LOVE this cute little dog store right in the heart of State Thomas/Uptown. This is the must stop place for all your dog treats and specialty foods/goods. My favorite tradition is the past 3 years I've gone to get my dog's birthday treats from here (photo'd below). There's tons of fun birthday and regular treats to choose from and when I'm in the area I try to pop by and get my dog a treat every now and then. They also do a really good job of keeping you informed if their hours are changed for holidays or other reasons. I always like to check their social media (instagram) to make sure they are open before I go! They also offer dog washing stations and a dog yard membership as well which is really cool. I walked my dog over from Mutt's Cantina (it's about a mile away) and I'm so glad we stopped at Uptown Pups! They have so many great treats, toys, and essentials it's seriously a dog lover's dream. This store is Incredible!! I was in town visiting a friend and stopped in for some treats for her dogs, but I was thoroughly floored by their inventory! I work in rescue and canine nutrition and fell in love with this shop. The owner is a certified canine nutritionist and it shows in the brands of food and treats she sells. They sell everything from the higher tier foods to the budget friendly, but still high quality, options. Even their fun stuff like slow feeders, toys, leashes/collars are from some of the best brands, not the same old stuff you see at most pet stores. This place was wonderful for a self service bath for my 12 year old Doberman, Lady! Lady is arthritic and pretty big but, they have these great ramps that she was able to walk up with some assistance. They helped me with getting her in and showed me how everything works. My dog is afraid of the hair dyers usually but they do have them and offered to introduce them next time without the top on so she won't be afraid but for this time I opted to towel dry. Lady then went shopping and picked up a few treats! Definitely will be back! read more

I went to Uptown Pup to use their self-wash station. The store was spectacularly clean and well-organized, especially considering that it is a pet supplies store. They had a great selection of foods, toys, and collars/harnesses. The self-washing stations were so cute, with multiple options for shampoos and after-bath sprays that were included with the bath. They explained how to use each part of the bath, and gave tips on how to best use the equipment. The water was even nice and warm! My #thankyouthursday review goes to Uptown Pup Dallas. Ever since we moved here, my lady and I have been looking for a local pet store to purchase both treats and raw dog food. Using Yelp, we found this place not too far from our apartment. This biz resides in a house on the corner of Thomas Avenue and Allen Street, and across from several bars that become super rowdy on the weekends. (Thanks, football.) With that being said, due to this area's hustle and bustle, patrons may find it difficult to find parking on the street, since they don't have their own lot. Aside from that small inconvenience, which they can't help, they pack this humbly-sized store with everything a dog owner could ever want. Gigantic bed? Local beef treats? Chew toys? Also, I forget his name, but the person working there answered all of our questions without any eye-rolling, huffing, or puffing. I'll be getting my dog food from here as long as I live in Dallas. Had the best first experience here this weekend. I came in with my dog to give her a bath at one of the self-wash stations and Lauren and Kevin couldn't have been nicer! Kevin assisted me throughout the entire bath process and lend a hand when necessary. My dog isn't a huge fan of baths, particularly the dryer, but this was by far the best experience we've had yet. The soap comes out of the same hose the water does which makes it so easy when washing. The dryer has several settings so you can ease your dog up to the highest setting. They also have these great little comfort things to slide on your dogs head to make the noise not as harsh. They have such a great selection of treats, food, toys, and tons of accessories. It's hard not to buy everything because it's all so cute. Such a great local business. A future customer for life!!! read more

I mainly came here for the self wash dog baths, but I didn't realize how great Uptown Pup was until I moved from Dallas. The baths were always clean and everything that you could possibly need for your bath was there. I liked the extra touches that they included to make your pups more comfortable, like the happy headbands for the blow dryers and the probiotic sprays for after baths. Kevin and Lauren were always helpful and you could tell they are passionate about their business. Parking was a little rough, but that is expected with the convenient Uptown location. read more

This is such a cute place to shop for your pup! I get my pups food here and ask all my nutrition questions! They have a yard membership which is great - smaller than other large parks so it's less stressful for my dog. They also have a spa with great shampoo selections. Fantastic pet store! My dog and I walked to this spot to get some puppy holiday gifts. The staff is extremely friendly, and even have a few furry greeters. They are extremely knowledgeable of the products they carry, and even offered to look into specific products to bring in at request. I don't write very many negative reviews and feel the need to remind people that when they see one that it is one person's opinion. With that said, I moved into the State Thomas neighborhood in June. When we toured a few months prior we decided to check out the local options and were thrilled when we found this place. The self wash was nice and reasonable. Lauren greeted us and was very nice. They seem to be an excellent source of knowledge regarding healthy food and treats and other things for your pet. We moved in and instantly went down to wash one of our dogs. Lauren guided us through how to use the wash, but then we were in a constant state of micromanagement only allowed to use soap sparingly and constant check ins. Didn't think anything about it. A couple weeks went on and we noticed they are constantly adjusting hours and it was inconvenient a couple of times for us. We kept going periodically and met Kevin who took the micromanagement of the washes to a new level. Constantly checking in and telling me how to wash my dog even though I had multiple times before at similar places. You feel judged and hurried. Several months of random closing and adjusted hours (when they are open minimally in the first place) and I pointed out to others that I do not see them staying in business long, because it can't be inconvenient for just me. After repeated judging about not buying food from them I was sold on switching my dogs food, despite the price. They closed early one evening on a day I was running late and ran out of food and was shocked to find out that Hollywood feed carried the same bag of food for $15 dollars less and is not much further of a drive. That kind of difference is not enough for me to support the small business. After they had their baby, they had to close, because they didn't have the help they need to stay open while they were at the hospital and coming home, which is understandable when just the two of them run it. When they did reopen self washes were not available (assuming they cannot trust the staff they did hire to micro manage like them). More adjusted and shortened hours and I didn't check and walked my dog down for a wash. Walked in 45 minutes before closing and was turned away. They did it. They finally lost me as a customer. I understand their policies are their policies and they can run their business however they want to. However, I do not see them lasting with the high margins they run, their judging mentality, and inconvenient hours. If you have all the money and an extremely flexible schedule it's a great place, but I don't have those things and will take my business elsewhere. I also know they like to share their bad reviews as a joke on their IG and funny how they don't really exist anymore. Anyway, decide for yourself, but food is cheaper at Hollywood feed, they have a better assortment, and they will do free delivery. Also, pet bar is a great place to do a self wash for your dogs. read more

Not enough words to describe how much I LOVE THIS PLACE! From the second we walked in to the second we left every aspect of our visit was wonderful. It's the cutest little pet boutique in Dallas with the absolute best service. We came in for the self wash which costs $12. Let me just start by saying my 8 month old black lab HATES baths - he's always squirming around trying to get out of the tub getting me soaking wet in the process, but because of their poly pet tubs his and our experience was the complete opposite of the usual. They have high quality products available for use so I didn't even have to use my own shampoo. PLUS many other things that really add that special touch and added to the experience. Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and even helped us with Huey's bath. I cannot wait to get back from traveling for the holidays so I can come here & shop.
