Beignets
Daniel C.

I'm a New Orleans Saints fan that has yet to go to Louisiana. Always crave creole food to get a taste of the city I yearn for. This is the spot. Great breakfast. Great service. The beignets? fuck me up. Felt like I was transported to a local diner in Bourbon street. The best brunch in Fort Collins...the most flavor in Fort Collins (u know what I mean?)

For starters, the yellow little house is adorable. The inside feels so fun and the service is great. The patio seems like it would be amazing in good weather. I like the different breakfast items that's are possible in this place. I got the Cajun breakfast and it was a different combination of eggs and red beans (which I enjoyed) the biscuit was HUGE and the strawberry preserves were delicious. Everyone said excellent things about their meal and it was a favorite place that visiting folks ate at.

Bangers all over the menu. Legit po boy, awesome fries. Hard to choose since everything looks so good. Will be back to make my way through the menu. Next time I'll hit up one of the Benny's.

Lucile's is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Fort Collins and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this. Lucile's proves quality and quantity can coexist beautifully. The portions here are generous without sacrificing quality and taste. The food is always flavorful and prepared as ordered. The beignets are served hot and fresh and heavily dusted with powdered sugar. The beignets are a must! My favorite dish to order is the cajun omelette with potatoes. The omelette comes with spicy sausage and diced ham in creole sauce. You have a choice of grits or potatoes. Pro tip: Add their creole seasoning to your meal for an added flavor kick. It also comes with a buttermilk biscuit with their homemade jam. The restaurant is very quaint and has a homey vibe. You'll find Mardi Gras beads and Creole posters/memorabilia throughout the restaurant reminding you of its roots and culture. Of course, I'd love for the space to be a little bigger, but for the most part, it's manageable. The space is small and it does get busy so expect a wait. Service is great also. Everyone is friendly and attentive. We asked for our beignets to be served after our meal and our server remembered. She refiled our coffee consistently and checked on us periodically. Definitely check out Lucile's if you've never tried it. Highly recommend!

Go here if you're in Fort Collins. Best meal I've had in a while. Fairly packed when we arrived for brunch, but we were seated within a few minutes - it was a Tuesday. Our server was attentive and efficient (without hovering), while we decided on our food. We struggled on if we wanted breakfasty dishes or lunch. I advise both. Don't miss out on the beignets! Also, chicory coffee. We splurged on some very tasty fresh squeezed OJ. On the savory side - Gumbo, collards and cornbread were all delicious.

Warm Fresh Beignets and freshly squeezed orange juice

The highlight of my visit to this restaurant was definitely the beignets. You have to order them, they serve them fresh and warm and they're absolutely delicious. The freshly squeezed orange juice was also really good and refreshing. For my entree, I got the Cajun Breakfast. I wasn't the biggest fan of the chili, but I really enjoyed the Cajun potatoes and poached eggs. The Pain Perdu was also good especially the French toast. It came with a hotlink and eggs. There's plenty of street parking, and the customer service was great. Our server was super friendly and checked in on us often.

Pain Perdu French toast. It was wonderful.

Such a lovely brunch spot. So cute in a little house. Very quaint with excellent food. Like going to grandma's house, only "cooler". Loved my French toast. And you have to order the beignets! Where else can you get light, fluffy fried dough dusted with powdered sugar? We go practically every time I visit Fort Collins, and we will be back!

Excellent food ! Excellent service! Excellent waiters! Love the biscuit and gravy ! Tried to replicate the recipe at home since it was so good!

Sweet treat

I was visiting from AZ and a friend brought me here. It was a lovely and quaint location, a house turned into a restaurant. Every room was charming and the bar area was fun looking. I had jalapeno cheese grits, a huge fresh baked biscuit and some eggs and hot sausage. It was all delish and that kept me so full until dinner. We also tried the seet treat. The waitstaff were very friendly and service was nice.

Creole Omelet

Absolutely and undoubtedly the best breakfast place I've been to in my life so far . I went there with my parents and we got the creole omelet, eggs ponchartrain, and eggs sardou which were all amazing. I did think there beignets were great but the biscuits you get with your meal made us rethink our sugary decision. Our Lucie was great and I truthfully loved that you could get their hot sauce and seasoning. So in summary if you're a tourist in Fort Collins, please stop here for breakfast.

Beignets

I enjoyed the diner. I sat up at the bar and service was fast and friendly. I got half order of beignets, those were good. Once I got my food, the fruit was fresh. The Louisiana sausage was little spicy but was good. Eggs cooked just right. And the French toast was good with their syrup. Different kind of syrup. Bit thicker. I loved the inside and outside. The music played, made ya feel like I was down in New Orleans and not Colorado.

We needed food and we needed a lot of it, so we headed to our favorite barbecue joint in town. Everyone at the counter was masked and gloved up, which is always a good start! I ordered the three meat platter with smoked chicken wings, brisket and pulled pork, selecting potato salad and baked beans as the sides. After a short wait, the huge tray was set down in front of us and we dug in. The smoked wings are some of the best wings I've had in Fort Collins! Tender, crispy and piping hot! The brisket was a little tougher than I had hoped, but still full of flavor. The pulled pork stole the show, however - juicy and falling apart on the plate with just the right amount of sizzling fat, drizzled with a sweet and slightly tangy barbecue sauce. Originally we had thought that we'd have leftovers to reheat at home but, as you can see, that didn't happen. We demolished the plates and ripped through the perfectly prepared potato salad and maple-sweet baked beans, then debated getting dessert. The debate was short and we rounded out the meal with a container of banana pudding that had notes of cinnamon and vanilla, topped traditionally with a Nilla wafer. Once the meat sweats stop (SO. MUCH. MEAT), we'll be heading back for another mountainous platter!

We got the chicken pot pie, quarter rotisserie chicken, and salmon quinoa cakes. Rotisserie chicken is a must order! Very juicy and delicious. We started with a beer for my husband and a mocktail for me. The mocktail (blueberry lemonade) was simply not worth the $7 price tag. Mostly ice - filled to the literal rim of the glass. So full when I took one of my first sips, ice fell to the floor. There was just a splash of ginger beer; it could've used more but, alas, no room with all that ice! When I mentioned it to the server, she explained that's how they make them. She offered to bring me another, but it seemed clear she meant I'd be paying for it. No thank you. Next, my food. I tried the salmon burger (new to the menu, I'm told) which is actually a salmon croquette on a bun with some lettuce and vinaigrette. It's HUGE and not in a good way. The first few bites were okay, and I thought the heavily breaded effect was due to biting into the edge. As I continued eating, though, most bites felt like a mouthful of bread. I can only hope there was minced salmon in it, but the ratio was so heavy on breadcrumbs that I couldn't detect it. Not the slightest hint of pink on the inside either. I ate about 1/2, my hungry hub finished it. The flaws of the salmon burger didn't seem worth pointing out to the server after the response I got with the drink. Later, as we walked around downtown, I felt like I had a lead sandwich in my stomach. My husband had a better experience than I. His bison burger came out great. No complaints. Unfortunately for me, I think I'll just have to order very specific things when coming here now. Austin's has sentimental value for me - it's the first place we dined after moving here 27 years ago. Because of that, I keep giving them second chances after they fall short. I just wish they'd return to the days of "you can't go wrong", everything is awesome.
