But after showing up ready to replace our garage door opener we decided not to have them do the work. Why? They offered us three different choice in openers, one of them being the exact brand/model we almost purchased from Home Depot for $489. To purchase the one they had supplied on their truck, they quoted us a price of $1098 and $250 for the install. That's a 122% mark-up from retail on the unit. The mark up on the two models they offered were between 90 and 120% as well. Considering Goody probably gets their units at, or near, wholesale, that's around a 150% profit margin. I expect, and am all for, a company making a profit on selling their customers a market up price on a unit, but doing so at more that double the retail price is borderline unethical.
