It was good but not great , more like just meh middle of the pack I'm not trying to knock them because they were very nice. I got the moo shoo pork , moo shoo shrimp and moo shoo chicken . Surprisingly when I first opened it I was thinking man you really don't get much , that was until I started digging in and it just kept filling up my fork to really no end in sight ( figuratively speaking ) of course , the moo shoo sauce is a little on bland side but they are not shy about the shrimp in the moo shoo shrimp plate , the moo shoo pork has big chunks of tender pork in it as well . I did also sample the shrimp egg rolls and would give them a 3*/5 just because the filling is a little on the bland side ....now don't get me wrong I don't want to sway anybody away that loves this place not my intention and I only tried the moo shoo dishes I stated above , I'm just saying with this being my limited sampling I can't fully recommend it but please give them your service they are super nice there read more

I don't get Chinese food often, but when I have had a craving this place was always my go-to! Large portions, reasonable prices and great quality... However, we picked up carry out recently (probably the first time in at least 2 years) and, while the portions have not changed, the quality of meat has gone very downhill. The sauces were still great and not overly sweet but the meats...oh, the meats! Very spongy beef and very questionable chicken. I'd much rather have seen their prices go up vs. quality go down! The food was initially alright, until I took a bite of rice and bit down on a literal rock. a tiny little pebble was in my food. i dont understand how rocks could have gotten into my rice. They're open Christmas Day which was so helpful for us last year as I just had a baby and we weren't traveling like we normally would have. Christmas Day is definitely crazy for them, they're probably one of only a few places open, so we had to wait an extra 20-30mins for food after our original pick up time. The portions are huge. About $12 for combo dinner. I got sesame chicken with chicken fried rice, and combo comes with choice of egg roll or soup. It could easily feed 3-4 people. I got 3 big dinners out of my 1 order. I did a call-in pickup order for four meals on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised when the estimate given was only 15 minutes! I drove up about 15 minutes later and my food was already waiting. Each meal was about $9 apiece and included an entree, chicken fried rice and soup or an egg roll. Between the four of us, we ordered sweet and sour chicken, broccoli beef, pad Thai (with hot and sour soup) and kung pao shrimp. The food was great for all of us. Everything was hot and portions were ridiculously large. We all laughed that the pad Thai came with rice (it's a noodle-based dish). Carb city!! I had to use soy sauce on my rice because it somehow wasn't salty enough. And there was so little chicken in the rice that it should just be called "fried rice" and you'd consider yourself lucky to find a minuscule piece of chicken in it. Whoever packed our order failed to include forks, a spoon and napkins. That was a little annoying, especially because we were enjoying the meal at a friend's new apartment and had to dig around to find these essentials. They did include soy sauce, plum sauce for the egg rolls and fortune cookies. Overall, I'd definitely order from here again. My husband got three full meals out of his entree. I started ordering from here because of delivery! Unfortunately delivery is no longer available.. which is why Im removing one star. First of all, they make sure they understand your order down to the types of rice and eggrolls which I really appreciate because there is nothing worse than getting home a realizing your order is wrong. They are quite generous with all items. I am always satisfied with the amount if food I receive from them and its one of the reasons I keep coming back because nothing stands out as very different from tradition American Chinese food restaurants but the locale is very convenient and the servings are well worth the money and I hope that never changes. Egg rolls are great BUT I wish they would stop putting them inside the combination dinner box because they get soggy! However anytime Ive remembered to request them separate, they've done so without hesitation. These guys arent stingy with their duck sauce either, one for every roll (THANK YOU). read more

