I'm such a last minute planner and ran to lucky dog to grab a cake for my dogs 1st Birthday. Loki loved the experience and had his first taste for duck feet and birthday cake.

My Cavalier, Gertie, and I love Lucky Dog Barkery! It is by far my favorite dog store in Dallas. They have the absolute best quality products, customer service, and selection, plus they have a loyalty program! Firstly, they're the only store I've found that has a core value of providing the best food and products for our dogs. You won't find the junk that the big box stores sell, so you can be 100% confident you're buying the BEST products when you're at Lucky Dog. It's the only local store I've found that sells Answers!! Plus they also have Stella & Chewy's, Primal, and Farmina. I can also get all my dog's raw bones and treats.  Second, best customer service hands down! I went in yesterday and they helped me find Gertie a running hoodie. They seriously spent 20 minutes going through pros and cons and finding the right fit. I felt so bad taking their time but they wouldn't let me settle... honestly so great! Finally, they have everything in terms of themed toys, clothing, etc.  This is very specific... but I have a small pup, so I love that they sell different sizes bandanas that are slim cut so they look normal on her, versus only the standard size bandanas that are just huge (pictures included to show what I mean). I've been going to Lucky Dog since I first brought Gertie home, so apologies for taking this long to write a review. But thank you Lucky Dog for providing the best for our Dallas dogs!!

Disclosure: I have visited Lucky Dog Barkery 1 time. Lucky Dog Barkery is a dog bakery and novelty shop where you can buy all sorts of gifts, toys, treats, and of course baked goods for your special dog. The items here are high end gourmet with prices to match, but your lucky dog should be worth it right? My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Walking to Lucky Dog feels more like visiting a nice antique shop vs. a dog store. There's hand scraped hard wood, solid wood displays, and great items furnished throughout. It doesn't make you feel like you're shopping for a dog. You feel like you're shopping for a friend. 1 Star. Service - While there was only one employee, they were very friendly and helpful. They assisted us in picking out our gifts for the birthday dog. Good people because they're dog people. 1 Start. Facility\Shop - They're selection is high end. You'll find gourmet baked treats, dried treats, and a large selection of dried dog food. You can buy toys, college related items, bowls, beds, and anything a spoiled dog needs. Not much is labeled, so if you need something specific it may be hard to find so be sure you ask. Also, you are buying items at a premium vs. Petsmart but you get quality in what you pay for. 1 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - I don't own a dog so I won't return often. But Lucky Dog is on my list for unique gift items for my friends with canines. And if you own a dog, it's worth a visit for at least a cupcake! 1/2 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Facility - I'll award up to two stars for the facility, since this is the main reason we go out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the facility. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score

I don't write reviews often. And I never thought I'd write one for a pet store-- but Lucky Dog Barkery is deserving of unlimited 5 star reviews! We rescued a young pup recently and I stumbled upon the Barkery and have loved it ever since. Some of the reasons I love it so much.... 1. They gave us the sweetest sample box for our new puppy and when I came back to buy a treat that they no longer carried they gave me extra samples and gave me a great alternative! 2. One of the wonderful employees recommended a puzzle toy that has changed kennel time for our pup Doug! So grateful for his recommendation (West Paw Tizzi) 3. Dougie just got neutered and I had gotten a soft cone before the procedure but we realized that our flexible boy was able to reach the incision in the cone! They let us come to exchange sizes even though the first cone was used and I'm SO grateful. We go here for nearly all of our needs for our pup now. THANK YOU LUCKY DOG

    Can't wait to do this!

$15 per small dog toy?! Jerky and treat bar is great though. Small bday cakes are $25 bucks which is way overpriced.

