Two things ultimately lead me to a negative review, and I assure you, both are avoidable. 1) Did I get what I paid for. 2) Did the business make the situation right after the problem was brought to their attention. In this matter, the transaction should have been simple, I needed my windshield replaced. That means, I come in, you replace the windshield correctly and hopefully, I don't see you for a long while. None of that happened. Things did not start off well, but I will blame my insurance agent for 90% of the issue. I told them where I wanted to take my care, but they continued to push Safelite. They scheduled my service with Safelite and told me that the business I chose could have the claim transferred. When I came to Lucky Dog, they called the 3rd party State Farm uses and their computers were down and they advised they planned to be back online in less than 90 minutes. That meant Lucky Dog wasn't going to start service for 90 minutes despite me having an appointment. Not wanting to wait, I suggested they verify coverage with my agent despite already showing them my insurance card that denoted a $0 deductible. I felt challenged, like I wasn't being honest and what bothered me most is they told me service would take up to 3 hours. So why not start service and if there is any issue with payment, we work it out in the end. They refused to do so, so my service was delayed about an hour. Ok, not my business and I felt if Joe was being that thorough on payment, his people would be that thorough on installation. Service was complete and I left. I also noted I was not offered either of the two items they advertised with windshield replacement. It was a $25 refund or new wiper blades. Since I Just replaced the blades, I was going to request the $25 cash, but it wasn't offered. 2 days later, the rain began that lead to record flooding. I was driving and noticed I couldn't see. It was scary and dangerous, because visibility is the foundation for safe driving. I looked down and the wipers that are automated were in the auto mode. I turned them from auto to on and they began to work. Once home, I called Lucky Dog and scheduled to come back to have the system looked at. When I arrived there the following week, I asked for Joe, the owner, he was on the east cost according to staff. I also noticed a bubble where the windshield sensor was and I pointed that out to the tech. He drove the car, confirmed the auto wipers were not working and went to work. After about 90 minutes, he told me the system had been fixed and apologized the work wasn't done correctly the first time. Again, no offer for blade replacement or cash rebate was made. In the end, the work was not done correctly the first time. A serious safety issue was the result of it and none of the offers that came with service were offered and I had to take nearly 3 hours of my personal in pursuit or having them do what they failed to do on my original appointment. Lucky Dog got full payment, but did not provide the service or support I expected. And rather than take another 2 hours to drive back and talk to Joe, I felt my time would be better served leaving a detailed review. Mistakes happen, but as I say, the measure of a business is what they do when this transpires. I am not at all impressed with Lucky Dog and how this all shook out. read more

BE AWARE THEY CHARGE 3% FEE FOR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT!! First the good things: they answered the phone promptly and in house (no stupid call centers) and they were also the quickest to be able to schedule my chip repair, which was great. Also, it was extremely fast, as I waited less than 15 minutes for the chip repair to be completed. However, as mentioned previously they charge a 3% fee to use a credit card, which is frustrating because I don't know many people who can easily pay for a repair or replacement from petty cash. Worse though is that the chip is COMPLETELY noticeable. I've had chip repairs done before where you can't even tell there was a chip, but this is directly in my line of sight and it interferes with my driving, so it's very annoying. EDIT: the objections to the credit card fee is that it's not disclosed when quoting your "all-in" price. I get that it's a fee being charged by banks, but many businesses don't pass on that cost as an additional charge, so if you're going to quote via phone, then at least include that cost. Secondly, the more I look at this "repair" the more angry I get. This was obviously rushed - the cracks are not filled, it's not nearly the quality of workmanship I've had done in the past (and having driven for 30 years, I've had this done quite a bit) and it just feels rushed and poorly done. And being told I should spend $400 instead of $100 if I didn't like the job you did feels quite scammy. Removing another star for the ick factor of feeling scammed. UPDATE: I took this to another 5-star rated glass shop, and they agreed that the workmanship was rushed and shoddy, but there's nothing to be done about that now because the epoxy has hardened, so I'm resigned to living with this until the windshield actually cracks. My Car was Broken into and the Right Rear Window was shattered. Geico is my Insurance Carrier and they said to contact Safelite Auto Glass. On 11-28-21 Safelite said they could get to it on 12-13-21. Safelite authorized the use of a Rental Car from Enterprise. We were able to make a call to Lucky Dog Auto Glass and found out that they could schedule us for the next day. We scheduled with Lucky Dog and brought the car in the next day. The replacement was completed three hours earlier that we were told and we were very happy with the service we received. Got scheduled in a few days to fix a small rock chip repair (smaller than a penny) for my Tesla Model Y. Thought this was great since other shops were pretty booked up. I brought my car to their shop and their repair work had resulted in a large crack in the windshield. They advised that this rarely happens and that it was just unfortunate to happen to me. A ~$100 repair has now turned into a windshield replacement around $1500. Their business didn't hold any responsibility and I'm left with a much emptier wallet. Even if this is a risk involved with repairing rock chips, I needed to report this here to make sure their track record is honest. Why doesn't the business have insurance to cover these rare instances? If I had a rock chip on my car, I would think twice before coming to this shop. read more

******UPDATE: 9/19/21****** Just fixed my window regulator on my own but wanted to give everyone an update on the kind of work that this place does. My brother is a diesel mechanic for Penske and helped me fix my window. He found the problem and saw that there was zip ties used to clamp the regulator basically a job done behind closed door which wasn't the proper way of doing things. In the end, this company could have been professional and said that something was broken, which they knew, and needed be replaced but in my opinion they're only out to get your money. Yes, this is water under the bridge, the owner and I have talked, but it's just sad that there are companies out there that do thing the easy way than the proper quality way. *********************************************** I'm not one to complain about this or write in but this needed to be written. My car got broken into on Tuesday 8/24/21 and I went in search for a place that could replace my drivers side window promptly. I found Lucky Dog as they were close to home and saw they have great reviews. I called and spoke to Miranda and she was able to fit me in for the same day! Very appreciative of all her kindness! Took about 2 hours to complete the repair and out of pocket about $250 for a new drivers side window replacement. (Insurance didn't cover). Took truck home and left it home. (didn't even don on me to test out the window as I assumed it was fixed) About 3 days later, I went to use the truck for the first time after getting it repaired and rolled down the window. A weird squeaky noise was coming from the window and so I rolled the window up and down another time, 2nd time around, the window busted off the regulator. I called Lucky Dog (as I was already on my way there) to let them know of the situation. Got to lucky dog and Miranda and the tech that replaced the window came out to diagnose the window. Sure enough, tech says that the window has come off the regulator and would need be replaced. He also said that he tested the window 5-6x prior to releasing the vehicle to me. But, in all honestly, I think it's pretty baffling to me that it broke after its 7-8x rolling down. He also said that, "this happens to regulators when cars get broken into." In my head, I'm thinking, if that was the case, why didn't they catch this earlier and inform me it needed to be replaced from the get go?! Miranda was kind enough to try and help me find the part by calling auto store around, as they didn't have it in stock, and confirmed that they could fit me in for same day repair if I could find the part and bring it there. Little did she leave out that it would cost an additional $150 for them to fix it! Along with me having to purchase the part! I backed out of service and went to other options. All in all, the window should've been replaced (regulator and all) from the get go, especially for the price that was paid and tech history known about car break ins and window replacements. (I paid $250 for a whole windshield replacement and come-to-home mobile service on my other vehicle in the past with another company, and yes, I tried to find that previous company used but guess they went out of business so Lucky dog was the next best thing.) Customer service was good, however, I don't think I'll be using lucky dog again or recommending them! read more
