Ok. I order here every friday night! They have the best chinese food in town. The people are friendly and whenever I call they know me by address.. I say "Hello. I would like to place an order for delivery please" I place my order and they ask my address. I say "111 Ahh" and the immediately know who I am and where it is going. They then thank me for my ordering history. They are a lovely people and DO have the best CHINESE in ST Augustine! We get takeout from Lucky Garden anytime we are in St Augustine. Orders are filled promptly. Food is very good although we usually select the same few items. They do a nice hot and sour soup. Their shrimp and broccoli is also very good, loaded with large tasty shrimp. Singapore noodles are also recommended, although unless you specify otherwise it will be pretty spicy. And the portion is huge. Prices are quite reasonable. We will continue to use this place on future visits. read more

I have literally been vomiting and feeling nauseous with hot and cold spells since we ate their food last night. I don't want to bash what could be a great local joint for LOCALS. Maybe you get better luck if they know you well? We are originally from Orlando but after spending time with family we were hungry and gave it a chance despite some very bad to good ratio reviews. My advice to my you....? Take the risk if you'd like but you're better off driving further or to just go anywhere else. We have tried this place twice. We'll continue looking for a Chinese take-out, as the food is not all that good. The entrées in the combination dinners lack meat. Every time we have ordered from Luck Garden our order has arrived late ,cold, incomplete, bland and things that should be crunchy and crispy like crab meat wontons are soggy and literally mushy and really greasy . My boyfriend and I have ordered there three times and all three times it has been the same just a disappointment with the lack of care they put in the food and quality of the food and service. To be pretty much the only Chinese food place on The Island and considering the demographic and people of the area you would think they would try to aim higher and present their foods and services better !!!!!! read more

Wow! I've been looking for great takeout on the island and I don't know how I missed Lucky Garden! Fast, hot and delicious takeout at a great price! It's hard to find good vegetarian food around here so I'm really psyched to know I have a great option now! I ordered vegetarian fried rice and it was super tasty and chock full of vegetables like broccoli, snow peas, carrots, and onions. I also ordered broccoli in garlic sauce and it was fabulous! My husband had sweet and sour pork and an egg roll and he liked it as well. Large portions and great prices and the staff was pleasant so I definitely recommend this restaurant for takeout. okay, the crab rangoons were very good, and that's about it. the chow mein had no noodles which I was very upset about. it was literal wet cabbage and tasteless chicken. the sweet and sour chicken didn't have any sweet and sour on it. it was just dry fried chicken. the rice is tasteless. my little brother got food poisoning from here. If I could give this establishment "NO" stars, I would. We ordered vegetable lo mien, beef egg foo young and two spring rolls. The spring rolls had absolutely no filling. The beef? Egg foo young was meatless and burned, totally inedible. The vegetable lo mien had little to no vegetables and was very salty. The real problem was that the place tried to overcharge us by $9.00, when we brought this to the attention of the delivery person, he said he would settle for $5.00 less because of a mistaken additional charge. When he was shown the errors, he threw the pen he was using, took the $20 and left in a hurry. This is one of my two fave chinese food places in St. Augustine. In my opinion, they have the best crab rangoon. The right about of filling for the size of dough, and the best ratio of crab to cheese. I usually get chicken lo mein and love it! After using Yelp for a long while, I have been remiss in not contributing. Regrettably I cannot start with a positive review. And while we don't often eat Chinese, we know tasteless food when we eat it. More often than not, when I order Chinese I order Happy Family since it has appealed to us at other restaurants. This was so bland we have to call it awful. Maybe it's just this recipe, but yecch. And when they say the crab is "imitation", who knows what that stuff was? Tofu? Other offerings may be tasty, but not this one. The spring rolls had no taste whatsoever - none! The fried noodles were completely stale. But... the wonton soup was excellent, the food was hot, and was ready exactly when they said it would be. Sorry, but I'll be looking elsewhere. read more

This place has always been reliable as far as decent Chinese food goes. Good prices, good food, and when they've told me ten minutes it has always been ten minutes. The lady who works the counter is on her A-game all of the time, what is unfortunate is when she is not there. On one occasion I was rung up by someone from the back, there was a language barrier that made things a little tricky but we both knew how the process went. What I could deal with a little less was the small bits of raw chicken all over the guy's hands. He proceeded to use the register and hand me my receipt. Why is this place in business, its the worst in St. Augustine? Simple, dumb tourists and convenient to Publix. The chicken is grade F Grissel. Try anything fried in old grease then rate it. The Asian restaurant next to Winn Dixie is 5 star, so it the Vietnamese place in the plaza on 312 and A1A. If you are off the island Panda Express is very good. read more