Extremely disappointed with grooming at Petco Lovers Lane (University Park)…read more I took my calm, well-behaved 9-year-old dog Ralph here because my usual Petco Cedar Hill was booked. Huge mistake. The salon was clearly overbooked, communication was terrible, and the grooming staff had attitudes anytime we asked for updates. What should've been a 4-hour groom took 6.5 hours with zero proactive communication. At pickup, I was suddenly charged a $30 handling fee with no real explanation--despite Ralph being calm and never having this fee at other locations. Ironically, my other dog Luna (who actually has anxiety) has been groomed here before with no handling fee. The groom itself was rushed and sloppy: shed release clearly wasn't done (hair still everywhere), teeth brushing wasn't done though it was included, and his Australian Shepherd coat was cut way too short, almost shaved, despite asking for a basic round trim. Important note: Their training department is excellent. My other dog Luna trains here, and Emma is absolutely the best--kind, patient, fun, and extremely talented. Luna has come a long way because of her. Unfortunately, the grooming experience was the complete opposite. After reading similar Google reviews, this seems to be a pattern. We will never return for grooming. If you care about your dog, go to Petco Cedar Hill instead--they are consistent, professional, and genuinely care.

Many other pet puppy places conduct adoptions. No one knows the personality of a dog (just like a person). Why not adopt an adorable adult dog that you can know how it behaves and whether it is right for you household. I found my visit to this location making me think about ethical behavior associated with animals in our world. Please consider adoption. Many puppies and young adult dogs and cats are destroyed every year because of lack of adoptions Just saw this! I let the person at the store know about it and she said it probably just had a cold, took it back from me and put it back with 4 other puppies. I asked what the process was for situations like this, in the event that I left with a puppy and it became ill. The girl didn't say a word she just looked at me and walked away. It was super strange but I thought maybe she didn't hear me. I walked back to the front to ask if I could see another puppy. She didn't say a word, again, but brought the other dog. The next dog they gave had feces all over its bottom and smelled like dead animals but nonetheless- I was trying to clean him and was interested in leaving with a pup. I played with him for a while and was trying to find her to ask for the price but waited about 40 minutes and she was pacing around the store and seemed very stressed or overstimulated so I waited until she got closer. I asked the price and was told it was $5500. I said that it seemed kind of high BECAUSE IT IS and asked what came with it. She said that they are the #1 pet land in the country and if I didn't get the dog someone else would because they never have dogs for more than a couple of weeks. I ignored the poor customer service and passive aggressive comments and behavior because again she seemed stressed and panicked with another person also playing with a puppy. After another associate told me I could place the pet on hold while I considered, I asked the person I was originally working with to place the pet on hold and was told it's 30 minutes. I wasn't sure if I needed to give her my info or what next steps were so I was standing near the front waiting for her to give direction and she asked why I was just standing there... I said I didn't need anything and would go home to consider, thanked her for her time- again, zero response and she just stared at me. I left because I just had a terrible experience and wasn't sure I wanted to my money to go toward a company that clearly doesn't care about their animals or their customers. I called today to ask more questions about the pet since my questions were disregarded yesterday and spoke to Teagan who said he had no information, pricing and couldn't give any info that I didn't get yesterday because he was "off site in a call center". When visiting yesterday, I remember seeing people sitting in the back and realized he actually is not off site or in a call center- but is visibly sitting in the back of the store next to the training area. Teagan told me that the price of the pets are starting at $1300 and the extra (required) add ons- like unlimited nail trimming and a bag of food, make the price increase to $5500. Teagan continued to repeat that he can't give me any more information and I would have to come into a store. I asked if there was someone else I could speak to for my few questions, and he asked why I wanted to speak to anyone else. I reiterated again that I wanted to ask some questions before driving an hour for questions that could be answered over a call. He put me on hold then again refused to allow me to speak to anyone and again told me to come down to the store. Then he offered to "transfer me to speak to someone in financial services to see if I can even afford the dog." If I couldn't afford the dog, I wouldn't be inquiring again today and wanting to ask more questions... The customer service is horrendous. The staff is not knowledgeable. They are inattentive and seem completely bothered by customers asking very basic questions about the pets they are selling. I can only image how they treat the pets if they are this combative, aggressive and disrespectful to customers. The whole process seems extremely scammy and bizarre and I am genuinely concernedwith the health and safety of the pets after what I witnessed yesterday with an ill pet being placed back into a cage with others while another was covered in feces. Extremely disappointing.
