With my fur baby's birthday approaching, I thought it would be fun to get her a cake to celebrate. I googled dog bakeries and was so happy to see this new bakery in Las Colinas. Perfect! Upon entering, a tasty aroma met me immediately. All treats are made in-house in a spacious kitchen. No junk here. No chemicals. All ingredients that are found in most homes. I am not sure if the employee was the owner or not but she was super friendly! She gave me a tour of all of the treats that she offers and I met her little mascots- 2 Chihuahuas :) I chose a cake and she whipped it up for me with my dog's initial. It was bundled up in an adorable tiny cake box! My dog enjoyed the cake and loved the peanut butter icing. I will definitely be a return customer. read more

This is probably one of the coolest places I've ever been! It's like a Starbucks for dogs (and people). There's so many different pup treats which is super fun. They also have a huge dog play area with toys galore. They do "yappy hours" it's just such a neat concept. Highly recommend! read more

Ordered cupcakes, a filled bone and birthday hats on June 19th and received on June 26th. The box was delivered to a locker as nothing on the box mentioning perishable so of course the items were covered in mold. When I was able to reach out to them to show photos and ask for a refund or replacement, I was told this wasn't their fault. That items are shipped frozen so not possible to be already moldy. Which is completely absurd as in this Texas heat nothing would stay frozen in a closed hot cardboard box. There was absolutely nothing in the box to keep it cold. This is a 100% their fault for shipping perishable items like that. They declined the refund but said that they'd send a replacement. A week later I reached out and of course they did not send it out and wanted to accuse me of leaving it in the locker again. This has been such a horrible experience all around and I will never do business with this place or recommend to anyone. read more

My dog's birthday cake was amazing! I ordered the meat cake, which was 6 inches in diameter. It was the perfect size for medium/large-sized dog. I really wanted to try the treats but decided to hold off. They currently are in transition for a new store front, so you can purchase their items and online orders from a trailer that they have posted in various locations on different days of the week. I wasn't aware of the varying days of hours of operation for the truck and had placed my cake order for pick up on a day they weren't open. However, the owner allowed me to pick up Gizmo's cake at her living space (I think!) so that I could have it the day of his birthday. She was so sweet, and I am happy to have gotten my dog's birthday cake from Homegrown Hounds. I can't wait to try the rest of the treats! Definitely need to make a stop at their trailer. Great place to take your dog where they can get treats and play time in the cool AC. My dog Duke is there everyday that you're open. From the bacon ice cream to raw bones to the chicken jerky and even cooking my dogs food now, duke loves it all! Monthly events are the best. Living within walking distance of Homegrown Hounds makes me never want to move. My dogs LOVE coming here, there's space for them to run & enjoy all the smells of the place. Our lab mix actually hops & jumps like a bunny in excitement when she's here. The baked goods are so good my beagle actually CRIED while eating it (Ice cream sandwich was the treat). He was so happy he kept licking the ground where the treat was just to make sure it was all gone. I wish I got that on video. Possibly the most amazing dog bakery I have been to and it appears they offer even more services. My dog and I just stopped in to grab a few treats though. One of the treats we got was a cookie that was soft and smelled so fragrantly of gingerbread that I tried a bite. And it was good! My dogs agreed and scarfed it down. We will be back! read more

Melanie, the owner, is always at the shop with lots of treats for my babies. I bring all 4 of them and they get their pictures taken, goodies, and toys (when I'm feeling generous) ;) My favorite thing about this shop is that Melanie knows so much about herbs that help the health of your dog. My dog, Bear, had mast cell tumors and they aggravated her so bad.... Melanie told us what herb to buy and in 3 weeks ALL the tumors were gone! NO surgery, no pain, just some herbal pills for, like, $30. She saved me over $400 in vet bills (which I had paid to have the first tumor removed surgically) before I met her.
