3/7/26 Good food. A little pricy for a chicken plate but good. We bought the Chicken Katsu and the kids loved it. The rice was undercooked, though. I'm me bottle of soy sauce is not enough to go around when you have multiple groups dining in. We had to keep asking for soy sauce and each time we were told it was next to the soda machine, when it was NOT. The Moco Loco.... What even is that? My 13 year old grandson ordered it and couldn't eat it. His mom tried it and couldn't figure it out either. All I had to do was taste the brown gravy and I could see why they couldn't eat it. If it were me, I would've returned it for something better. LOL! It was horrible. We wanted to get away from paying high buffet prices ($27 per person) but this was just as pricey. I also didn't want to deal with a crowd, which obviously there were no crowds. 5 pm on a Saturday All in all, I would give the Katsu plates 5 stars but that's about it. Nobody in that restaurant talks to you, each other or even smiles.... It's a sad place. The feeling is doom. Not for me anymore but we had been regulars awhile back. I give this place a 7/10 food was good and was flavorful looked kinda of dry upon opening it but it was delicious adding some Sriracha on top. When I ordered I did have to wait around 35-40 minutes to get it that was a downfall for me. Also the fountain drinks weren't that great. Had to throw my drink out but food was wonderful. read more

My boss orders through Grubhub and this place is one of my favorite go-to as a born and raised 808 local. However, this location removed Kalua Pork from grubhub's menu. I called because maybe it was an error on GrubHub's website but no, an employee specified "the manager removed it because he wants walk ins for Kalua Pork, I'm not sure why." such a disappointing reason. I know I personally can drive there and pick up myself, but again, my boss is treating our staff through Grubhub. and I'm sad I can't order Kalua Pork because of a management decision. oh well. read more

Had their plates before and they're good. Haven't had them lately , which a lot of reviews say their going downhill but you can't always believe what you hear, I'll have to find out for myself. Being Hawaiian and having grown up on plate lunch, I consider myself a connoisseur of Hawaiian plate lunch.... self-proclaimed of course! Ohana Hawaiian BBQ is comparable to L&L Hawaiian BBQ here in California. Almost identical in their menu and unfortunately also in the quality of food. Having said that, it's not terrible....it's just ok. I was on a weekend trip in the area. And after days of being away from home, I needed some rice!!! I found this place only a few miles from where we were staying in the Temecula Wine Country so I decided to check it out. I arrived on a weekday about 8PM. The hours of operation on the door said they were open until 9PM, however they had already started putting chairs on top of the tables and closing off the front portion of the restaurant. Not a very inviting look for a first-time guest. Our food was cooked fresh, but overall the food was just missing it's flavor. The gravy on our Loco Moco was harden and you could tell was old gravy. Probably cooked in a bigger batch and used throughout the day. The hamburger patty was dry. On my Seafood BBQ combo plate, the BBQ beef was dry and lacking flavor. And the deep fried Mahi Mahi was not very crispy. Again, compared to other Hawaiian places I've eaten at here in California, this was not the worst. It was just OK. A funny experience on my visit... When I placed my order I asked for a "Spam Saimin". This is a regular menu item that appeared to confuse my order taker. She repeated it several times to me, and then clarified "did you mean the noodles?" LOL!!! Saimin is noodles, and often referred to as "Ramen" and I could have seen this being the case if the menu said "Ramen"...but it said "Saimin". I just found it funny, that I used the exact name on the menu and she was confused if I was referring to noodles or not. Gotta know your menu. If you're hungry, you will get a good portion for your buck here. But if you are trying to recapture the flavors of the island that you once had in Hawaii, this place might not meet your expectations. read more

Our family loves Ohana Hawaiian BBQ!! It's one of our go to places. The food is always onolicious.

Service was great and the food was delicious. The portions are big. We get a plate to share and still end up with left over food.

I want to leave a fair review here because I've never had Hawaiian food. All things considered it was really good. I lovedddd the spam musubi dish. I also ordered the Hawaiian burger and the mixed combo platter. Everything was good, but just really dry. I think from the pictures and videos I've seen of Hawaiian food, I was expecting saucey flavored goodness but this wasn't that. That can very well be my ignorance or my American need to want something saucy. I just felt like the food was very dry and even the pictures of the food at this restaurant didn't match to what I received. We've only been here twice in 6 years because their food and the quality is just not up to par with my local girl standards. I guess it's hard coming from the real deal and setting the bar high for a restaurant claiming to be Hawaiian food and even going as far as calling it "Ohana" So the first time 6 years ago, we weren't impressed and never went back. Food was oily, small portions, ended up with upset opus. This second time was just because we were in the area and needed something quick for the road...MUSUBIS! One of our family faves and I make it all the time at home. Ordered two orders of spam (4 pieces) and two orders of BBQ chicken (another 4 pieces) also they were out of their BBQ meat at prime lunch time...Over $31 dollars! MIND BLOWN!! Calculates to almost $4 a piece for just the BBQ chicken. While the chicken was good, nice piece, tender with a decent flavor, the rice was so manini and they go cheap with their little nori scrap so after one bite, the whole thing is falling apart, this is not real local Hawaiian food! read more

I used to go once a week. The food started going downhill. Taste was horrible. I was also getting sick. They were always out of certain condiments which I didn't care for but just something seemed off. I did call to talk to the owner but I don't think it was owner. It sounded like a kid. I need to go back because I've seen the owner a a bunch of times. I brought my friend and I two meals which cost me $37. I don't mind paying that much for food for a friend I. I just bought myself food the following week and it was horrible and I threw up right away. The taste was super different and I don't know what was wrong but I called back and they didn't have an answer for me. They said everything was the same. It's been going downhill overtime and I just wanted to make this reference so people know! Also, they stopped serving the same amount of food and charged me the same so I am going to a different Hawaiian barbecue from now on. I really respected this place and hospitality. I was baffled when i ordered the kalbi short ribs and saw how extremely THIN it was!! Like, was this supposed to be bulgogi with ribs? To top it off, the flavor was not as good as it used to be!! It was crazy expensive too!! I left the place unsatisfied and still hungry. I won't be coming back here anymore if this is where the quality & quantity of the food is. The following review is my opinion based on the service I received from Ohana Hawaiian BBQ. I'll start off with the food. It was less than pleasing. I ordered the lunch portion bbq beef. The portion it self was fair. For some might be on the lighter side but for me I actually liked it. It wasn't too filling. The Mac salad was very good. Creamy cold flavorful and not too much mayo. The rice was just rice. Hard to mess that up. The meat came served on cold bland cabbage. On the menu I believe it's said to come with a scoop of salad. Maybe that's their idea of salad. Not sure. The bbq beef was terrible. I do not recommend it. It was thinly sliced and dry. Absolutely dry. The price was high coming in at $16.00 with a small drink and $1 tip. The customer service however was above average. The young lady taking orders was very kind and helpful when I had questions about the menu. Food was promptly prepared. Kitchen staff was working full steam banging out orders working hard. Dining area was clean and so was the restroom. I will be back to try other menu items as they have plenty of options to choose from. Thinking of trying a burger next time. A good Hawaiian gem! Great food overall and quaint atmosphere. The Katsu was very nicely done. Crispy without being oily. The short ribs were tasty but could have been a little more tender. Also very much liked the desserts and the variety they offer in their menu. The one plate with the two meats was definitely shareable.
