Well, my cold crack didn't get refilled without flagging some stranger down (Diet Coke). My brisket salad had 6 slim pieces of meat, although delicious, six slim!!!! I asked for EVO for my salad, not sure what I got, but it was not EVO....dude, we're in Temecula!!!!! I went without. We received a gift card as a Christmas gift so we headed to Temecula to Lucille's. It's located towards the end of the mall, which is a very busy mall and be prepared to drive around to look for parking. We were greeted promptly upon entering and were seated right away in the bar area in a booth. Our server was nice, but lacked som initiative to refill our drinks. We ordered the 3 meat platter which included our choice of 3 meats, 2 sides, and 2 biscuits. For our meat we selected: - pork belly burnt ends - beef brisket - pulled pork The bbq was good, only complaint is it was served luke warm and therefore it got cold rather quickly. For our sides we had the Mac n Cheese and mashed potatoes. The Mac n Cheese tasted like boxed and not fresh so not our favorite. The biscuits were also luke warm and a bit hard. I'm disappointed.. Lucilles use to be my favorite but they took the rib tips and cheesy grits off the menu and you only get 3 beef ribs not 5 and you know those beef ribs don't really have no meat on them anyway so $37 dollars for 3 bones is crazy my ribs had more fat than meat and my bbq tri tips was really tough not tender at all and the apple butter tasted like butter barely had any apple flavor this was a waste of $100 I'm very disappointed and the service here was not that good also I don't know if it's cause we sat in the bar area or what but I don't think I will be ever returning to this place for bbq again.. read more

We walked in last week Wednesday, about 30 minutes after opening. Not was not busy at all, and we were seated immediately. The waiter was friendly. Happy hour menu is a great deal and so is the lunch special we came at 3 so we were able to order off lunch and happy hour at 4 if seated in bar area. Drinks were reasonably priced 7-9.00 which is great and had a decent amount of alcohol in them . We ordered some apps and Vanessa our server was very friendly and attentive . The apps queso dip 2/5and onion 1/4straws very salty were not that great I wouldn't recommend them but the warm biscuits and three item bbq plate was great the meat was flavorful the chicken was the best . I do have to agree the food all was lukewarm warm which was disappointing. The only thing that arrived hot was the fries that my mom made sure to tell server I need these fresh out the fryer. So, things were good in the beginning. Bread came out, drinks came out, and order was taken. Prior to us being sat down the tables were like this already. Mind you this picture was after we were done eating and I got to just stare and more things that were wrong. My drink was filled only once but that was after all this. Was asked if I needed a refill and was forgotten. I understand that you are busy but if ask a customer if they want a refill,you should probably not forget. Food came and I ordered 2 meat combo and asked for double meat and the picture is what I received. The meal is $25 for 8 pieces, I asked the person that dropped off the meal and they confirmed it was a double order. Super oily and meat was dry, the only part not dry was the fat that was there. As mentioned in previous reviews of mine, I do not review establishments "hard" or "easy." Rather, I give a straightforward and honest look to let others "see what I see," in order to make good decisions for themselves (in my opinion, the essence of Yelp). Even with restaurants with much improvement needed, I usually am able to find at least one positive during the visit - for Lucille's (Temecula Promenade location), not one positive was identified. With much to review, I will summarize in bullet points for ease (preventing one run-on sentence and paragraph). Observations: * Cleanliness: at arrival, we were seated and realized there is much cleaning opportunity (my wife had to ask for a second cloth napkin just so she could place her purse on the "greasy" seat next to her); Additionally (see pictures of the "buttons" in the seat backs as one example) - needing a thorough cleaning * Appetizer: We ordered the "Onion Straws" as we love onion rings - However, I would not recommend these Onion Straws to anyone - difficult to eat, little flavoring, and overly greasy * Main courses: Both our meals arrived with the food barely lukewarm (borderline cool); if not in a hurry, we would have sent them back. The brisket was so tough you could not chew it (both of us tried and failed) - this was returned for pulled pork. The pulled pork in two separate meals was so dry, we had to "drown" it in barbecue sauce to give it moisture. The side of (~$6 upcharge) salad was obviously from a pre-bagged restaurant supply purchase with no extra effort or ingredients added (not worth the money). My side of okra was nearly inedible (I only took a couple bites), did not even taste like okra, and was basically a, "mini grease sponge." * Service/Server: The server was nice enough and provided a decent level of attention. However, when receiving borderline-cool food, I wonder how much of that problem could be directed to service (i.e., how long did the plate of food sit before being brought to the table?). We were given to-go trays prior to leaving but both of us agreed that the leftovers were not worthy of a trip home. We were last here at this location shortly after they opened (2010-ish), were driven back this time due to a gift card we received that was collecting dust, but left this time agreeing that a return here would not be in our future. Wondering about this location, how their arrival wait time was 10 - 30 minutes yet over half of the restaurant tables were empty, I realize that due to them being co-located with the mall, they will always get a certain amount of inbound foot traffic (regardless of food and service quality). read more

