We boarded our two dogs for the first time at Lucky Bones. We were concerned because we had never boarded dogs and our youngest Sophie was very excitable. They addressed our concerns and were very accommodating. We love the fact that they played outside their kennels the majority of the time. They did not nickel and dime you for every little thing. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. When we picked up the dogs they were bathed and their bedding was washed. We would definitely recommend Lucky Bones. read more

I should have made this review years ago.... In February of 2023, I left both my Dalmatians here for over 12 days..... We were back visiting family and trusted this place. I have one before picture of how my youngest Dalmatians (1.5 years old) at the time looked in January vs February when I picked her up....... I will say when I put her in my car I started to cry because she looked so sick. Both of my doggies had a large box of food, there was no food at all when I picked them up, so I'm confused if they actually ate? And did they run out and just not get fed????? My dogs LOVE to eat and are travelers, they are not shy!! I'm putting this review on here now because I've seen similar complaints from this place. I don't know if they specifically hate Dalmatians, but my girls did not deserve this treatment. So I ask. If they didn't eat, why wouldn't I be called?..... when I picked them up on February 20th and offered them water, they drank it down so fast like they had never seen water. The amount of food they ate made them sick, it was a hunger type fast paced eating..... I couldn't believe that a place I trusted so much had let me down this badly!!! So I have to ask do they target specific breeds??? Anyways I would NEVER recommend this place to anybody, and I'm disappointed....... We had to drive to Texas this same week and stopped at an emergency vet on the way because of increasing respiratory distress....... We thought we were gonna lose our poor baby over the incompetence of this day care/ boarding center....... DO BETTER!!!!! Especially when people pay all these extra fees to have the dogs in all day play/baths/suites..... This should have never happened!!!! read more

This place is very problematic. In my experience, they allow dogs who create instances (biting another dog, and not the first time) to remain at the daycare among the other dogs. The dog in question has had previous instances and was not kicked out - be careful if you don't want to receive a call in the middle of the day to go get your sweet angel to take to the vet for antibiotics and pain meds. read more

First time using Lucky Bones for boarding. Staff is friendly very helpful. Facebook page they posted pictures everyday and videos. That was a great idea so we could check to see if Maggie was interacting, playing, or just resting. Loved the pictures! She must have played hard because she slept for 1 whole day. Loved the report card of how she did, eating, playing, with the staff, ane who she played with or here friends. This is great to see she had a wonderful week. I took my Great Pyrenees in for a groom. Before scheduling, I specifically asked if they had experience grooming this breed and I was told yes. I spoke with the groomer face-to-face upon dropping him off. We discussed in detail what was to be done and I specifically said no shaving. His entire rear end and underbelly was shaved clear to the skin offering no protection for the upcoming winter. An experienced groomer knows to never shave a GP. I was charged $150 (after being quoted $80) and asked to pay before he was even brought out. Since what was to be done was discussed in detail, I didn't feel that there would be an issue, however that proved to be false. I spoke with owner over my concerns and was told "I thought he looked good but I did notice the shave as you left" and "what do you want me to do about it, I'm not a groomer". Incredibly appalling. Daycare review When I dropped my dog off at Lucky Bones Doggie Daycare on Dec 27, 2021 I expected that he would be safe and well taken care of. That was not the case. When I arrived to pick him up from daycare I turned on to Howe Industrial Parkway and there was Tucker running across the road loose right in front of me with a staff member chasing him. Needless to say I would not recommend Lucky Bones Doggie Daycare to anyone. I have to ask: why was he being walked out in front of the building if you have caged in runs? Why were you not using HIS collar which is sized for HIS neck? Why was he not being walked with the harness that was also provided and also sized to fit him? Again, I would not recommend Lucky Bones to anyone. read more

Took our dog there today, 11/29, at 8:30 a.m for grooming. Was told grooming would be completed between 3:00 and 4:00. As no call was received, called to check status at about 4:00; receptionist said she would have to check with the groomer, when the groomer was available. Said I would call back in 15 minutes. Called at 4:15 and indicated that I would be picking dog up in a few minutes. At about 4:20, picked dog up. No grooming done, only bathed. Excuse given was that there were 14 dogs being groomed that day. Clearly, the groomer was over booked. The groomer, and the owner were very confrontational when I asked why it took so long. I will NEVER recommend Lucky Bones for any type of pet care! read more

