Was thrilled to hear that Gyumon finally opened and got the chance to visit when I was back in town…read morevisiting some friends who lived down the street. Walking in, it gives Gyu-Kaku vibes with its aesthetics. My friends told me we had to go in to take advantage of their $10 off option and who would say no to that? We did the Gold Tier and it was more than we could've asked for. We got everything from the short plate, wagyu steak, pork belly, short ribs, wagyu filet mignon, and it got to a point where we might've forgotten what we ordered and just ate! The selection was endless and I do appreciate the variety of appetizers and entrees that come along with it. My favorite part was probably the smores at the very end because it's just such a unique ending to the night! My one thing was we did order the california rolls and they were okay. I wish they shredded the imitation crab vs just putting a large chunk in and rolled it up. Service was quick and attentive and everyone was very kind. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood and excited to see them thrive!

Not gonna lie, I wasn't crazy at the thought of cooking my own meat LOL But it went way better than I thought! We took turns cooking in my group and we tried soo many meats and they were mostly all delicious! The short ribs and wagyu fillet mignon were the best by far! Super delicious! We didn't have many veggies or any rice, but the few veggies we had were good. Staff was friendly, attentive and brought out our food very shortly after we ordered. You get a tablet when you sit down and you're able to order everything from there, which I loved because I could really take my time and go through all the options..which are plenty!! lol Really loved this place! We'll def be back.

After moving to the area, I really wanted to try the ramen! honestly, I really liked this place,…read moreeven though I would say it isn't the most authentic ramen place. there is a lot of options on the menu. from yakitori, to omurice, to ramen, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. I ended up trying the ramen combo, which came with a bao bun and thai tea or amazing lemonade (which is I think cucumber lemonade). what I got: original chicken ramen (9/10 yums): not super salty, but a little light on the flavor. I liked the noodles themselves and how much there was! definitely a lighter tasting ramen, so I would get this if you don't want something too heavy. zucchini and chicken negi yakitori (10/10): YUM! I loved the sauce they put on it and it was charred super nicely! amazing lemonade (10/10 yums): YUM!!!!!! I usually don't really like cucumber drinms, but this was such a good balance. the cucumber taste wasn't too overpowering, but gave it a refreshing taste. spicy tonkotsu ramen (10/10 yums): although it is not the authentic and traditional tonkotsu ramen you get, it was really good. The spice was more like a chinese spice blend and was super good in the ramen. pork bao bun (10/10 yums): super tender and soft bun! not too fatty either! the service was also great, as they kept checking on us as well. Seating is pretty decent as well and they have these private booths that seem pretty nice.

We tried several dishes from the menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. One thing I noticed was that the restaurant stayed pretty busy the whole time we were there. There was a steady flow of customers coming in, which is usually a good sign that the food is consistently good. Overall, it was a great experience. Good food, great ambiance, and excellent service. I can definitely see myself coming back again to try more items on the menu. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good Japanese restaurant in Oak Park

We were there for some Chinese food. They give you complimentary hot tea when you sit down. The service was ok at best. Nice inside not very big but it's clean and has some cozy booth type seats along with open table seating. We ordered some Jumbo shrimp fried rice, Singapore noodles, pad se eew and a sampler appetizer platter. The appetizer platter came with 2 egg rolls, 2 dumplings, 2 bbq ribs, 2 shrimp toast, 2 crab Rangoons & 2 fried shrimp. The egg rolls were fresh and full of meat!! Very crispy and delicious! 7/10 I didn't have the dumplings I don't care for them myself but my wife likes them she gave them a 6.7/0 she said she's had better. The Ribs had a nice bite and flavor to them just a tad tough for me. 6/10 The shrimp toast was my favorite of the appetizers the were crispy not greasy and the shrimp was definitely there. I enjoyed the flavor of them. 8/10 The crab Rangoon however were a disappointment to me. They were definitely missing the green onion and crab! lol. Mostly cream cheese but fried well 4/10. The fried shrimp were ok. Average 5/10 They give you a lot of food for your money! As all the dishes had a great amount of protein in them! They don't skimp on the meat at all. The jumbo shrimp fried rice a great flavor and nice texture. You can taste smokiness in it. 7.5/10 The Singapore Noodles was loaded with shrimp, chicken and bbq pork, egg and veggies. It had a kick to it from the curry very flavorful and the texture of the noodles were spot on! 7.5/10 the pad se eew was also loaded with beef! (You have the option of protein) the beef was very tender, the sauce had a nice spice level and the noodles were perfectly cooked. 8/10 all in all i would definitely recommend checking them out! My bill was a little over $63 and well worth it. I'm definitely returning to them. Remember ALL reviews are SUBJECTIVE

First, I was told they were waiting for a table to open up. Then they were waiting on a cook. Finally, a staff member said the people at our reserved table were still eating and they were waiting for them to get up. When I asked when our table would actually be ready, she laughed, threw her hands up, and said she didn't know. What made the situation even worse was watching other customers walk in and be seated while we continued to wait. From what I observed, Black families were waiting extended periods of time, while White and Mexican customers were seated much more quickly. A party of 15 that arrived well after us was even seated before my group. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the treatment my family received on my mother's birthday. This would have been her first hibachi experience, and instead it was ruined by poor customer service and what appeared to be unfair treatment. I will never return and would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.
