Highly recommend Pet Supplies Plus on Mockingbird for all your pets needs. First off, the staff is amazing!! Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It's easy to get lost when it comes to deciding on a dog food brand. I've been to other pet stores and they don't compare to this place in the level of service. I purchase Winston's dog food here and they have food for every type of dog/ cat and based on your pet's specify breed and dietary needs. Also, they have an area in the back where you can bath your pup and it's equipped with all kinds of soaps, blow dryers and bath towels. Prices are pretty competitive and I'm a part of their rewards program and often receive deals and coupons through email. Last time I bought Winston's 25lb Merrick dog food, I saved 25% which I will gladly take! They have all kinds of treats, refrigerated foods and raw feed along with a bakery display filled with all kinds of creative, festive dogs treats for every holiday. The store is always clean and they are always well stocked on pet food. My only complaint is that if they are going to ask every single female customer if they need help carrying out a bag of dog food, they should also ask every single male as well. Every single time I buy dog food, they ask if I need help getting the bag from my cart to my trunk, yet they have never once asked my husband when he goes to buy the dog food. Not one single time, and that's not cool. They need to ask everyone, and not just pick out all women as fragile and unable. Update: Now they don't even ask if you need help if you are a female and STILL don't ask males. Now they just get on their intercom if you are a female and call for 'cart roundup'. AKA, they have pinned you as being unable to get the bag of dog food out of the cart that you somehow put into the cart without help. Hmm, I guess that doesn't cross their minds. I didn't know what they were calling for the first time it happened. Then some skinny high school kid that I could probably bench press showed up and grabbed my cart. I almost started laughing and said no thanks. The next time, I knew what they were calling for and interrupted the girl and told her I don't need help. But again, a male showed up to help the helpless female. The third time it happened, I decided to make a point, lifted the bag over my shoulder, and walked out, with about four employees staring with their mouths open. Our 12 year old dachshund is only able to eat soft food and canned food doesn't offer her the nutrition she needs as a senior. PSP's selection of fresh/frozen pet foods are the best! I asked for help with a 38 pound bix of litter and was told no. I was shocked. I guess the manager regretted it because when I bought a 25 bag, he called for assistance. The manager at the store, Ruben, is extremely rude, inconsiderate, and lacks problem solving skills. As the store manager, his job is to problem solve, work with customers that are dissatisfied and having problems/questions, and offer a solution. Ruben did NONE of the above. Here is the story -- I am a reward member and from speaking to the person in front me when checking out I was told that today there was 20% off your purchases for reward members and the coupon would have been sent via email. The problem was that after verifying my email in their system (which was correct) and showing my email/explaining to the manager that I have not been getting ANY emails at all from Pet Supplies Plus, he refused to honor the 20% discount on the dog food I was buying. I checked my junk/spam inbox and there has never been an email sent to me from Pet Supplies Plus. The customer should always get the benefit of the doubt in this situation and the manager should have offered the 20% discount since my email was clearly in their system and correct but they must have a technical issues causing me not to get emails. He didn't do anything to help at all. Instead, the customer in front of me offered to pay for my bag of dog food so I could get the discount and pay her in cash. It was a problem that could have very easily been resolved but Ruben was helpless and lacked the most basic problem solving/leadership skills I would have expected. He didn't apologize, didn't offer anything for my frustration or the problem they are having with emails not being sent to customers, refused to offer the discount and was going to force me to pay full price. Clean, friendly and good prices seem to define this place well. They really seem to care about the job and keeping this place clean compared to the bigger chains. I went here after the big box pet store didn't have one item we needed. I should've come here first! Dog food was cheaper than the sale price at the big shop. Same with the food storage bin, cheaper again. They may not be as big as others, but if you count out the hamsters and birds, they have just as much space for dog and cat supplies. I just recently started shopping at Per Supplies Pet and I have been getting the best deals. Yesterday before heading to the store I got online and looked at there ad. Not only did I find a $5 off coupon but the dog food I buy was buy one get one half off. The employees always are helpful. The few times I have been in the store it's never very busy. In the back they have an area you can wash your dogs. They provide shampoo and even aprons to wear so your clothes don't get dirty. The prices really are affordable especially if you have signed up for their program. Also if you check in on yelp there is a $7 coupon. Not only did I get a great deal but then was able to use both coupons in my sale without anyone giving me a hard time. You really can't beat the prices or service. read more

I'm getting spoiled by having the ability to receive same day home deliveries or curbside pick up options when I shop. I'm finding nearly all the items my dogs need, most of which is at a better price at PSP, and to make it even better, I can make online orders afterhours and just plan to either do curbside pick up or have it delivered to my home. Being able to have it delivered "same-day" has saved me more than once when I realized I ran out of K9Advantix! But maybe what is pretty neat overall is even though I am not coming in to shop like I used to every few weeks or so, the staff at the Mockingbird store still knows me when they see my orders come through. read more

I went in today to buy a couple things and my bill was almost $30 so what I purchased some of the things were on sale and yet that woman rang them up wrong. I told her that some of the items that I purchased were on sale and she went ahead and just charged me whatever price she wanted to charge me. I told her I would like to get a refund on some of the things that I purchased but she said I can only give you like $.80 cents. I checked out at Medina F Register. I bought a pet mate collar that wax $16.98 some dog treats that were $5.97 but were marked as sale item for $ 2.00 and some colored dog treats that were priced at $ 1.25.I know that this could not come to a price of almost $30 dollars. read more

