    Order

No. Just no. I ordered on Thanksgiving. I usually cook, but unfortunately, I had a death in the family that just didn't sit right with us to cook and celebrate, so we all did our own thing. I decided to give Lucky Dragon a try. I'm not picky, but for the prices they charge, the portions you get, and the quality of the food just does not add up. When you order online, you're able to choose a pickup time, I chose my time and received a call 15 minutes prior to my pickup time, asking where I was and how they wanted to leave because they closed "soon", soon being 9:30 and they called me at 9:05. I explained I put my pickup time because thats how long it would take me to get there and them cook the food, etc. I could see if I ordered a large order 5 minutes before close, but I ordered a $30 order almost 45 minutes prior to closing. One item was a combo, which came in a large rice container. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. Small portions are an understatement. Bad quality of food and being rushed is not good customer service. They should've just called back and rejected the order . As I arrived, they were all outside loading into their vans at 9:17 P.M. while staring and what I assumed was saying negative things. Maybe they couldn't afford to close on Thanksgiving, who knows; I don't think it being Thanksgiving and them working was the issue, as many other complaints seem to seal the deal with what I dealt with tonight. OH, then after placing the order, I received a text saying they received the order and then one minute later received another saying my order was ready for pickup . I won't be returning. Picture in post. Stay away, and make toast or something. Because something tells me I'll soon have the Taco Bell affect and spend my night in the bathroom instead of doing my black Friday shopping

For a Chinese takeaway place I was very surprised when I stopped in for a late weeknight dinner. For you hisory buffs, Dennis reports that this building used to be a KFC! I got a combination plate which had boneless spareribs, pork lo-main, and chicken fingers, and an egg roll. The order was cooked fast and the service friendly. I dining room had a number of tables, all were clean and the floor clean as well. When I got home, the meal was really good. Not greasy, and very fresh tasting. It looked and tasted like a lot of care went into the meal. I will definably go back for more, I think that Mei-Hoo up the road was the best place for takeout, and after eating here I am not so sure.

Decent place to stop for Chinese takeout along the Salem commercial strip. It's an order at the counter place with table seating in the front and complementary hot tea offered. The menu offers a good selection of the basic Chinese dishes and chef's specialties at reasonable prices. They also offer 10 Lunch Specials with choice of appetizer ($4.65-$7.00) and 28 All Day Dinner Combo Plates ($7.15-$9.15). See the full menu at http://www.luckydragonsalem.com/ I've been here a few times and the portions here are very generous for the combo specials, a good portion of the main dish dominated by a big pile pork fried rice. The food here is filling and tastes decent. The service here is quick after placing the order.

I stopped back recently after moving and it's still very solid quality. No frills, great food.

For standard chinese fare in my hometown, this is pretty good. Clean with friendly waitstaff.

Main parking lot is shared but we parked on the side of the building at their additional lot. Place is lively with people enjoying their food and chatting. We love their sushi and sashimi combo for two so we went back for more. We started with both miso soup and salad included. That was followed by a dragon figure with our meal. Look at the size of the sashimi pieces. It is always fresh and delicious fish. And of course we will he back!

The table itself was reasonably clean, but the rest of the place was a mess. The men's room was filthy. Service was friendly and relatively prompt. Portion sizes for the lunch specials weren't bad, but less than years past. Food quality was also much lower this time around. Rice was dry, hardly any meat in the entrees. On the bright side the chicken teriyaki was actually pretty good. But they made my entree so spicy I couldn't even eat it really, this after me asking for it to be mild due to a medical condition. Also, it seems like a whole new staff in there, so not sure if there has been another change of owners since we last went. Either way, this place is now on my "do not go" list. Seems like it's more a place for bar flies to hang out than a restaurant now. Which is fine for some, but not a place I want to spend my money at. Kind of sad really, cause it used to be good. As another reviewer pointed out, if the place is that much of a mess, makes you wonder what is going on in the kitchen.

I brought my mail back and they were very thoughtful about replacing it telling me they were making fresh. I think they took what was left in the pot and reheated it partially they gave me one piece that was a fine temperature, but when I got back to my table, the rest of it really wasn't much harder than when I first got it. Await staff is really nice. I can see they're doing their best but you have to keep food hot and at a certain temperature. I didn't see a thermometer anywhere and I'm just hoping I don't get sick.

One indication is visible as you approach: The illuminated sign at the food court has been partially burned out for a long time, and they haven't fixed it. What's left of the sign reads "Mas Wok" (Mexican-Chinese fusion, maybe?). Today I wanted to order chicken with garlic sauce, which is on the menu. They didn't have it, so I settled for chicken with broccoli. I got that, with heavy emphasis on the broccoli part and not much sauce. They loaded me up with rice, far more than I could consume. White rice is cheap. The service is OK. If you must have something Chinese it will do, but don't expect to be impressed.
