Our second time here yesterday, first since moving to Colorado 3.5 years ago. We stopped in around 1:00 on a Sunday....definitely less crowded than our first visit here more than four years earlier. We were seated quickly, and service was prompt and friendly. While interested in the tuna sandwich, I was really hungry, so I got an omelette instead. As it turns out, judging by the size of my wife's chicken salad sandwich and fries, the tuna likely would've been plenty for me, and I'll try it on a future visit. My omelette (with cheese, spinach, mushrooms, and onions) was fine, but nothing unusual from an omelette you'd get elsewhere. Home fries and ciabatta toast were both really good too. Coffee was delicious. Speaking of the chicken salad sandwich, my wife enjoyed it on her first visit too and was equally impressed this time. Definitely a big sandwich. We travel to FoCo for a change of scenery every couple of months. This was a new spot for us. We had to wait over 20 minutes to get a seat, but knew that when we put our name on the list. Thankfully, it was a beautiful February day, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine while we waited. The restaurant isn't very big, so it's a little bit noisy. But the wallpaper is really beautiful and it fits the theme very well. Some of the things highlighted in other reviews include homemade bread and homemade hot sauce. I'm not a hot sauce eater, so I can't weigh in on that. The fresh bread was pretty awesome. The fresh jam was Cherry vanilla, which neither of us liked very much. It tasted too much like pie filling, and the texture was off. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak immensely. My breakfast, which included a large pancake, an egg and a link of sausage was priced at $10 which was an amazing price. Both of us went home with leftovers. Our server was friendly and attentive. She may have had a bit too much energy if I'm being honest, but I'd rather that than someone who is lackluster and boring! read more

An absolute gem of a breakfast spot with a killer dish in their outstanding Kentucky Cornbread entree. Scotch got a real kick out of seeing her home state represented out here in Colorado. But, not only that, but the dish is actually exceptional. Basically a twist on the old biscuits & gravy but with a cornbread twist, this is hearty, filling, and every bite impresses. I just wish it was a staple everywhere else in the country because this is something I'd order every time breakfast rolled around. I'm still thinking about it. The service was bubbly and charming. Toby hit it off with one of the servers and it made for a pleasant morning. I always like when the staff interjects a bit of their personality in every exchange instead of just moving on. I don't mean stopping what they're doing, but having a few extra words to get to know one another is always welcome. The space was small but quaint. It definitely had local brunch gathering place written all over it. I felt very comfortable and relaxed here, like I'd been invited to a friend's for a morning get-together. I came here with a group of three a couple weekends ago and it was such a delicious breakfast. I got their London fog latte and the California skillet. I for their gf bread and it was so delicious! Fluffy bread with their home made jam was a delight. The scramble was well balanced flavors and texture. What made the skillet even better were their home made hot sauces. The peach bourbon was so good I decided to buy some to take home. The service was good and she was knowledgeable about how to adapt the food to make it allergen friendly. read more

We had a delicious brunch here. Cute, packed little space with what looks like a hand painted mural on the wall. Not much room for the tables but we got a table in the corner so had a little elbow room. The waitress was phenomenal. Very prompt, with a carafe of iced water and a lemon slice right off the bat. I ordered the coffee special of the day: a bananas foster latte. Most places would have made this a sugar vat, but this was restrained, with slight undernotes of banana and lots of milky caffeine goodness. Vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options are noted throughout the menu and we ordered a mix of classics and unique options: my kid ordered a breakfast burrito, the husband got biscuits and gravy and I got the Athena scramble, with spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese included. The star of my dish was the ciabatta bread slices which were served with green chile jam... great quality bread, grilled and served warm. I'm not a fan of home fries but my husband assured me they were good. Clean plates all around! We enjoyed this breakfast place, and judging by the crowded tables, plenty of others do too. read more

The food was good except the pancakes. The pancakes are bigger than your head and really thick, they weren't fluffy, didn't really taste like a pancake to me. We've always liked this place. Less crowded than the top spots but consistent food for years. I've never had a meal differ from what I expected. They always a have a fun flavor of coffee as an alternative to plain coffee (such as macadamia or caramel or hazelnut), they have good service, it's a cozy little place, and I love their skillets. They have one of my fave skillets styles- not plain, boring, or messy. And plenty of tasty sweet options too (like the Mandaberry waffle- yum!). They also have the BEST coffee cake I have ever had!!! Blueberry coffee cake- homemade, so fresh, so soft, delicious! And they have my friend's favorite hot hot sauce (pictured). Love The Bluebird! Their crepes are my husband's favorite and the hollandaise sauce is the best we're ever tasted.

I The good: cute exterior, friendly & efficient service, huge pancakes, real butter & good bacon. The dining area is cute. The bad: ham slices that are very dry & had a weird taste, the coffee was cold, the eggs were lukewarm, my chai wasn't hot & tasted bad. The pancakes are dense -not fluffy-is this bad or good? The flavor was great. The ugly: the restaurant shares a building with another business. As you enter the area between the businesses you are hit with a horrible smell! I didn't want to go in. It smelled like an old, moldy house. Fortunately, once you enter the restaurant the smell is gone. Just be ready. read more

My son and I had breakfast here when I was in town visiting him awhile back and I really enjoyed it. The coffee was awesome, the menu had really interesting options and the specials on that day all sounded fantastic. I remember mine had eggs, jalapenos and cream cheese and I loved it. I wasn't sure that it would work but the combination of it was outstanding. I am always happy when a place has homemade jam with their toast and was thrilled that my toast was served with a jam. Giant piece of toast that was a great delivery system for the yummy goodness. The dining floor is bit cramped, a large party a few tables away made up the majority of the noise, as if everyone wanted to be part of their conversation. Our server was informative, personable and really went above and beyond to ensure we had great service. This might be one the best places I've eaten at while visiting FOCO. read more

2.5 stars. The problem is food knowledge and quality. The service and menu are fine but they don't know much about the food they are serving. Those 1/2 and 1/2 plastic containers have chemicals in them that are banned in CA and rightfully so. Their bread lacks salt and fermentation. They should just buy it in. It's terrible. I had an omelet. They can't cook eggs properly. It's a common issue in the U.S. Dried out over cooked eggs. Not my personal preference. I know a lot of diners like this. The potatoes are bagged and a little oily. This place is 3 stars in other places but Ft Collins has a ton of breakfast choices. I think if they worked on it, this could be much better food. read more

I know that everybody loves this restaurant. However, as a gluten-free vegan, there were not very many choices for me on the menu. I had the breakfast tacos and took off the eggs, cheese and sour cream. They were really good mind you. However, that was really the only breakfast choice that I had in order to have any protein. It would be great if this restaurant were more conscientious about vegan plus gluten-free options especially in a city where there are a lot more people who are conscientious about these choices. read more