We first went to Phil's eager to try their brisket and compare it with Lucille's (see my previous review here not too long ago). No St Louis style ribs no mac and cheese and no brisket at Phil's EVER ! And no substitution for the mundane boring sides that come with a family deal for the sides on the right which wasn't very exciting either because there's no mac and cheese. I couldn't see us spending over $100 for everything we didn't want so I said "We could leave". Everyone wholeheartedly agreed and Eddie said enthusiastically "Let's go back to Lucille's in the same mall". So much for our first time at Phil's BBQ which my experience rates 1 star. We arrived at Lucille's at 7:30 and the employee who seated us told our server he overheard us talking about brisket. She came to our table and said we ran out of brisket tonight. Well !!! But they did have St Louis style ribs. So Eddy ordered a full rack of those and pulled pork and 4 sides. At the end of our meal we were looking at the leftovers of the St Louis style ribs and saying to each other that they weren't as good as the last time we came to Lucille's when it was soft and fall-off-the-bone. The ribs we got tonight was all burnt black and had a hard beef jerky like crust on it that you couldn't eat. None of the Mexicans wanted to say anything like complain about the burnt ribs (said it was a cultural thing), so I said I'll tell our server. When she came to the table I showed her how hard the black crust on the ribs were and how we had to peel off the crust and set it aside on our plate because it wasn't chewable and definitely not fall off the bone and the ribs were all burnt black and carcinogenic. She took the plate of ribs to show her manager whom she quoted "yeah doesn't look good". So she came back to her table and said we have two choices. They will make us another rack of ribs. But we didn't wanna wait for another order to come out, as it was close to closing time and we were done eating and wanted to go home. Or two, get a refund for price of the ribs only. We chose the refund. It was a whopping $71. Eddy was paying. And I got him that money back, cos his "family" didn't wanna "say anything" (they said it was their culture) about the burnt ribs, so I said it for them. But I found tonight almost comical because it didn't turn out the way we wanted and we never got our brisket after going to two BBQ restaurants in the same night. Two Yelpers who had seen my 2 star Destination review and wrote me to try Calhoun's and Chef Brian at Wine Ranch Grill and Cellar, both in Murrieta, I invited me to try smoked tri tip, oxtails, etc at his restaurant. So we will try those places someday soon. read more

We went for lunch 5/30/26, we hadn't been to a Lucille's in a while. Usually they were packed and we had to wait to be seated. There was hardly anyone there. Waiter was very nice and attentive. We picked lunch, it's an extra charge 1.50 so lunch for two meats can cost $23-$24. The amount of meat you get is ridiculously small and it was tasteless, you have to pile on the BBQ sauce. So glad I went! On the outside, Lucille's looked like some corny chain restaurant with slop for food. I've walked past this place often, thinking these thoughts. I was WRONG! Nice decor that reminded me of an old southern roadside restaurant. We were welcomed in and our waitress treated us like regulars. The burnt ends were just fatty enough to make them easy to the teeth and tasty to the tongue. Then rustic home made biscuits were fantastic and fluffy. The brisket was fair, flaky, and a little in the dry side and the pudding had great potential. We will be going back once we eat our leftovers..cause this was a LOT of food. read more

Came in yesterday & we were excited because Lucile's is always good. We had a friendly server, she tried to upsell us a lot but you know that's her job. I love the huge jar they use for water, cute and awesome portion. I drink a lot of water everyday anyways so I liked the large jar. Don't have to keep asking for refills as often. My you pick two meal was good, the Mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious, the beef brisket had a little too much fat on it for me. The half chicken was good, just a lot of food. The bread rolls I have never really been a fan of in general, I don't like sugar on my food items that are meant to be savory. The butter would be great on the roll of the roll didn't have sugar on it. The nachos were pretty good, could have had more meat on them though. The chips were fresh and crunchy not stale. They had a snickers ice cream pie/slice dessert that looked amazing! I didn't get to try it though, hopefully it isn't seasonal and I can try it soon; although I have not seen it on the menu before. read more

We all love a good Bar B Que Restaurant where you can enjoy a good meal.This time it was a poor choice while out shopping. The wait time and service was ok no issues considering near Christmas time. My issue for this review was the food. I was informed my platter was large enough for two (it was not) no problem, The issue was poor quality of food it had little or no smoke flavor, the Brisket was very fatty and tuff not what you're looking for eating Brisket. The 3bone ribs must been steam cooked before placed in the smoker there were no smoke ring or flavor what a disappointment when you want good BBQ. We ended up here spontaneously on a rainy day when the sushi place we had planned on going to was closed. It was such a blessing in disguise, Sharon was our waitress and she was so incredibly kind and helpful the whole time. At the end of our meal she even took time to show up the smoker. I wish I remembered his name, but the server was seriously top notch and very attentive! We had refills on our drinks and food came out as ordered. The food tasted really good! The barbecue was delicious and meat super tender. The Mac and cheese was average and a little bland, but the wedge salad, veggies, gumbo, ribs, brisket and salmon were delicious! We ordered Lucille's to be delivered on a whim and were happy with our decision. Mostly. The food was packed with care in to go boxes and looked very presentable. All of it was flavorful and tasty! We did the lunch meal for two. Brisket was tender and tasty. Rib tips were tender and tasty. The JALAPEÑO CORN MUFFINS. Amazing. Mac and Cheese was delicious. Fried Pickles were yummy too. AND THE BANANA PUDDING. I need more, and honestly one of the BEST Banana Puddings I've ever had. My only small complaint. The prices were a bit high for the small portions we received. Went to Lucille's for a random lunch on a Thursday and we had the best time. The bbq was tender and our server Sharon was welcoming, and so knowledgeable about the menu. Every single recommendation she made was spot-on -- not a miss in sight. She even suggested mixing the BBQ sauces (game changer ), which totally elevated the whole meal and made it feel like a true Lucille's experience instead of just dinner. You can tell Sharon genuinely cares about making sure guests have a great time, and that energy really sets the tone for the entire visit. My daughter and I had a girls night out here recently and we decided it was time to go back to Lucille's. We picked a nice quiet night to go- we mostly had the place to ourselves. Our server was so kind, made helpful suggestions and was kind enough to warn us that we were ordering enough food for an army (we did anyway!) It was SO good. The meats were perfect, the cracked deviled eggs were to die for good. We snatched those up immediately. Needless to say we took a TON of leftovers home.
