How should I rate an auto parts store? In the distant past, I enjoyed going to this type of store. Now I only go if I need something. I went on a shopping spree of sorts. I was in the market for windshield wipers and Gojo hand cleaner. They had both in stock. The pluses: Easy parking. clean store, helpful employees, reasonable pricing, and they came out and installed the wipers This all made this a 5 star auto parts experience. I will be back before I need new wipers. I use the Gojo hand cleaner to take out stains in clothes. read more

I had a very unprofessional experience at the O'Reilly Auto Parts store located at San Pablo, CA. The staff member I spoke with was rude and condescending. When I asked about gapped versus ungapped spark plugs, he was dismissive and told me not to waste his time instead of helping me understand the difference. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to deal with these people today. I went to another O'Reilly's near Elcerrito Plaza, and they completely blew me off. It seems like every question. I ask them they didn't have an answer for you just said no.. So, on a hunch a drove to the other O'Reillys where the old Safeway and CVS was, and they were truly a delight. They were quick to help me solve my problems and we're just all around. Pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend going there for your automotive needs or just to have a nice chat . read more

Black/Brown Curly Hair Skinny Pretentious Attitude. Hispanic 22-35 so this employee i dealt with had this demeanor of condescension. My main issue is the fact that i was getting drilled over my Military ID. i was literally being questioned on my DOJ # and other details to PROVE that this was me or not a fake. once i caught a whiff of this guys attitude to get him to drop all his bullshit, i pulled out my state ID and said please compare so you can determine that it is me and it is not a fake. i told him i was in the service over 6 years ago and had no clue what the numbers were. He must have asked me three times, the same question, and i told him the same thing from the beginning. I DID NOT REMEMBER. He proceeded to back step and state this and that and why he needed to do that. OF COURSE in a condescending manner he reminded me that my military discount only got me a dollar off. Went in for one item (tire cleaner) and worker recommended for me to take a look at a item. Got to register and rang up as $12.99 but was in the spot for $7.49. She went to get a manager to change the price because she seen where I got it from. David (who is not the manager) came out and told me I moved the item and couldn't give me the item at the price. I refused to pay full price especially after being accused of moving items and requested the manager again. David was EXTRA rude for no reason. I started to get very upset because I was waiting for the manage for over 15mins. I explained to the 3 workers that was standing around doing nothing since there was no customers that this was unacceptable and very irritating. One worker told me I was rude and disrespectful, David laughed in my face, and the work that helped me just stared at me. The manager Joel never came out. When I called the store after leaving they said he wasn't there. Went to Auto Zone and got the same item at a cheaper price with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. After not finding everything that I needed at their Pinole location, I gave this place a shot. The Kragen stores keep a consistent pattern: The isles are big and clean, everything is neatly organized and the staff are ready to answer any questions. This location seemed to have a bigger selection of car care/detailing products. Prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for and detailing products tend to last quite a while. Rolled in here to grab some brake lights for my car. Clean set up, easy to find; the only issue was trying to check out. There were three people working registers, but it was going incredibly slowly. I waited more than 10 minutes to buy my lights, and it was 10 in the morning. Quicker customer service would be helpful, especially when the store is not too busy. read more

Walked in, was greeted immediately, told the clerk I needed new wiper blades. He looked up my car and gave me three options, explained the difference and as I made my selection he offered to help me put them on.