My very excitable Huckleberry has been to Lucky Bones for several of our out of state vacations. I will never take him anywhere else! We have had a few no so stellar experiences at other facilities, so initially we were hesitant when leaving him here, but his excitement during drop off and pure exhaustion post-stay have made us customers for life! We were new to town when we went to Lucky Bones for the first time. I was skeptical about taking our dog to a place that also does boarding or day care just for grooming, but after calling around and reading various reviews it seemed like one of our better options. We came in just to meet Sandy, the groomer, prior to making an appointment. We liked how new and clean the facility seemed. Sandy took good care of our old dog, who was in very poor health. He has since passed away, but the care and time Sandy took to make sure he could get a hair cut even in his compromised state of health was extremely touching. I appreciate the kindness and compassion we were shown during our interaction with Sandy and the folks at Lucky Bones. You would be hard pressed to find a better place to take your pup for a hair cut. read more

I'm very impressed with this establishment all the way around. Our new pup needed a grooming very badly, and I have been looking around for a reputable groomer in the area. Not many people Yelp in this area for some reason, so that makes it difficult. Lucky Bones graciously got my pup in this morning and was done grooming him in 2.5 hours. He's very clean, soft, and free from wounds etc. Additionally, the building is spotless and does not smell like animals. I could tell that all the animals in their care (boarded dogs, grooming dogs, etc) were in good hands. They were patient with my new pup too, and I'm very thankful for that. We will continue to use this groomer for monthly appointments. read more

I will never ever go to this groomer again. I have a Papillon dog which some people no are know for their beautiful coat and their intelligence. I gave specific instructions a on what I told them i wanted a sanitary cut on my dog Izzie. I also want her back legs trimmed back so poop won't get caught in her fur. I also included, shampoo, nail trim, anal glands,, brush her teeth and check her ears. She was in her carrier when I picked her up she was in her carrier so I didn't look at her. I let her out and they cut all her fringes were cut up and her chest was cut down shorter. When I complained to the groomer I said I was pissed she said to me I have other Papillons and I trim all of there fringes off and it's ok it will grow back. I said pardon me and that remark was totally unacceptable she is my dog. I belong to 2 fan clubs for the breed, and the cardinal rule is you never, ever cut the fringes The receptionist that was nasty is Candy. So $95 dollars later and I am sad telling me it will grow back. Really really. DO NOT GO GHERE. read more

Boarded our dog over Thanksgiving. Our dog loved it!!! She was so happy when we picked her up and she was tired the next couple of days from having so much fun playing during the day. We were excited to hear that the dogs were able to play from 8am-6pm each day, even on Thanksgiving!!! Staff was very friendly and facility looked great. Definitely will use them again! Outstanding price, since other boarding facilities charge for playtime, etc. which makes other boarders more expensive if you want your dog to play. read more

My puppy is afraid of the groomers due to an incident at petsmart where he was forcibly held down. I brought him here for an eye trim and bath, they took their time with him, he looked adorable, smelled fresh as daisy and wasn't in his usual melt down panic mode when I picked him up. She even gave me a suggestion on how to get him used to a full hair cut again by taking a massager down his back so he gets used to the buzzing. read more

We have tried to book here 2x and both times we have experienced nothing but hurdles and hoops to jump through. We prefer to support local business but I'd rather go to a chain at this point since there seem to be less hurdles to overcome. I joked to my husband about a week ago that at least they won't be booked a month out - no one can make appointments or obtain a schedule or prices. BUYER BEWARE - On 8/24/19 at 11:15, we dropped our dog off at Lucky Bones. They said that you could not drop off pets after 11:30. We picked up our dog before 3:30 on 8/25/19. Lucky Bones does not open (does not allow you to pick up dog) until 3:00 on Sundays for pick up. In summary, we dropped off at latest time possible and picked up at earliest time possible. Lucky bones still proceeded to charge us for 2 days of boarding. We should have been charged 1 day. This is a scam that they running against their customers. They are holding pets hostage until 3:00 on Sundays in order to make 35 extra dollars. When you drop off on Saturday, they should tell you that you will be charged for 2 days for Saturday night stays. This is not communicated with the customer. read more

