Great little Mexican place. Friendly attentive service. Atmosphere is nothing special but who cares? The food is delicious, from the poblano crab soup to the lobster quesadillas to the beef fajitas. The quesadillas were chock full of lobster. Four of us walked out totally stuffed and satiated and the tab was 115 without tip including a few soft drinks. While on vacation down at LBI this year we wanted to try someplace new and we heard GREAT things about La Bamba. Let me tell you...the hype was real and on point! We got there kind of early because we didn't want to wait and we wanted to watch the sunset. When we got there there was only one table being used so our party of five grabbed a table and passed around the beers we brought. We ordered a mix of entrees plus the triple dip and chips. We ordered a lobster quesadilla, two chicken burritos, a combo fajitas and the camarones Al ajillo (shrimp in a garlic sauce). The food was all pretty tasty and came out in a timely manner. My only negative was with my fajitas - PLENTY of beef and chicken, but vey little veggies and the ones I got were underdone. Otherwise everyone's food was great. Just remember, this is LBI so you're paying LBI prices. Also, they only serve bottled water at $2 per bottle. Our waitress was super friendly and the place seemed like it could be a lot of fun. read more

The food here is DELICIOUS and authentically cooked by Rosa. Wonderful ambience too, colorful and vibrant. Burritos are huge and specials are excellent (especially lobster quesadilla, more like a grilled taco--rich, garlicky, tons of meat). Best fish tacos on the island. Also recommend the chicken tortilla soup and Mexican street corn side. The tres leches cake was a giant slice and pretty good (more cakey than milky). The fajitas smell great and usually set off the fire alarm! Mexican coke in a glass bottle along with other authentic Mexican drinks to try. You won't be disappointed here. read more

We recently ordered a large catering order from here for a night with family in LBI. Everything was great! Fresh and delicious. The portions were perfect for sharing and the owner gave us a cambro to keep the food at temperature. I would definitely do this again. Highly recommend. read more

Nice little place on the Blvd. All of the food (in my party) seemed pretty fresh with a nice little presentation...nothing too fancy. I ordered the fish tacos which reminded me a bit of The Bonefish Grill's Bang Bang Shrimp (in a soft tortilla. It was my first time ever eating a fish taco, so I have nothing to compare. Perhaps I'm a little old school, used to "old school prices", but I thought the food was a bit overpriced....but again, probably expected being in a tourist town. I often try specials when offered, it makes dining out more adventurous. Tonight I tried La Bamba's Bronzino Veracruz. What a treat. The bronzino was cooked properly and topped with a great medley of tomatoes, onions, olives, and spices. The plate included a large serving of yellow rice and sweet plantains. Unfortunately, there was soooo much food I couldn't eat a dessert, which is always my favorite part of any dinner. Good and bad, we had a mixed experience. We had blue crab flautas as our appetizer which were great, but our entres were under seasoned and too greasy. Side of brussel sprouts were really good though. This is a personal pet peeve that I will include, i dislike it when you order water at a resturaunt and instead of a glass they give you a plastic water bottle, which they did here unfortunately. I did not feel well after my fish tacos. The place is clean and friendly, maybe just be careful what you order some stuff is good and some stuff isnt. read more

Most of the food here is pretty decent but the waitstaff ruins the experience. I have been here many times and this past time with the young girl at the register was the last straw. She was extremely unfriendly and rude to me when ordering and picking up my food. I'm a local and won't be coming back anymore. Highly recommend!! We went for dinner with two families -- the food was great and we appreciated byob (they offered ice bucket and bottle opener). If I could give this 4.5 stars, I would. Me and my family stopped here when we were pretty full, which was a mistake because the servings here are HUGE! You definitely get a bang for your buck. We got the guacamole and chips which was good, but I do wish there was some free chips and salsa, as chips and salsa is seven dollars. The mains were absolutely delicious. I'm vegetarian, so I got the Brussels sprout tacos which were amazing and had the perfect amount of spice and cheese. The rice and beans were also great and I'm definitely picky about that dish. My family got fish tacos and chicken enchiladas and they loved their food. The decor was very on theme and the AC was nice. The only reason I would knock some points off is for the service, which was super helpful and efficient, but a bit overbearing. They seemed to be trying very hard to sell us things and kept asking us small questions when we were trying to eat. Our server was very nice though!
