Last evening 8 friends went to dinner at the Lucky Dumpling. Really nice entrance & dining room, great service and excellent food. I should've taken some photos but everyone dove into their dishes too quickly. Large portions and fresh ingredients. Everyone was really delighted with their meals. Location is great and the restaurant layout provides a hopefully experience when you enter. However the high ratings really reflect the lack of local Conroe knowledge of Chinese food. I wonder what people's reaction would be if the food was really traditional and as tasty as it should be. Tried to have lunch at Lucky Dumpling yesterday but the host said, "the wi-fi is down... we no serve you." So I don't know if the food is good or not. I don't think it's wise to not have alternate payment methods on hand in case of wi-fi interruptions. Wi-fi shouldn't impact food preparation for cash paying customers. Oh well, hope they get their wi-fi fixed and I'll try again, then I'll happily update this review. read more

Lunch time showed up around 12:45 only like 4 tables with customers, I was told to take a seat and someone would be there to take my order, I only saw one guy walking around never came to my table even know he walked by me several times , after 10 minutes of being there and no one came to check on me I left. This is the 3rd time we have eaten here, twice in person and once to-go. Every time we've had the food there it is completely fresh, full of flavor, and piping hot! The restaurant is clean and the ambiance is delightful. I highly recommend the noodles with chicken, general tsos chicken, and the fried rice. The pork buns are also great. My first try of LD. Restaurant was impeccably clean. Ordered To-Go. Best Pork dumplings i have ever eaten. Fried rice good. The General Tso's Chicken was horrible. The flavor was good but the chicken must have either been cooked well in advane or was totally overcooked. It was like eating straw. Stringy, dry, we threw it out after about 5 pieces. Today was my first visit to Lucky Dumpling. A very nice calming atmosphere. I slipped and fell my shoe probably was not slip proof. They were right there staying with me and making sure I was not badly hurt. Very nice people indeed. Since I can not have wheat or seafood I had fresh vegetables and rice. Ordered a lovely black hot tea to drink. Disappointed since the noodles are wheat, but the delicious fresh vegetables and rice were delicious. Will definitely be back since it's nearby. My husband and I stopped by for lunch and both service and food were excellent! Our waitress, Danielle, knew the menu from front to back! I got the chicken fried rice without soy. It was fantastic. My husband got the braised sliced beef hand drawn noodle soup. Also delicious. If you're at a crossroads, trying to decide between Shogun or the Lucky Dumpling, do yourself a favor and go left. This place is unreal. The staff are extremely nice. The restaurant is clean and they take great care of it. I have 2 small kids who are somewhat picky eaters and they loved their food. The restaurant even on a busy night, got everything out hot. It took a little longer but I was in no rush and it was a Saturday. We had the pan fried dumplings, scallion pancakes, and spring rolls. The dumplings were some of the best I've ever had! We then had the general tso chicken with white rice, and wonton soup and hand drawn noodles with beef. All delicious!! I've been here twice with my sister, the first time late at night and the second time around lunch. The first time was fine, but the second time push us to never come back. They sat us quick, as we were the only table, but after ordered they literally set up a table across the room from us and were eating lunch. As someone in the restaurant business I think it's unprofessional to eat in front of guests, especially when their food hasn't came out. The food is good, you know, it's not anything authentic but it's good. To be honest, our Shumai was cold in the middle which probably means their dim sum is mainly frozen. Then when we asked about the dessert they are advertising on the menu, the waiter chucked at us and told us that dessert is from China and they don't know when they'll get it. Honestly just made both my sister and me feel uncomfortable... How were we supposed to know? Plus it's literally still on the menu. Tired of people asking you about it? This is a new place and we tried it out today. It was awesome. Best dim sum I have had since years ago at a place in the Heights. For 2 of us, 4 orders were plenty.