Everyone here was really friendly, and we were able to get our 3 dogs in last minute. Our dogs played the entire weekend, and came home and slept for 2 days. On weekends they average 6 hours of "open" playtime (playtime with other dogs in the open area). They offer discounts for multiple dogs, and they administer medication. It lost a star because the open play area isn't very big... but at the same time they are out for long enough to where that doesn't really matter. read more

Mr. Z took a daytrip to Lucky Bones with his new friend and had a great time! He was there most of the day and didn't seem as exhausted as he normally is after daycare but Jo L.'s review explained why: the play area is smaller than his regular daycare. Even though Z is a Shiba Inu (who most people seem to think need to come with a warning label) the staff were great with him and accepted him right away! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Lucky Bones. Everyone here is so amazing- they genuinely love their jobs, as well as the animals they care for. My dog instantly forgets about me the moment we walk in the door because he's so excited to see everyone else. It's truly endearing. It makes my heart so happy to see them spoil my dog with as much love as he gets at home. I have boarded my dog as well as taken him to the daycare, and he is always happy and healthy looking when I pick him up. They give you report cards as well, which is both cute and helpful. I would not recommend. My friend is too nice to write a review so I am writing this on her behalf after her appalling experience. She scheduled a grooming appointment for her puppy, went to the appointment and they claimed they had no record of it. They told her she was a no call no show the previous day even though her email confirmation said otherwise. They told her to leave her dog and they'd get to him if they had time. Of course, they didn't have time. Told her to bring him the next day, when she did they said they had no record of it and they didn't have time to fit him in. They said to bring him the following week. She brought him the following week and IT HAPPENED AGAIN! They claimed they had no record of the ordeal and to leave him and they'd groom him if they had time. She declined and brought him the following day wherein they FINALLY groomed him. She is a lot nicer and calmer than I because I wouldn't have put up it. The staff was not apologetic, understanding nor competent enough to handle the situation timely nor with any sense of urgency. Being a dog owner myself, I am disgusted at what she had to go through to merely get her dog groomed at her appointment they scheduled. read more

We love Lucky Bones and so does our dog! In fact we cannot say the words "Lucky Bones" in his presence or he will happily run to the door, tall wagging and ready to go. A few things that impress us the most are: 1st - When any dog is tired of playing and needs their own space they give it to them. 2nd - We don't worry about his safety like you do at a dog park, they take socialized and friendly dogs. 3rd - Just as you care for a family member's comfort, that's how they will care about your dog or cat. - Michele & John read more

We have been taking our dog here for a couple months now. We have left her for over night stays and day care while my husband and I are at work. She loves this place! They are able to be out all day and play which is awesome. Especially if your in a situation where while at work your dog needs to be crated. They treat each dog like their own and I have nothing but confidence in leaving our "child" with the Lucky Bones staff. Such a relief! read more

I absolutely LOVE Lucky Bones! The staff is wonderful. They are energetic, friendly, and truly have a passion for the well-being of animals. We have taken our dog Nicco there several times. He goes typically 1 day a week and has stayed for overnighters as well. When he hears the words "daycare" he jumps up and heads toward the door his tail wagging away. He LOVES it there and the staff seems to love him too! Kelly goes over and above taking care of her clients. We have recently moved and will miss Lucky Bones and the great staff they have. I highly recommend Lucky Bones to anyone who has to leave their dog during the day or for long periods of time. The dogs all play together and really have a great time! read more

I felt completely at ease leaving my new dog at Lucky Bones last week! I was very nervous as we just rescued a dog who was confined for most of his life in a crate, so we really weren't sure how he'd do with a lot of other dogs, even though he's been great with the ones he's met since he's lived with us. Mitchell walked in, and someone (I think Boone?) took him by the leash and knelt down to his level and introduced himself. Mitchell walked right back into the play area with no issues. They were very thorough with check in and confirming what Mitchell would need and what he was allowed to do. Everyone I spoke to on the phone really took his story to heart and seemed to really care for each dog on an individual level. That made me feel like he was in good hands. We picked him up and found out he did great! His Puppy Sleepover report card confirmed this :) He was worn out too which is no easy feat! Will definitely be taking him back during our next vacation! read more
