to go for a lobster roll- KP's. I wasn't the only one in my party who wanted Maine lobster. Several had the roll. It was VERY tasty. A quarter-pound of lobster on a perfectly toasted roll. Simply and expertly done. I also had their clam chowder. Perfect. Others in my party had the Haddock Sandwich and the Maine Shrimp plate. Smiles all around! KP's is the real deal. If I'm ever back in Auburn I will be returning for sure. read more

Was looking for a new place to have seafood . Had read many good reviews here and on Facebook. So we decided to give it a go . We got there at about 5 pm . You walk in , take a menu order at the counter . Dine in or takeout . Woman at counter was friendly . Only one couple in the whole place . We should have turned around and walked but we didn't . The place seemed clean . We both ordered the seafood basket . We ordered it with onion rings for $1.25 extra . I was nervous about going when I found out the used frozen pre made French fries but I normally get onion rings so not a big deal I thought . While our order is being fried , you can hear and see the cook coughing and coughing and coughing . I'm hoping it's not all over my food . Gross . By the way the kitchen is right where you eat . You can see and hear everything and I mean everything . So the pleasant woman brought the food to the table on a tray which had the baskets , tarter sauce , 2 small dishes which had a plastic container for the tarter sauce and one square of butter . I could not find the roll so I went to the counter and asked about the missing rolls . She said they were under the food in the basket . I thought that was very strange . Plenty of room on the tray . I have never seen such a thing . So by the time I got to the roll it was all greasy . It's used as a filler to give you less food . Most of our baskets was tiny shrimp . A few finger like haddock , which at first I could not identify . I have never seen haddock like that ! I think it was frozen and cut and breaded then fried . The clams were flavorless and the breading was falling off. I've never seen that either . The seafood was flavorless and I'd question the freshness . To all the people who have written that this is the best seafood they have ever eaten , where the heck have you been eating ? This is my opinion and my own experience . My go-to for fried chicken. They have mastered how to make the batter sweet and salty. The chicken is also moist and not dry. It's consistent every time and the standard to which I hold chicken fingers to. I can't comment on the rest of the menu because I can't help but get the same thing. read more

I got the shrimp basket and it was huge. The shrimp were good, but the fries were very bland - no seasoning at all. The big problem is they only gave me one small container of tartar sauce, not nearly enough for all the shrimp. They gave me four packets of ketchup, and I didn't even ask for that. I would have preferred the roll in a separate container from the fried food, and maybe some butter would have been nice...And apparently they don't understand the concept of curbside pickup cause I still had to go inside to get the food even though I specifically asked if they did curbside pickup. And when I went inside almost no one was wearing a mask, including the gentleman doing the cooking - made me nervous. read more

Found this little gem tucked away in a shopping plaza. The food was fresh, delicious and supplied in great portions! The prices were also very reasonable. The tomato was a little It soggy but it's almost January so that's understandable. I was impressed that a grilled fish option was available although next time I may ask for extra blackening seasonings on the haddock sandwich. Ordered 2 of the chicken baskets. What a mess. It was chunks of chicken thrown in a box. Also subbed in onion rings for fries. I saw them take the onion rings out of a freezer. The bag wasn't tied so they were all white and clearly freezer burned. No taste to the onion rings and I wasn't surprised because that's freezer burned food tastes like. The chicken was bland, tasteless and overcooked. KFC does a better job at chicken than this place and it costs much less!. Never again! read more
