I used Angela from Lucie Marie as both my makeup and hair stylist for my wedding this past week, and I could not be happier with the way I looked! My airbrushed makeup looked flawless and held the entire night, and my hair was exactly what I had wanted (although it didn't stay up the entire time, due to the amount of dancing we did). Angela was very professional and had a great attitude and sense of humor throughout both the trial and the actual wedding day. She was honest yet patient with me and my hard to please mother, and tried various different styles to make us happy. Angela and her assistant also did my bridesmaids' hair and makeup, and overall they were very satisfied with things. However, a few girls did not like the way something was done and had to fix it on their own at the venue. Angela's salon is inside Michelle's Patisserie, which was a little confusing and unclear at first, but the setup is nice and professional. She came on location to do all of our hair and makeup on the day of the wedding, and was there early to set up everything. She and her assistant stayed on track and managed to give 11 hairstyles, 9 makeup applications, and 4 sets of false eyelashes within the 6 hour time limit- wow! A few things to note: - Email is the best way to get in contact with her- my mom and I called and left a few messages but didn't hear back until I emailed. - Make sure to tell your bridesmaids to have pictures of what they would like for their hair as well as makeup to avoid any unhappy bridesmaids. -As a bride, don't be afraid to tell her what you want fixed- any corrections are helpful and she does not take offense. read more

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about LucieMarie. They travel to your location to do your on-site hair and makeup and were awesome last weekend at my sister's wedding (they were hired for the bridal party, mother of the bride, and flower girl). They'll do whatever you want, or you can give them an abstract idea and they'll make it come to life for you. What they did with my waist-length hair was nothing short of amazing. My hard to please mother received compliments all night - they made her look and feel beautiful, too - a lovely updo and very natural looking, pretty makeup. They'll come out to Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, San Antonio...Houston, DFW... To come out to the Horseshoe Bay/Marble Falls/Round Mountain area, it only cost an additional $40 total. They'll pretty much travel anywhere, actually, if you pay for the travel costs/time involved. We were so happy with the results that we want to contact them with the hairstyling products and appliances they use. My mom wants to know what makeup they use and wishes she was facing a mirror when they did her makeup so she can recreate it. Maybe I'll splurge on a gift to send them out to Houston sometime -- and give her a makeover and "class". Although I cried at the wedding ceremony, my makeup stayed perfect. The mascara and eyeliner were super waterproof, but yet at the end of the night, it was almost too easy to take off with a little eye makeup remover and a cotton ball. And my lip stain + gloss stayed on for several hours. I didn't even know it was possible without using that 8-hour liquid stuff with top coat... They also provide emergency after hours services for those home jobs that have gone awry - if you leave a message, they'll get back to you ASAP. Anyway, HIGHLY recommended! read more

Pros - Was able to come in somewhat last minute to our location (outside of Austin). We booked about a month and a half out. - Was able to do hair and makeup for large parties (bridesmaid, MOB, flower girl) - Uses nice, effective products (bareMinerals, Hourglass etc.) - Comes prepared with tools and assistant to help the flow of things Cons - A little confrontational with some of us regarding what we wanted done for hair and makeup - Day of scheduling was a little all over the place and we actually finished up early but had been felt a little rushed to get ready that morning. - A little hard to get in contact with her. We could only email and it took a day or two for response. Overall: Great for those who don't want that super formal look, but something a little more relax and bohemian. Would highly suggest setting up a trial so you are on the same page about your look, schedule, and details. The team is great and attentive, however I would have done a few things differently had there been more time and chance for conversation. (I sent a mood board prior, but we didn't really talk too much about colors and how much makeup I wear day to day, which could have helped.) read more

Let me start by saying that I am notoriously picky about my hair and makeup -- every time I've ever gotten my hair or makeup done, there were usually tears, and I usually ended up showering to start over! #dramatic. Then Angela came into my life. She NAILED IT for my trial, and NAILED IT on my wedding day. She is funny, nice, charismatic and made me feel relaxed and happy. Angela is awesome. I needed to find someone who could do hair and makeup and would travel to my venue (about 1.5 hours outside of Austin) for my wedding this past month. I was really drawn to how soft her makeup looked; I wanted to look like the best version of myself on my wedding day, not extremely made-up. Angela was quick on email and did an amazing test run for me, so I was sold. I really appreciated how flexible and patient Angela was while I figured out the day-of schedule and finalized the list of women getting hair and makeup done leading up to the wedding. On my wedding day, Angela and her assistant showed up with a fun playlist and great vibe. They made getting ready fun and kept the atmosphere lively. And everyone loved their hair and makeup! It ended up being an extremely windy and rainy day and all of our hair and makeup held up through the night. I didn't even need to re-apply my lipstick once! Thea did my trial run hair/makeup, as well as my day-of hair and makeup. The trial is a must, as I had already been through a couple of trials and wanted a more delicate touch. I'm also asian, and getting the makeup down without it feeling/looking heavy can be difficult. Thea was awesome and listened patiently; we focused mainly on the eyeliner, which was very important to me. I did hair and makeup on separate days, and we were able to pinpoint a great look. I also had difficulty describing what I wanted, and Thea was able to guide me in the right direction. I received so many compliments on my makeup the day of, and the application was flawless. I think the day-of was even better than the trial (and she was even working on a time crunch)! Thea also did my bridesmaid's makeup and hair, and they all looked great. My hair grows quickly, and between the trial and the wedding day (~3 weeks in between, if even) I had a LOT more hair and she was able to improvise. I couldn't have done it without her! read more

