When driving through Lakeland, the cute Ice Cream shaped building caught my son's eye, and we had to make a pit stop for dessert. The staff at Twistee Treat was very friendly. The prices were great. The selection was good. We sampled a dole whip, Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich, and delicious soft serve! read more

What is this?? Not what was ordered !! What was ordered banana split with two drops of vanilla and one drop of strawberry ice cream, whipped cream and nuts !! And what I got was two drops of vanilla ice cream one drop of strawberry ice cream all hit fudge a ton of whipped cream and a ton of nuts, correct me if I'm wrong a banana split consists of the toppings on top which is these chocolate saucer for hot fudge, strawberry and pineapple topping or sometimes it's marshmallow topping a banana whipped cream and nuts and Cherrie if the customer request it, I don't understand what was so hard about the simple order and what a waste of eight dollars never again read more

Theres not much room here for the drive through but parking is plentiful. Theres a bar nearby thats visible from the seating. Staff have been ok, not friendly but not rude. Ice cream is like the cheap soft serve you get from a basic fast food chain and flavors taste artificial. I tried the peanut butter lovers and it was very disappointing. It costs $7 and you dont get much. Some vanilla soft serve with whipped cream, reeces pieces and smooshed up peanut butter cups which were very very salty. Like burning salty. My friends seemed to enjoy their ice cream but I felt like tossing my treat. read more

Sam and I were near by and decided to stop in for a treat. Okay we made a specific trip out of our way to go to twistee treat. I am not ashamed. We shared a Chicago dog though we both agree we could have water two each. It was delicious but a little on the small side. We also had two small twisters. Mine with Oreo, marshmallow, and sprinkles. Sam went with Oreo, strawberry, and coffee, a combination of flavors I would not have chosen... A great visit in a hot day. We will be back. read more

We've seen this place a bunch of times but today when shopping across the street at Aldi we decided to give it a try. It's your typical old school ice cream shop where you can also get some food items. They keep the menu pretty simple but it's all the classic things you like: soft serve, regular ice cream, sundaes, hot dogs, etc. I got a small chocolate and vanilla swirl soft serve in a waffle cone, but they have different ways you can customize your soft serve which is cool. We waited for a little while in like at the window. They also have a drive thru but the line was long - I don't think they can keep up with so much business in the summer. Also the location isn't ideal - it's in a parking lot with limited seating. However the staff was so kind and the ice cream was reasonably priced. And I love the old school feel! read more

I had the soft serve vanilla cone dipped in butterscotch . If I could give a review of a 0 I would , the quality of the soft serve ice cream is not good at all . I would describe the taste and texture of the butterscotch and ice cream as plastic . I tried to give it a chance but I could not even finish eating it . If you've ever gotten ice cream you know you have to eat fast before it melts , it didn't melt and I had a 15 min drive to my destination holding it because I just couldn't eat it . Never again !! I was craving a waffle cone from Twisty Treat, only to pull up to the window with a close sign, after waiting behind three vehicles. I was not happy after watching the immature clerks on the the inside laugh and giggle around. There was a mother and daughter eating out on the bench, enough time went past, the mother went to the window to give the black guy a compliment for her daughter. He wrote his phone number on a sticky and gave it to the lady. I just couldn't understand clerk came out to remove the orange cone. Instead of her acknowledging the cars waiting behind the three cars to say we're closing early because of the curfew. She proceeded to change out the garbage container and went back in. I pull up the sign was put up. I was furious, because of them twisty treat employees being so inconsiderate of other time. I was given Derek (mgrs) phone #, she stated he was vacation. read more

If I am driving by a giant ice cream cone than I am stopping. Period! And this time I was driving by one with four kids in a car and they all saw the giant cone at once. Imagine a herd of clown rhinos inside your car screaming every excuse in the book for why now it a perfect time to have a treat; "I am really hot", "you know what sound great now....", "if I don't have something cold i will pass out", and my favorite from the youngest one "I would give you a big hug if I could cool down with ice cream". Luckily we come well prepared to the back seat chaos by saying "you get your treats but only if you don't complain about taking group photos in front of this place after". It's a way of verifying how much they really want whatever they think they want. Well they really wanted ice cream and we got our group photos. Menu here is great and everyone will find something they like. Couple of the kids learned hard way that they use real fruit to make shakes so unless you or your kid can handle chunks of fresh fruit and you are strong enough to suck it thru the straw select something less fruity. Prices are reasonable and the service is great. read more

I wouldn't call this "Fast Food" cause the lines are long and they take their sweet (get it) time to make it. If it wasn't 89 frigging degrees out with the sun blaring over head, I would have probably enjoyed the long line with others, with excitement and anticipation just like a little kid. Instead, I was grumpy because they lady working the counter wasn't smiley or friendly. I imagined turtles making Turtle Sundaes inside the Big Twistee Cone, since things were taking so long. But alas when my order was called and we took our food to the air conditioned car. I took a sip of the best Pumpkin Spice Shake I've ever experienced in my life and all was forgiven. One bite of the Chicago Dog and I was back home in the Midwest. What line? Let's come back everyday. read more

We come here often for their twisters which are great when they get the ingredients correct. We've had the Cubans and Philly sub. I would highly suggest going somewhere else for actual food. Cubans barely have any meat on them and well after tonight it seems that they put barely any meat on any of their sandwiches & they are pretty pricey for what they are. Service is not great at all. There has not been one time we've been there that we got good customer service. If they were to fix their customer service situation and actually give you a decent about of food for the money you're paying this place would be 5 stars. Unfortunately, I do not see that happening. read more

It wasn't particularly fresh (or maybe the storage somehow wasn't sealed all the way) and it was blended with cinnamon. Now, I like cinnamon but that's not going to match every flavor. Location is ok, but you may not realize there's parking in the back if you've never been there. It is at a light so crossing and turning into the place is easy. Atmosphere and ice cream itself were stupendous. I recommend getting the cone with vanilla or just getting the scoops. Unless you love cinnamon and there you go. Their competitor downtown is better in some ways, BUT Bright Ice has better flavors and more traditional type of flavors. This is an important distinction which makes it stand out on its own.
