Came out to Las Vegas with the family for vacation and to check out a couple places as we are planning on moving. It's Labor Day weekend so we wanted to do something off the strip thinking everything would be busy. My brother and his family came out a couple months ago and we saw that they had gone to lucky claw. We looked it up and found that they had a killer Groupon deal and were open on Labor Day so we decided to check it out. All the claw games range from 1-5 tokens each. They have several different token packages you can choose from aside from the Groupon deals they have. I would highly recommend checking Groupon first because the deal we purchased for 4 people was a killer deal. They have about 20 claw machines. Some are regular claw machines with plush prizes and some with squishy's and even pokemon cards. There is about 2 that are claw machines where you pick up dice and once the claw drops the die, in order to win, the dice have to match numbers to win a prize of your choice. The staff, specifically Felix, was super friendly! All machines were in great working order and aren't set to keep you losing over and over again before it lets you win anything. Plushies were all of good selection too! The staff is even nice enough to help you win a prize by moving the plushy you're trying to win in a spot where it should be easy to win. They even provide drawstring plastic bags for all the prizes you're able to win. They even give out complimentary water and juice while you're there. Once you're done playing, you're able to trade the won prizes for other prizes and even bigger prizes they have displayed behind the register. All in all, it was really fun and a great experience! So I got excited since a yelp review on the old business "the claw" highlighted they were open again; although this is the same location and still is a claw game business it is entirely new ownership and an entirely new name of business. Oddly there was a sign that reads "the claw" going to a back area; yet they "aren't affiliated" is what the employee told me. I did a lap around and stared at the machines and was left with such disappointment. The old "claw" location here was great very low cost, the new one most games were 4 token minimum and none of the prizes really wowed me other than the five nights at Freddy ones. The employee claimed "well we have officially branded merch the old one didn't" meanwhile I'm glancing at what is a Charizard from pokemon but a purple one.... If it's official brand why is he purple which is not accurate to the character is my question. I was so excited then so disappointed. It wasn't very busy inside either, the old location was crowded with lines for the games and it was a fun connected experience. The stuffed animals were packed tightly too, the old location would "adjust" the stuffed animals if you asked making them more winnable. TL;DR- fun experience and better than the chain claw machine place in LV. Definitely a go! Happy kids! We originally purchased Groupon back home (Chicago) with plans to take kids to claw machine during our travel. Upon arrival, there was a private birthday party and we couldn't play. We went to a different claw machine place, cuz you know... still gotta keep the promise to the kids. We thought about refunding Groupon but decided to give it a try another day. After having a disappointing experience at another claw machine place (refer to my previous review), I AM SO GLAD we came back!!!!!!!!! The plushies here are so cute and the staff is so friendly. If you really want to win, you can ask to adjust the chance of winning (they do this in Japan!). I liked the variety of plushie choices- Hello Kitty & friends, anime, typical bears, and even Pokémon cards! There is coffee and a massage chair for grown ups. I also liked the uniqueness of the games- roll dice and make all 3 to be even #s or 6s to win a prize. We were able to win a Cinnamoroll bookbag and my daughter was a happy camper! While the place "looks" smaller than other places, there were enough plushie choices to play and the probability of winning was higher. I've been to a few claw machine places, and I don't know if prices everywhere have just gone up, but at Lucky Claw Arcade the machines range from about 1-5 tokens per play. Even with the prices, my granddaughter still had a blast, and honestly, that experience is what we're really paying for. Felix's customer service was through the roof. Dude explained everything clearly, made sure we knew how everything worked, and really took care of us. I was already sold when I saw the free water and coffee , but his customer service made the experience even better.