I had been looking for a hair and make-up artist for a photoshoot and contacted Lucie Marie. (I was talking to Angela Parker) First of all, I would e-mail and not get a response until night then respond in the morning and again not get a response until night. Very frustrating and slow when trying to make plans. So it goes like that for a few days and she knew when my pictures were because it had been mentioned. Thursday I e-mail and say "ok well I would love your help on Monday morning, if you're still available!" and gave her the two locations I was deciding on and again when the shoot was on Monday morning, and my phone number if she needed it for any reason. She gets back to me over 24 hours later and says she can definitely help and to just let her know where so we can plan on an actual time. (I assume this is an agreement.) On Sunday morning I get the location figured out and e-mail her right away. I don't hear back all day so in the evening I call and don't get an answer and then e-mail again to try and get it all squared away so I know when I need to get up in the morning. Finally I hear back from her at almost 10:00 at night and she says she didn't know it was official and that she wont be available in the morning because she can't get a babysitting that quick. So here I was thinking it was set and I would have hair and make-up for this photo shoot but I was left with nothing and no time to find anyone else. You'd think someone who wanted business, or cared, would have contacted the potential client before it was too late, if she was so unsure.... she had my number. HORRIBLY disappointed. read more

I was actually disappointed with my experience. It was my wedding day and she had a horrible personality and made the entire bridal suite uncomfortable. A little friendliness and a smile go a long way! My hair was o.k. But not exactly what I asked for. And my makeup was messed up! One of my eyes had way more eyeshadow and was not evened out the same. It shows in pictures. I will say it was convenient to have her come on location but I wouldn't recommend. Everything happens so fast on your wedding day that I didn't even have a chance to say anything. I didn't want to give a bad review however thinking back on my wedding day.. Angela and two of her assistants came. One of the assistants, they said, was found off craiglists shortly before my friend's WEDDING. That assistant was rude and didn't do anything the girls and I asked for. They told us to bring photos and without looking or really paying attention, she said "okay so you want the same thing as the others" even though it wasn't the case. And she tried using regular foundation when we paid for spray-foundation. Overall, it was rushed and the "artists" were rude. I would never ever book them again. I had to fix my own makeup because I looked like a pornstar. And also, don't book them unless you want curved eyebrows. I don't know where they went to beauty school but not everyone has curved eyebrows. Look at their lookbook if you don't believe me. And heads up to brides, Angela does hair, not makeup. She only did the bride's makeup and left the bridesmaids will some rando from craiglists. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. **They also don't clean their brushes in between girls. DISGUSTING! read more

I highly recommend LucieMarie - Angela did a fantastic job with my hair and makeup. I kind of half explained what I wanted on my hair trial, and she was able to interpret what I asked for and my hair turned out even more perfect that I could have imagined. And my makeup stayed amazing looking throughout our mid summer wedding and all evening. She did the hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and both Moms, and everyone was so happy with their look. I recommend Lucie Marie to anyone wanting great hair and makeup for any type of special occasion or photoshoot!! I absolutely loved my hair and makeup for my wedding! I met Angela for a hair trial, knowing I wanted an updo or half up, something that was loose and wavy. Other than that description and a few pins from Pinterest, I placed my hair in her expert hands. We played around with a few different variations until we found one I absolutely loved. I was also worried about wedding makeup in general, because I am fair and I don't wear very much makeup in my day to day life. I didn't want to walk down the aisle looking cakey, or like a scary clown version of myself. I didn't want my guests to think " she was beautiful, but she didn't look like herself". Angela's pictures on her website put me at ease, because I saw that her style was very versatile , and could easily accommodate my wishes- to make me look beautiful and natural. On my wedding day, she came over to my house with an assistant that would prep or curl my bridesmaids' hair while waiting for the person in front of them to finish getting their hair styled by Angela. It was very efficient, and they stayed well within the time frame, so there was no frantic running around at the last minute. I felt calm and at ease in their hands. The end product took my breath away- I have never felt so beautiful in my life! luciemarie was recommended to us by the wonderful ladies of our venue (the winfield inn -- also fantastic!). i went out for a hair and makeup trial and was very pleased with what angela did, so i booked her right away. she and her colleague chelsea came out to the winfield on the day of my wedding and did lovely hair and makeup for myself, 5 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, and 2 flower girls. angela not only does great work, but she's also got a great dry sense of humor, so we all had fun hanging out together! and everyone was pleased with the looks she created. . . including my hard-to-please mother who has thinning hair -- angela assured her she was up for the challenge, and did not disappoint! luciemarie was great!! read more
