I love Lucky Dragon!!! This is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately I don't live near by but when I am in town I always make sure to come here! I haven't had a single bad thing from here. And their portions are huge. I always have leftovers. I think their family style dinners are an amazing deal because you get so much food. My favorite items are the sweet & sour chicken, egg rolls, fried shrimp, and BBQ pork. With extra hot mustard of course! The one thing they could improve on (and why I have them 4 instead of 5) is the service. The staff isn't that friendly and sometimes if they are busy they are SO slow. The crab potstickers were on same level as Panda Express--edible, but lacking a crispy crunch I love, not bendable wonton wrappers filled mostly with cream cheese and little crab flavor). I would give this a zero star if I could. I ordered the food over the phone. They said 20-25min. I got there after 25min and they couldnt find my order. They talked to the cooks, they said they made it, so they came back and said somebody took it. They asked what my order was so they could make it again. (None the less I had a 2 year old in the car screaming) they didnt say they would comp something, or be sympathetic at all. I told them no thank you, I cant wait another 20 min for the food. The receptionist walked away and said ok. When I got home, I called the manager, after 5min of talking, she hung up the phone on me. Called for takeout on the way to Kalama -- don't bother calling prior to open hours (not even 10 minutes ahead) as no one answers -- and asked about why soup isn't packaged for takeout (as stated on menu under family dinners, "no soup for takeout orders.") Was told IF we want the soup (that we paid for) we can bring our own container. Yet some food was packaged in plastic containers that would have been suitable for soup, so it's not like they aren't available. Not sure why the Hangup on the soup! Otherwise the food is good! We ordered family meal for two, a sub gum almond chicken chow yuk, almond fried chicken, extra egg roll and since our order totaled over $50, a complimentary app (we chose more BBQ pork.) I am still dumbfounded as well as angry and appalled by a recent dining experience at the Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant on 1/11/24. The food is good and plentiful but my plate of food was forcibly removed by a waitress minutes after it was served.. Then I watched her deliver my chicken with pea pods to another customer although I had eaten several bites. It was incomprehensible and blatant. Had I been 20 years younger I might have been able to follow the waitress and retrieved my food or at least warn the lady sitting across the room. My son complained to the cashier who responded with loud denials. I guess I should be glad (and hopeful) I was not the recipient of their "food sharing personnel" on previous occasions. Later she grabbed the uneaten packaged fried chow mien noodles while we were still eating and took them back to the kitchen. We'll find another place for lunch when on I-5. read more

I would love to give these guys a 4 but on several occasions the to-go ordering is whack, waiting an additional 20m upon arrival after wait 30-40 for preparation. We try not to go friday/Saturday because the wait can be ridiculous and aren't the best at acknowledging unhappy customers. The lo mein is probably my favorite! This used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant. We travel from Camas quite often to eat here. We made reservations for 12 people for father's day and was disappointed that at the time the reservation was made, we weren't informed the lunch menu wouldn't be available to order off of. We had to order off the dinner menu which because it was a holiday, the soup wasn't included, you had to pay extra for it if you wanted it and they of course brought a more expensive bowl instead of a cup. The service is normally top-notch but was absent on this particular day. In my opinion everyone in a party should receive their food within a few minutes of each other but half of our party didn't receive the meal they ordered until AFTER the other half had finished eating. To me, that's unacceptable. At the end of this ordeal, one of the people in our party who had to wait so long brought it up to one of the servers and asked to speak to the manager. We all thought the two meals for the people that had to wait for their food should be greatly discounted. She was told the manager wasn't there but offered a slight discount. Our less than satisfied response was voiced only to be told by another server she would talk to the manager. "But we were told the manager wasn't here??" Then another server came over and started shouting at the person in our party, drawing attention to our situation. She was asked, "Why are you shouting?" To which she shouted back, "I'm not yelling, I'm busy and I'm very hot" she again offered a slight discount to which the person in our party accepted. When the receipt was brought back they hadn't honored the discount. When asked about it the server said "we busy, father's day" and proceeded to place her hands on our persons shoulders and started backing her up towards the door. The server was asked to take her hands off her by herself and the woman's husband. They left of course without any sort of retribution but unfortunately, the bad business decisions made on this day no longer warrants a long drive to eat at Lucky Dragon. This was a really bad experience we don't want to possibly replicate. None of the drama by the restaurant employee's needed to happen. read more

This restaurant is just off I-5 in the tiny town of Kalama. I arrived at 2 PM on a Tuesday afternoon and more than half the tables were occupied (always a good sign). I ordered Chicken and vegetables and the crab puffs (also known as crab rangoon). The chicken was thinly sliced and stir-fried in a light garlic sauce with many vegetables including carrots, water chestnuts, sweet peas, onions, mushrooms, and broccoli. The crab puffs were deep fried wonton skins with a teaspoon of a crab-cream cheese mix wrapped in each one. It's served with a warmed plum sauce. The food is definitely "Americanized" Chinese food, but it was tasty and the servings are so generous that you have a second meal or snack for later. read more

We've live here in Woodland, WA about 20-minutes away and decided to try their food tonight by ordering their Take-Out menu On-Line. So started our online order and and filled out the on-line order form but once I was done suddenly I see, "This Restaurant's Online Ordering is NOT Enabled Yet". I'd like to suggest that until this Option is Enabled, they'd REMOVE it all together as it was a bit of wasted time! So we drove over to the Lucky Dragon and ordered two combination dinners and no doubt with the weight of the big-bag there was a huge amount of food in it; not necessary a good thing! My husband ordered Combo Dinner #10, the General Tso's Chicken which was so heavily battered and caused the oil/grease to soak into the batter & into the chicken which made it extremely greasy & it was also sickly SWEET, Pork Fried Rice was okay but his Fried Shrimp & Egg Roll were also heavily battered that all the oil/grease soaked into these items badly; he Remove all the Breading on each of these two items and once he was done his fingers and pawn of the palm of his hands were dripping with oil/grease... it was an awful sight to see. I ordered the #1 combo dinner and asked for them to use less Corn Starch than normal for a lighter touch but they didn't & it was like a thicker glue like substance, the Egg Foo Young was overcooked and the gravy was way too sweet... like nothing I've ever had before. The Steam rice was totally fine, sadly we most likely won't be returning their for food. Usually, I made my own ethnic dishes thanks to YouTube but tonight I just wanted a night-off from cooking so I am sadly sorry this just didn't work out! Lastly, my thought is maybe if you just want a ton-of-food (regardless of the taste) then by all means this is for you. Szechuan was not spicy at all and not too flavorful. General tso was decent but to sweet and no spice at all. And I can't comment on the other since I didn't try it.