I love the store overall and I've been going here (along with the location at Ross and Greenville) twice a month for years. It's always well-stocked and clean, the prices are very competitive, and the employees are incredibly helpful. The only reason I don't give them five stars is because the last two times I've been in - at the exact time that Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations have skyrocketed in Dallas - I have been the only person in the store wearing a mask, either customer or employee. I know they can't control what their customers do, but if they care so little about their customers that they can't be bothered to wear a mask, I'll go down the street for the foreseeable future. read more

I use to be a frequent Petsmart customer because of convenience and location, but after being let down by them on so many occasions, I don't even bother going there anymore. This review is only for grooming service. I love their knowledgeable pet supply staff. I'd give them5 star without a doubt. I reserved their grooming service and took my 2 big dogs for a grooming service. Well, maybe I should called it "washing only service". When I got there 30min later, my dogs were waiting by the cashier area WET!!!! I didn't know drying dogs would be extra or something I needed to ask them to do!? And I asked them to cut dogs nails as well when I dropped them off but I'm not sure they didn't hear it or what it wasn't done. When I ask about it they say they can't do it that day because they're about to close. WTF... So I ended up driving home WET dogs inside my car with long nails not trimmed... And let me tell you. One of the dog developed ear infection shortly after that. So thanks again! Unless you have the proper trained groomers on site I think they should just focus on selling per supplies! read more

So glad I found this gem of a pet store. I have a bit of pet store selection in my 'hood and I've tried them all, but I keep coming back to PSP. First of all, I've never seen such variety. And the really amazing thing is that none of the foods here are the kinds sold in the grocery store/WalMart. These are brands that someone did research on before letting them appear in the store. Anything I've seen as a top rated dog food can be found here. I actually went here initially because I read that the staff is trained to know about dog food. I needed someone who could help my dog stop farting. It was getting out of control. Most recently she was eating Blue Buffalo, which comes highly recommended. It wasn't doing her any favors. After meeting with the manager at PSP, I came home with a mixture of Bravo Raw Meat patties and Nutri-Source for adult dogs. I learned that the Nutri-Source had one of the shortest ingredient lists. No matter how much reading I do online, its nice to have someone that knows what theyre talking about to get you in the right direction. Another one of my favorite things is that the prices are extremely reasonable. I'm feeding my frenchie some fancy ass shit. She eats better than me some nights...and she couldn't do that if her food wasn't affordable. Anyway, I can't say enough awesome things about PSP. If you know how obsessed with my dog I am (ask to see her birthday cake, I dare you lol), you'll know what that really means. read more

When we got our puppy, Roy, we learned real quick about dog foods and which ones are WONDERFUL, and which ones are compared to feeding your dog McDonald's every day. We also learned the foods that are truly great for your dogs aren't sold in most stores....even the almighty Pet Smart! Sooooooo....we were led to this jewel of a a store. First, it's huge...and FULL of pet products that the owner and employees truly believe in and confirm are great for your little buddy. Second, the owner and employees are all genuinely glad you are there, always anxious and willing to help you find whats perfect for YOUR pet. Friendly faces all around...you find yourself chatting with them like you've known them for years.....and I think that's kinda nifty. And Third.....the prices are legit. By that I mean, you are paying for what you are getting. The food prices range from inexpensive to "You're gonna pay THAT for a bag of dog food!??!"......but people, you are getting exactly what you pay for. If you pay $20 for a small bag of dog food, it's because it is truly an amazing product that will be great for your pet....not because it is marked up. I dunno...they just have a passion for animals, and want only the best for every single one. I like Pet Supplies Plus much better than PetSmart for a few reasons. 1. Closer to my house and easier to get to. It is a testament to my laziness that PetSmart is only probably a half mile down the street but this place just seems so much more reasonable when I need a quick pickup. 2. Less slammed with everyone and their mom'n'em. This makes it easier for me to get in and get out with what I need. 3. Huge selection! I felt like they had more dog and cat food selections than PetSmart for one. They also had an entire selection devoted to clothes for your dog. So if you have a dog and you want to dress him up they have a huge selection. They also had many choices of collars for my new kitty - he's rocking the black with rhinestones because he's a pimp like that. They also had interesting dog treats that looked like frosted cookies and whatnot. AND free doggie biscuits by the cash register!! 4. Super friendly cashiers and staff. Holy Lord, a retail place where the people working there aren't bitter about slaving away and dealing with the public? Sweet!! The cashier asked my kitty's name and told me about their inexpensive vaccine program and also signed me up for their frequent shopper program. 5. They round up your change to the nearest dollar and give it to a pet charity (I'm blanking on which one). That's a cool idea - a place that gives back! It's significantly less expensive than anything else out in the market. Shout out to my girl Emilie who kept the dog wash open late for me and my stinky Westie Paris. Pro tip on the dryers. Remove the cone at the end so you get a nicer, more even airflow. Wash basins are a little low, which may cause some back strain. This was my first visit. It was a bit overwhelming with all the choices for dog food, treats, bones, toys and such. I went in for a specific brand of food and came out with a bunch of other stuff. I guess that's a good sign of the quality of their store. I can truly say that I was offered help on every isle of this store. I'm not much of a price shopper when it comes to pet supplies, but it didn't appear to be over priced. I did sign up for their frequent shopping card, which will give me discounts on select items. Of course this store is a pet friendly store, so bring your friendly pet. I'm not sure if they have anything beyond dog & cat supplies because i didn't look for anything outside of what I needed. And as a final thought, I was briefly talking about needing to look for a dog walking service, they gave me a couple cards for locals walkers that could help me.
