Corned beef hash. Real corned beef!
    Paul I.

Really good. Had the corned beef hash with eggs. Not corned beef hash from a can. Real corned beef with hash browns. Never seen this before and darn good. Cappuccino was really good as well. The jelly was real fruit strawberry jam. Neat restaurant. Clean. Good solid service. My waiter Edward was very good. In all, this is what using good ingredients does. Excellent. Shame I live in Chicago. I would love to come back and try more dishes. Well done!

All Natural Steak & Eggs Tamale Benedict

Urban egg is a cute spot. It's clean and has ample seating. Service was good, but mostly because of the hosts, the manager, and a nearby server. Our server wasn't very attentive. The manager stopped by after about 10 minutes of us being seated and not being greeted. She greeted us and moved us over to a booth. Another server nearby helped us more than our designated server. We ordered the tamale Benedict which is an open faced tamale, green chile, chorizo, hollandaise, paprika, and cotija. This was the best meal of the table! Definitely recommend. We also ordered the steak and eggs which is a top sirloin cap steak, roasted espresso butter, sautéed mushrooms and onions, 2 eggs, and loaded hashbrowns. I was really looking forward to the steak and eggs and it was disappointing. The steak was a little tough. The espresso butter on the steak did not vibe with the rest of the meal for me. I think a fresh chimichurri sauce on the steak removing the onions and mushrooms would've been a better option to pair with the loaded hashbrowns that are topped with jalapeños,green onions, bacon, melted cheese, and creme fraiche. I opted for scrambled eggs and maybe over medium eggs would've been better, but don't think it would've made too much of a flavor difference for me.

This place was fantastic. If you are looking at this, just go there. Everything on the menu is just a gourmet. Tweak of your typical breakfast. It makes it extra extraordinary. I highly recommend the pancake flight. See the picture. Amazing and there are three different types of pancakes. I had the omelette which was delicious. A biscuit and gravy on the side as well, which was really good Get this place a try. Our waitress was amazing. Friendly service, very attentive and Prompt.

Always have to stop in for my favorite breakfast in FoCo!! Chloe was fantastic in serving me at the bar today. I'm sure I'll be back once more before I leave

We had a delightful time enjoying breakfast at Urban Egg. It was clean and comfortable. The service was friendly. The food was good. The only room for improvement was with the waiting list process. Signed up via Yelp and got there at the estimated time. Signed in as directed when we got there and were told it would be another 15-20 minutes despite being second on the list. Not the end of the world but getting that right would have made this a five star review.

Friendly staff, And service was top notch especially on a very busy day Easter brunch. Will be having more Benedict's there again. The hot chicken Benedict was amazing. And the cinnamon rolls were perfect to share with the table.

Urban Egg is right in the middle of downtown Ft Collins- very conveniently located. We arrived around 7:30am on a Saturday during Focomx music festival, and it was dead, but by the time we left around 9, the place was popping, so get there early. My husband and I started with the Mocha, which tasted like hot chocolate powder mixed into coffee, but at least it was available in decaf. The manager was very helpful when my husband managed to spill his coffee everywhere, and our server filled his cup with some drip decaf, so the service was excellent. He was also good at assisting my friend in picking a meal that didn't have pork with it. The server also recommended the Tuscan Benedict, which was top notch- it had a balsamic reduction for a bit of sweetness, balanced by fresh basil and tomato and a toasted English muffin. The hashbrowns were crispier than I preferred, but the Benedict made up for it in spades. The biscuit and gravy had a similar problem, as the biscuit was crustier than I like, although the gravy was really good, with the sage making it unique. We really loved the local hot sauces and the house made ketchup. Overall, I would absolutely recommend and come back for the Benedict, and to try other dishes.

The food was good for a quick, healthy morning bite. It took a while to get seated and the restaurant seemed understaffed but the servers were nice. The restaurant was clean and well appointed.

Good, solid breakfast. Love that they use locally sourced stuff. Slightly like a school cafeteria vibe inside, though. Would come back again!

Eh. Over recent years, I've had very hit and miss experiences at the downtown Austin's. Yesterday…read morewas another disappointing miss. We stopped in for a late lunch, arriving around 2. We started with a beer for my husband and a mocktail for me. The mocktail (blueberry lemonade) was simply not worth the $7 price tag. Mostly ice - filled to the literal rim of the glass. So full when I took one of my first sips, ice fell to the floor. There was just a splash of ginger beer; it could've used more but, alas, no room with all that ice! When I mentioned it to the server, she explained that's how they make them. She offered to bring me another, but it seemed clear she meant I'd be paying for it. No thank you. Next, my food. I tried the salmon burger (new to the menu, I'm told) which is actually a salmon croquette on a bun with some lettuce and vinaigrette. It's HUGE and not in a good way. The first few bites were okay, and I thought the heavily breaded effect was due to biting into the edge. As I continued eating, though, most bites felt like a mouthful of bread. I can only hope there was minced salmon in it, but the ratio was so heavy on breadcrumbs that I couldn't detect it. Not the slightest hint of pink on the inside either. I ate about 1/2, my hungry hub finished it. The flaws of the salmon burger didn't seem worth pointing out to the server after the response I got with the drink. Later, as we walked around downtown, I felt like I had a lead sandwich in my stomach. My husband had a better experience than I. His bison burger came out great. No complaints. Unfortunately for me, I think I'll just have to order very specific things when coming here now. Austin's has sentimental value for me - it's the first place we dined after moving here 27 years ago. Because of that, I keep giving them second chances after they fall short. I just wish they'd return to the days of "you can't go wrong", everything is awesome.

They trimmed the bone end and pushed all the meat to the top. This made them less fatty and stringy, more crispy and delicious. Their short rib croquettes were also amazing. I'd never had a short ribs prepared this way stuffed inside a tasty pastry with potato and cheese. They are my new favorites. I was so full on appetizers that I went straight to dessert next and I have to say that their cookie dough creme brûlée. It wasn't too sugary and the cookie dough flavoring was not overpowering. Simply fantastic way to end a meal. I even took home their brownie and ice cream for my housemate. They said it was the best brownie they've ever had.

On the first trip I discovered Choice City Butcher and the best damn hamburgers I have ever had, anywhere, bar none. I returned for a burger pilgrimage at least once on every trip since. The vibe was casual (order at the counter/bar) and the beer selection was outstanding. This last year I went back for my yearly trip and was excited to introduce one of my colleagues to this place. As soon as I walked in, it all seemed different. The beer taps were gone, a waiter (!!) greeted us and seated us in a foofy feeling booth. I inquired about the changes and found that the ownership had changed recently. The menu was much more upscale feeling (though prices were relatively reasonable) and lacked the signature burgers I was looking forward to. Our order started with the brussels sprouts appetizer. Solid app. Very tasty and nicely roasted with a yummy aioli. My old fashioned was fine, but nothing special (I make a better one at home with $20 bottle bourbon). My main was their Horsetooth Burger (Chili Relleno burger) which was pretty disappointing. The patty itself looked and felt like it was frozen, not hand formed like the old ones. The Poblano was nearly tasteless and way too big for the bun. Overall the burger was very average and not very flavorful. In the long run, I was pretty disappointed in the food. Service, was great. Very attentive and friendly. Despite that, this will probably be my last visit to Choice City. I will mourn the loss of those amazing burgers for the rest of my life...