Had to update after several huge misses with this place. That final straw was a few weeks ago I decided to order carry out as opposed to having it delivered to save a couple of bucks. Went in and was treated ok but very curtly. She wanted the order recited quickly which I did. Got home and the almond chicken was burnt past being edible. Every single piece was burnt which means the ends are hard as rocks and so dry/overcooked they couldn't be eaten. The fried shrimp was the same with the exception of the taste which was a little off. I found out why at 4am when I was rushing to the bathroom. Ordered Shrimp fried rice and I have never actually gotten burnt rice before but there it was. Hardly any shrimp in it at all and again so burnt tasting we couldn't eat it. Ordered two shrimp egg rolls and only got one regular which was the only thing that wasn't burnt. Spent over $40 for an egg roll. Won't ever be back. ESPECIALLY based on the new Chalkboard Menu that lists they do Seafood Bakes now like Catch N Reel. Are you KIDDING ME? Oh boy! I really want to spend $50 for burnt shrimp, mussels (can you imagine), and crawfish. In a Chinese Restaurant. You guys aren't even doing well IN YOUR LANE. This is a very solid American style Chinese take out spot. It may become my newest go to, because my favorite is so far away now. I've been here twice for take out, and I've been quite ok with both experiences. The first time I got the old go to, General Tso's combination dinner. The portions were beyond ample, and the flavors were good. The egg rolls are big, but they're the mostly bean sprout kind, which isn't my favorite. I prefer the mostly cabbage filled egg rolls. Just my preference. The General's chicken was some of better I've had in the area. I also got an egg drop wonton soup. It was mighty tasty. The second visit, I got the Orange Chicken combination dinner and a side of pan fried dumplings. The orange chicken was yummy, and the rest of the combo was on par with the first visit. The pan fried dumplings were ok, but they can't hold a candle to the dumplings at China House in Southwest Detroit. I dream about those... But yeah, I'm happy to find a good Chinese spot closer to home, because driving to Southwest from Downriver is getting tiring. The do delivery, as well. After two hours, and several attempts to find out if and when our order would be arriving (one resulting in us being hung up on), our food finally arrived. The delivery guy was polite, and the food was still warm. I ordered the Cashew Chicken, and my partner ordered the Chicken Lo Mein. We split a side of the Shrimp Fried Rice. The food quality was pretty good, perhaps a tad greasy. Overall I thought everything tasted somewhat bland. Right. I haven't lived downriver in quite a long time but this was definitely my go-to takeaway joint when I was kicking around there. It's your archetypical local Chinese place, with a spare showing of tables inside that you basically ignore and order it to-go. The parking lot has one way in and out, which is a bit of a pain, but inconveniences are irrelevant with respect to Chinese takeaway. This is a great hidden stop for herbivores downriver. Unlike most of the Chinese joints in the area that feature a very exciting combination of Mixed Vegetables and Vegetable Fried Rice as options, Lucky Dragon offers a variety of tofu dishes for your pleasure. I was always quite partial to the Sesame Tofu and Szechuan Bean Curd. Also, they have chopsticks on hand, which is pretty much essential to be taken seriously as a Chinese place. If I ever drop into the area, I'll definitely visit again. read more

Your experience at this restaurant will be similar to rolling dice. Sometimes you will get semi decent food, other times you will be served food that will absolutely tear up your insides. I don't know if it is an issue with them undercooking some foods or improper hygiene by the cooking staff. I will pass on getting food from this place moving forward. Well we use to go here quite a bit a few years back but then the quality seemed to start lacking so we started trying many other places around & was never to impressed. Went back to Lucky Dragon yesterday due to Gee's being closed & I have to say the food & service was pretty damn good! The amount of food in a dinner would easily feed 2 people, the vegetables in my dinner were totally fresh & crunchy & delicious. We will definitely be going back. I would give this place a 5 except one time I ordered CASHEW chicken and it was chicken with a bunch of peanuts on it? lol.... We regularly order from here. Fried pork dumplings, orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken are our favorites. Plus, they deliver. One time the guy delivered to us in a polar vortex and got his Focus stuck in the street outside of our house. That night, he forgot our orange chicken and came back just as pleasant as he had been in the first place despite having to return after digging out his car. Don't know why people claim the service is bad... Bonus: One of my favorite things about Lucky Dragon is that when you call you are speaking to a person with an accent but you can always understand what they are asking.
