Brunch at Lucille's was cool in Denver long before hipsters started lining up to wait hours in the cold to insta selfies with their midsy grub. Back then, Lucille's was just on Logan Street. I love that location, but the wait was just too long today, so we headed southwest with beignets on the brain. While I couldn't even get inside Logan to get on the wait list, Evans was much more amenable. We found open bar seats for coffee (out of Hurricanes today, dammit) and were seated in about 15 min. Beignets never disappoint here and ours were piping hot and on point. My red beans n rice came in a two-meal portion with a giant buttermilk biscuit and andouille. Everything hit and I have half a biscuit and a full meal for later. Yes. Both regular and chicory coffees were delicious. Quality has always been reliable at Lucille's. No surprise there. From coffee to bacon to biscuits and butter, they do not cut corners. Nor will you find some BS service charge on the menu. My only beef today was clear understaffing. Our server had 4-5 tables, was stocking drink glasses and pushing carts of supplies while trying to take care of everyone. She busted her butt, but one person can only do so much.... We asked if someone called in. One server did, but overall, Lucille's should be better staffed to prevent cold food and cold coffee on the table. The kitchen seemed on time-delay, too. We dig this place and will be back.

Lucille's never disappoints. The most recent time I visited I was really impressed with the timely service we received. The ambiance itself definitely draws inspiration from NOLA with the bourbon street signs and French quarter decor. I highly recommend the shrimp po'boy, poppy seed pancakes, beignets, and red beans & rice. There's often long wait times, for good reason, especially during brunch, so just be prepared for a 30 minute / hour wait.

Shrimp and jalapeño grits with a fried egg on top. Really yummy, but wouldn't get another egg from here as the bottom was basically burnt.

Service was friendly, but almost non existent after we put our order in, unfortunately. Very disappointing as we were excited to try this place and all seemed well at first. My coffee drink took sooo long - didn't come out until after my food and when it did, it was cold. It was cold because it was left sitting there as all the whip cream was deflated into a puddle. Not sure why that would even be brought out. Pretty crappy if you ask me to serve something that has clearly been sitting around a while. I wanted to send it back but our server was nowhere to be found. Our server came by only one time to ask if we needed anything but she took so long that I had already asked another server to remake my drink. Pretty sure she was completely unaware the entire time. The drink didn't come out until after I was all finished eating and I didn't even want it anymore because I was so full from the food, but of course the server was not around to ask to take it off the bill, so I drank some of it. The food itself was good and the saving grace. Got the shrimp and grits with jalapeño grits and it was really tasty. I added a sunny side egg on top, but unfortunately it was basically burnt on the bottom half cooking the yolk which is the whole point. Overall, I'd come back to try more food, but if the service is like this again - I wouldn't return after that. Again the server was friendly, but unfortunately friendliness doesn't help if I can't get actual service that we're tipping you for.

Never been to this location and so glad I tried it out! This is much roomier than Logan street and service was fast and friendly- food was extra fresh and tasty- delish biscuit and the blacked salmon was amazing! Sunday at noon with no line? Yes please!!!!

Great conversations nice folks food was on point every time only place I've been eating. I've been here six months. I recommend service is great every time.

View from two-person table next to the window. They also have outdoor seating in the front and the back!

I love Lucille's...and I have a hard time choosing because everything is so good. I highly recommend getting the beignets if you are with friends. If you're dining solo, like I was this time, there was no way I could get them. I ordered the Cajun Breakfast that has red beans with meat, two poached eggs with hollandaise, grits or potatoes or a little of both, and a biscuit. I always get all grits and I ask for the cheesy ones because who can say no to cheese. I also add a side of gravy...they do bring the biscuit and gravy first which is nice and gives you something to munch on while waiting for your food. There is always some type of jam, butter, etc. on the table, which is nice on the biscuit. The apple butter is my favorite. The biscuits are next level. So good...a little crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside.

Cute spot, good service and great food! The biscuits are huge! And their mimosas are great because if you get the carafe they bring you the bottle and a glass of freshly squeezed OJ. Gotta love the portions lol. I come here every time I visit Denver!

Lucille's isn't the most elevated Cajun food I've ever had, but it sure hits the spot when you're wanting creole breakfast food. It's the kind of food that tastes like Grandma made it at home: hearty and rich with generous portions. The beignets were huge and fluffy--no lemon curd to go with it, but they have a homemade pepper jam and strawberry rhubarb jam that was tasty and not too sweet. Their ketchup is also made from scratch, which I appreciated. My partner enjoyed their Bloody Mary, while I had the homemade chai. I had the Cajun breakfast which I would order again just for the beans and grits. My partner's egg Benedict looked a bit messy in presentation but tasted just fine. The biscuit that came with my plate was also massive and fluffy and delicious. Service was friendly, ambience with the New Orleans/Mardi gras decor and wide open space for tables was much appreciated, and there is a small lot outside for parking. I'd be happy to come back here next time I'm craving some hearty Cajun cooking!

    Beignets

Lucille's is one of our go-to breakfast places in Denver, and it never disappoints. Everything on the menu is delicious and our highlights are definitely the beignets , biscuits , and the jalapeño cheese grits . My favorite dish is the eggs Benedicts . My favorite drinks are the fresh squeezed orange juice and the homemade chai. Service was amazing , shout out to Brad .
