I was so shocked to see my favorite coffee shop in Tallahassee make an appearance here in Lakeland! The coffee here definitely tastes fresh and just so good. The staff is very attentive and patient with customization questions. Also, kudos to Lucky Goat for using local bakeries to supply some of their eats! Great environment, feels very clean and hip and nice place to work remote from. I wish the coffee prices were a little cheaper but they are on par with competitors and this is something I say about all coffee shops; I feel the price could be a dollar or two cheaper.

Visited Lucky Goat for the first time. Staff was very h courteous and loved the look inside the shop. The coffee was quite tasty. The only dental odd location. This is great for foot traffic of shopping at Merchants Walk. But to post and just go in is not that convenient.

This growing franchise is both a coffee/pastry shop & a roastery of its own beans. Like the convenience of bringing home their beans or using growler refills as a cheaper option to gallon purchases. They grand opened with finesse, handling crowds like a champ and continuing with stellar service 10 days later. Loved that they gave a punch card to attendees for some freebies over the next weeks! Nice touch. Great espresso and cold brew. Love that they partner with 2 of our finest artisan bakeries, Meraki (Lakeland) & Honeycomb (Winter Haven). Large variety of options and a toasting option. Prices are reasonable. Cold brew $5. They are quick access to the Parkway & main drag in town. They offer rewards by phone number record, so much better than an app. I do have some "cons", some of which could be fixed. It's built long like a container shop, which makes seating and navigation (ordering/waiting) crowded and awkward--when there are crowds. They need to be responsible for their vehicle traffic out front impeding strip mall flow. (aka Idiots parking in the fire lane to "run in" for coffee need to be in legal spaces like everyone else). Yes strip mall parking there is maniacal at times and will inhibit my stop frequency. The mark-up on pastries runs them to $7ish, a little high for regular purchase when you can get it direct from the vendors so much cheaper. They use Pacific almond milk, one of two with horrible aftertaste. With Silk, Almond Breeze, Friendly Farms being cheaper and no after taste they should reconsider. Didn't like the coconut milk taste either. (Learned second visit that skim milk is an option.) Bottom lines, I will stop in when I have additional needs in the plaza, moreso if they get a better low 30 cal almond milk.

The vibe is awesome with brick walls, tasteful decor, and pleasant music, and just what I look for in a local coffee shop. Prices are fairly reasonable with many drink and food options. Although there was a bit of line when I visited, it moved quickly and staff was efficient in getting ordered items out to guests. I went with a white mocha frappe (5/5), asking for it to be made less sweet. It's not something I ordinarily see on the menu at local coffee shops, so was delighted at how good it was, with just the right amount of sweetness to it. It's shame that there's nothing like it at coffee shops close to where I live, as it's something that'd be in my regular rotation of caffeinated drinks I'd order. As my friends and I enjoyed our experience here, I'd definitely return to Black & Brew, and would recommend them to others looking for a quality coffee shop in Lakeland.

Black & Brew in downtown Lakeland is exactly what a neighborhood café should be--welcoming,…read moreenergetic, and full of flavor. The standout for me was the Holiday Ham breakfast sandwich, and it absolutely lived up to its name. Built on a flaky buttermilk biscuit, it layers a light, fluffy egg soufflé with thinly sliced ham, praline bacon that adds just the right touch of sweetness, and a cranberry orange jam that ties everything together with a bright, unexpected pop. Every bite tasted thoughtful and seasonal without being overcomplicated--comfort food elevated. I paired it with Jennie's Dolce seasonal espresso drink, and it was so good I immediately wanted another. Even more impressive? The second one tasted just as perfect as the first--a small detail that says a lot about their consistency and care behind the bar. The coffee shop ambience immediately stands out, with a relaxed yet polished vibe that makes it just as ideal for a casual morning as it is for catching up on work or meeting friends. Service was warm and efficient, and you can tell this place has become a staple in the downtown community. If you appreciate creative twists on classic breakfast favorites and expertly crafted coffee drinks, Black & Brew is well worth the stop. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
