The worst hair cut experience in 18 years of Seattle hair cuts. Over priced , rushed work with no finesse. Terrible scheduling , nasty attitude ,very unprofessional . When I got home my daughter gasped WTF! My Son said my hair looked the same but worse, and my Aunt said a crew cut would fix it.! The stylist was a 1/2 hr late to the appointment and then stuffed another dude in front of me while I was parking. Offered me a beer while I waited another hour or more and than charged me 5$. So I came into Lucky 7 for a complete change! I swear to god those stylists could read my mind because I got what I've always wanted!! Blane cut my hair and it's amazing! Beyond just doing a basic cut Blane took extra care to detail and texturize my hair to perfectly complement my face and texture. LaRhetta colored my hair. All I told her was I wanted blue, but not all over and anything beyond that was up to her creative technique. She did not disappoint! The color is vibrant and beautiful! A blend of turquoise, green, blue and violet that complements my cut. Most places around the Wallingford area are very expensive and impersonal so I thought I would try seven on the recommendation of my fiancé. I have just found my new favorite place that I've ever got a haircut. Sure, they may not do the complimentary shampoo or rinse (don't even know if they do it period), but never have I had such an awesome experience at a barber's on the first time I've been in. When I initially walked in, there was one barber/stylist (La Rhetta) and she was busy. She let me know that'd it'd be a little bit of a wait, so I went next door to Molly Moon's (really convenient location for an ice cream shop as mentioned by others' reviews) and got an ice cream, and returned when I was done, right at the time she specified, and was ready to go. Throughout the entire haircut, we held conversation back and forth (this is a first for me, so it was pretty huge) and she even gave me some recommendations on places to check out given some of my interests (another first). All in all, definitely a place to hit up if you're ever in the area and need a haircut. read more

Oh gosh, I should have left.... I went in for a trim. I requested that she take off the least amount of hair possible. please, Please, PLEASE do not hack off my hair!! I barely even wanted a trim...I just wanted a small touch-up and I requested more layers. The hair cut started off OK. No wash, but I didn't need one, and the conversation was going well. But out of no where, the topic of her ex-husband came up. As she's ranting, my hair starts flying off. By the end of the cut, all my pretty layers and length were gone. She must have cut off 3-4 inches, easily. In addition, there was no texture, no layers, nothing...just 3 inches gone. Ugh! read more

I just got my hair cut with Suzanne. I love the cut, and she did a great job styling it, too. Most of the time people send me out the door with a soccer mom bouffant, and I can't tell if I like the haircut until I get home and do it myself. Not so with Suzanne. She understood how aggressively my hair needed to be texturized in order to do anything, and she wasn't shy about it. I am growing my hair out, and I don't hate it. Ugh, did my hair need a trim! I was beginning to look like a time traveler recently arrived from a more frizz-tolerant era, a contemporary, perhaps, of Gilda Radner, or, say, Mia Farrow circa Peyton Place. Trouble was, I was feeling cheap and unwilling to sit through the endless processes involved in a salon-style cut. I know some people loooove the way they shampoo your hair and massage your scalp or whatever but I find the whole thing a bit too, well, intimate. Anyway, I decided to be adventurous and go to the Lucky 7 barbershop. Now, usually "adventurous" + "haircut =" bad idea jeans. Take it from somebody who once threw caution to the wind and got her haircut in a small town in Vermont. I walked around with my head at a slight tilt to the right for weeks until my roommate finally offered to even it out for me. But I digress. Here's the review: the Lucky 7 Barbershop accepts walk-ins and it only costs 26 dollars for a cut. Crystal just sprayed my hair down, cut it, and asked me if there'd be anything else. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. No, she's no Chris Mcmillon (the man who invented "the Rachel" haircut, for those of you not in the know), but Crystal did just fine. And now I can run a comb through my hair. Who knows, now that I'm doing the barbershop thing, maybe my Dad and I will get haircuts together one day. Far out. read more

Really good haircut by Glynn. I was a little hesitant to just walk into a haircut here with no prior knowledge of the place, but Glynn was so nice and low-key I felt like taking a chance. And so glad I did. She did a plain and simple cut. Took her time. Was detail oriented. And for the first time in forever, I didn't have to go home and fix my bangs, she did them perfect. Had to walk out after waiting 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. The shop wasn't incredibly busy and one of the stylists seemed to just be lingering around her station. The staff was unprofessional and openly complained about the call volume, their booking system, and even the lighting in the shop. After walking out, the stylist called and left an unprofessional voicemail asking if I was coming back and blaming the delay on the owner's absence. I went home and set up an appointment online at Nola in Fremont for later in the day. I had a terrific experience there with a very attentive stylist and now my hair looks awesome. It was a little more expensive but well worth it. I'm glad I've found my local hair shop, but unfortunately it isn't Lucky 7. read more

This place Is a joke. I wouldn't mind the ultra-hipster/trendy counter culture BS decor and the fact that you have to have fifteen piercings in your face to work there if the cut was decent and/or reasonably priced but it wasn't. The woman cutting my hair just constantly talked to other stylists which would have been fine if she didn't completely stop cutting my hair when she talked. Took her twice as long as it should have to complete the haircut. When it was done it was poor at best. The price tag for such an easy cut was way high, even if it had been great.....which it wasnt. I went drastic with my last hair cut. From long wavy locks to fohawk, all in one day. A Fohawk on a woman needs to be particularly perfect to be pulled off well. Windy did an AMAZING job! Not only that, she was an interesting and interested person, which makes the 30-45 minutes in the chair that much more fun. The hawk came out fabulously and over the next 4 months as I traveled West Africa, it grew out perfectly too. Now that I am home, I am going back to Windy to have her work her magic again. Their pricing is more than fair, cheap for the incredible service provided I would say. Which really just means I can leave a bigger tip without feeling the hurt in my wallet. Sherry is seriously my go to gal for haircuts. I started getting my hair cut from her at Lucky 7 about a year and a half ago, and have never been disappointed. She's skillful, knowledgeable, and just honestly really knows her stuff. Even if I don't have a clear idea of exactly what I want, she's always down for brainstorming with me to find the best cut for my face shape and hair type. Not only is she an awesome hair stylist, she makes great conversation about anything from movies to books (she writes some killer vampire novels, and not the sissy Twilight kind of stuff). Lucky 7 takes walk ins, but to make sure I get Sherry I suggest calling ahead and making in appointment. Sometimes I can get in with her by calling the same day. Excellent cut. Made an appointment, got in on time and had my hair cut. Very straight forward as a man. The woman who cut my hair did an excellent job (Allanah). She took her time and checked with me about length as she cut. She's cut my hair twice now and is consistently great. A little less expensive than Rudy's and with way more personal attention.
