We stopped by for a drink and to look over the menu... service is awesome, great drink selection.. my family and I ended up sharing 1 plate.. Liver and onions were so good. Fresh tortillas, we asked for spicy salsa on the side and omg did they deliver! When entering there is a podium with a sign wait for seating, after no one coming Wd walked in and still waited while not one employee said someone will be right with you. We liked the country atmosphere. ribs were a little dry, fish was good. We were told that the chili was not spicy and me friend always eats mild spicy but this was to much and had to find someone to exchange it, then she stated to gag when she took a bite of the hamburger and had to pull a long hair out of her mouth with the other end still in the burger. Came in on a Saturday evening. Karaoke night was pretty entertaining, with a whole variety of patrons on the mic. The tvs in the bar are small and quite old, making it less than ideal to watch a sporting event. They have a great draft beer selection and a few $5 drink specials. Theres plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so we were able to get sat immediately. Our server rushed us for no reason, asking if we wanted boxes just several minutes after we got our plates. The food quality is what I expected from a dive bar kitchen, though it did come out quickly which was nice. Wings were quite small and poor quality chicken. The nachos were massive with a load of brisket, could easily share with a few people. Me and my boyfriend ate here at about 9:30pm we were in town for an event and he wanted some brisket. Well we ordered a side of brisket, the half rack of ribs and pickled chips. My side salad was forgotten about. The brisket wasn't good swinging cafe was 10x better. The ribs were eh. 35 min drive home and me and my boyfriend are both in the bathroom. We went on a Saturday afternoon and Old Town was packed. Im not sure WHY this place was not!!!! This was the first time in a long time I did not regret eating out! The service was great the food was amazing and the price was definitely fair! In our party we had Meat loaf, ribs, fish tacos, tri tip dip and everyone raved about their meal. We've been going here off and on for years when we've traveled through Temecula. The service is friendly and the food is excellent. If you love bbq, you'll love the ribs! They have lots of sports on TVs, both men's and women's sports, and a bar that circles round with plenty of seats. There are even TVs outside on the patio. We drove all the way from San Diego looking forward to eating at Texas Lil's, only to be turned away because we had a small amount of outside food for our 2-year-old son. Our toddler doesn't eat barbecue, so we brought something just for him--not for any of the adults. I completely understand that restaurants have policies regarding outside food, but I think there should be some common sense and compassion when it comes to feeding a toddler. We weren't trying to avoid purchasing food; our entire family planned to eat there. After making the drive and being turned away over a meal for our child, it was a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning, and I hope the restaurant considers making an exception for young children in the future. read more

Waitress had spunk! Ambiance is casual and down to earth. There's a jukebox and I felt like all types of music was being played which made for a pleasant atmosphere. Hubby and I came in on a busy Friday and were greeted and sat right away. I had their dinner plate, 2 margaritas and 1 Mexican candy shot. After browsing around Old Town my husband saw a sign for "the best $5 margarita" so we knew we had to stop in. Now I can't say anything for the food but the drinks were great. Went on a Thursday night and indoor and outdoor were pretty full. The food is A+. We ordered a variety of things and all tried each other's food. Baby Back ribs phenomenal, the chicken tenders on the kids menu... like some of the best I've ever had. You could tell they were homemade and breaded there. The Brisket Enchiladas were great! And the Becky's rice salad bowl was awesome too. Added bonus is it was a great place to take kids as well. The food here was great-really good! don't understand how anyone could rate this place anything less than a 5. The barbecue ribs were super tender (meat fell off-the-bone) and flavorful-excellent! The coleslaw and fries that came with the ribs were quite tasty as well. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which was extremely tasty and juicy with minimal fat. Waiter was personal but not attentive. The big disappointment was the food. I ordered the spareribs and they were very underwhelming at best. No smoke flavor at all. Boiled and finished on grill? Description indicated a dry rub used but not on this full rack. The sauce was bland without BBQ flavor...at all. In a word BORING. Should have ordered a McRib. Potato salad was OK but reminiscent of the boxed variety. Not in the food business but I can't understand why this restaurant doesn't make their own or maybe they try to make it taste like pre-made. Slaw was OK and could have been made in-house. Big disappointment and while the ribs were tender (boiled?) the meal wasn't worth the expense and won't be returning.
