We stopped in here while we were down the shore. The raspberry truffles, salt water taffy and fudge were excellent. However the chocolate covered cherries weren't very good. No liquid in the cherries made them very dry. But everything else was delish. read more

Stopped off here on the drive back home. Cute shop, the fudge selection was the typical selection and the turtles in dark chocolate YUM! They didn't have any of the rainbow swirl wirly lollipops which are best broken into bite size pieces and remind of this place called Farrell's Ice Creme Parlour that I used to go to back in Cali. A couple boxes of salt water taffy, I was happy with but next time I'll check the box for flavor variety, mine was primarily vanilla and chocolate, which is okay but I like all mixed flavors especially lime, banana and grape. The dark cherry cordials were tasty, I happily consumed two of these little tidbits of happiness before we were even home. Stop off here, bring the kids and feel like a kid in a candy store again. read more

I grew up on Lucille's candy, we lived on L.B.I directly across the street and my Mom was friends with the owners and worked here also. Years later its by far still my favorite, almond butter nut crunch is my # 1 favorite candy in the world:} The smell that hits you when you walk through the door makes your mouth water, every holiday and cheat day I go for a visit, cant say enough great things, always a friendly staff and quality candy! Limited selection of fudge and expensive taffy. 2 lb box of taffy for $17...next time I will remember to pick some up at bay village rather than waiting until the last minute of vacation. No wonder why there was no one in the store. read more

AKA Oh Fudge! God, I love this place. I used to come here as a little kid with my gramma. She would sneak-treat me to licorice and gummies and she would sneak-treat herself to some the fudge. I loved all the colorful candies and silly gifts... And I went back last week, probably 15 years since I was last there. I was half expecting the shop to be a completely different experience and not live up to my memories. I definitely expected it to be run by a different person. And it was--Lucille's daughter! The shop has stayed in the family, and it's just as I remember. I spent $20 bucks getting licorice, gummies, fudge, and some assorted chocolates, which were just as good I remembered them. + 1 on the fudge recipe. I can't speak to all the flavors, but the chocolate with cherry is to die for + 1 for the decor remaining true to LBIs wonderful feel. Nostalic? Yup! And I love it. + 1 for the daughter running the place. As she said to me, "You know, I don't think my customers really want to see change in the shop." She also chatted me and my girlfriend up about softball, which was hilarious and wonderful. High five. read more

I passed this along the way to the beach my mother in law was at and I made it a personal note to get some fudge afterwards because I LOVE me some good fudge. I came in and the wait was long but that is because the proprietor was assisting other customers. I ordered some fudge and some truffles. They were very good. She even gave me extra (insert happy face emoticon.) Oh and I like buying refrigerator magnets for places I have been. This place had them as well as salt water taffy, other chocolates and souvenirs. The outide of the shop is a big pink sign that says, "oh fudge," but the boxes the chocolates were packaged in were marked as "Lucille's own...." read more

I was down on LBI over Labor Day Weekend and had a craving for some candy - chocolate to be specific. I stopped in Lucilles Candies - the one with Oh Fudge on the roof. Heaven awaited. They have a tremendous assortment and fantastic staff to help with the selection. I ended up with some fudge too. Everything tasted great and prices were good. I highly recommend for those who like to indulge once in a while. They have a store on the main land on Route 72 as well - so you can shop some more on your way home. I did. read more

I received a box of Lucille's chocolates for my birthday from a friend in Omaha. They were absolutely decadent. I have had Godiva chocolates and chocolates from Switzerland that weren't nearly as good. Unfortunately, I live in Montana and don't get to New Jersey much. I am hoping Lucille's will deliver as I would love to give a box of chocolates to all my friends for their birthday. read more

I have been coming here since I was a little girl. They have a great selection of fudge and candy to choose from at a reasonable price.

Just passed by this place on the way to our annual beach trip and realized I never wrote a review from the last time we stopped. We purchased multiple boxes of candy and I then asked to use the bathroom. I was visibly quite pregnant (7 months) and, as I mentioned, was a paying customer...they still said no because it was for employees only. Had this happened before the purchase, we would have walked out. The candy was good, but not especially memorable. read more

Hands down this beats country kettle by a mile. The fudge is creamy and soft, there is a flavor for all tastes. We get some every year during our vac and if we are down any other time of year we make a special detour to the one on 72. The cost seems to be going up each year but for now I am willing to pay what the charge. Yummy read more

The milk chocolate selection is so yummy. Whenever I am on the island I stop by and get a bag of mixed chocolates. Love the choc covered raisins, coconut clusters, chocolate caramels and nonpareils. The prices here are also really reasonable and the people who work there are always really nice and helpful. read more
