Glitter nail tips with gel polish top coat
    Kalisha E.

3.5 stars This is my spot in BK! It's not "Manhattan $100 new set of nails posh atmosphere" but it will do. A husband and wife run/own this place. I only let them do my nails - they are super fast. The prices are good. My current nail obsession is gel polish with glitter. It's the best I've found so far. The fill-ins last about 1.5-2 weeks (at least mine do). Be nice and they will be nice to you. Some girls walk in here so aggressive and demanding. The staff is very friendly and funny here, especially Jennifer who does pedicures - everyone is her "baby". They have may loyal customers including me. Regarding nail art - I follow TONS of nail techs on Instagram and often get inspiration for my next design from those photos. Here at Chen Park, they don't like duplicating other artists designs. I've tried many times to bring in a picture and get them to use this as inspiration but they want to charge more. Now I just explain what I want and work with what I know their skill level can deliver to avoid the hassle.

So unbelievably thrilled with my Seahawks nails!

Cheap, awesome place. Best I've been in Brooklyn! I got a fill, with custom design and gel top coat for $23! My nails look stunning. The place was super clean. The staff -- so friendly and sweet! The speak great English - were very nice, polite, helpful. Overall I'm over-the-moon happy to find my new nail salon here in Brooklyn. ***cash only*** but ATM next door.

I've gone to this place a few times when in a tight pinch and every time I am disappointed, tonight was no different. I went in for a quick set after work from Mae (At the front table) she was on the phone for most of the service, worked with no real attention to detail and during buffing, cut my finger. She tried to hide the cut and when I asked about it she said because I wanted it buffed...No change in utensils and I'm sure she used the same on her next customer She charged me full price for the service, not even considering to discount for the inconvenience. This will be my last time going to this unkempt hole in the wall. Will be taking my business where it is respected and I wont risk constant infection

Love that cross and stud design. Maybe next time.

I just went for a full acrylic set and couldn't be happier! The price was great at under $30 with tip & the stylist was fast and good. They don't speak much English here but they do their best and are very friendly. I had no appointment but was in and out in under an hour. They also have a good array of rhinestone doodads like bows, studs, flatbacks and hello kittys- I was told a bow on each hand is $8 all together which is not a bad deal. I've definitely paid much more for a manicure that wasn't nearly as good in Manhattan. I think I've found my new favorite nail salon.

Chen Park Nail Salon. Parkside Ave. station - Q train. Just around the corner to the right.

Are you desperately searching for FANTASTIC glitter and design acrylic nail tips? Then a quick ride on the Q-train will take you to the best nail salon for acrylic nails that I have found, and I have searched high and low. Chen Park Nail Salon - the outside sign reads "Lucky Park" - is an unassuming little salon sitting right next door to the Parkside Ave., Q line, subway station. You would never think that they provide the quality and variety of glitter tips not to be found anywhere else, but they do. Not only do they do a beautiful job, but their pricing is amazing at $30.00 for a full set of "seashell" glitter acrylic tips, including a free gel top coat. I am from Texas where acrylic tips are a way of life. The local salon that I use there has over 100 styles of acrylic tips, applied perfectly, quickly and for the utterly reasonable price of $40 for a new set, including gel top coat. For the past 5 summers I have been coming to NYC for my daughter to study and train. Both of us wear glitter and/ or patterned tips and I have been searching all over NYC for a salon to do my fills, repair a nail if it breaks or comes off, or for a new set. I have been utterly disappointed time and time again. Either the salons that I have tried have been incompetent or ridiculously expensive or both. I had given up on trying to find a decent salon for acrylic glitter nail tips. Please let me explain what "acrylic glitter nail tips" are. They are acrylic nail tips, which are built onto the nail using acrylic powder and liquid. They are not gel tips. The type of tips that I was searching for and found at Chen Park Nail Salon involve first gluing on either a pre-patterned plastic tip - anything from abstract designs to checkerboards to animal prints - OR gluing on a white plastic tip then covering the white tip with heavily glittered and/or colored acrylic powder. A clear acrylic powder is then used to create the body of the nail, then a clear gel coat is applied at the end to seal the nail. The final result is a clear acrylic base with a tip that is glittered or colored or patterned. This does NOT involve complex painting of acrylic nails. At my home salon they might use a bit of glitter paint to accent the patterned tip before the clear acrylic is put over it, but, again, it does not mean painted tips - although this salon does this as well. While the selection of patterned tips at Chen Park Nail Salon is pretty limited - at this time there were only a handful of those options - they do an incredibly rich-looking "seashell" glitter, as they don't scrimp on the glitter itself, like other salons do and their glitter selection was quite good. The tips that my daughter's friend had done were a combination of 2 glitters and they did not charge extra for this as I have found other salons here in NYC do. We also had pedicures at Chen Park Nail Salon that were first rate. It is only $12 for the basic pedicure, which, by itself, is better than $30 pedi's I have had in the city. I was shocked to find that getting a "spa pedi" was only an additional $8 for a total of $20 for a really detailed and luxurious spa pedi. And $20 is as high as they go for the pedis. There are no "additional" items. Oh, except an additional 10 minutes of massage was an additional $10, which I got. Forget the rest of the nail salons out there - I've been to the one in Williamsburg - that offer glitter nails. They're crap AND they're obscenely expensive. Hop on the Q-line to Brooklyn, get off at "Parkside Ave.", walk out of the station and across the street for some of the best glitter acrylic nails I've ever found and a fantastic pedicure, all at a GREAT price!

Definitely returning. Charismatic bunch and got my nails did by the boss lady! Walk with Cash, leave room for nails to dry if regular polish girl. Don't be afraid to say what you like or don't like, want or don't want!

My pedicure and the small abrasion I got from some overzealous foot scrubbing.
    Alyssa N.

Pretty pedi but the abrasion I got from the overzealous foot scrubbing still feels irritated a few days later. I dislike it when my callouses are given a light sweep, but this was a little too much. Saying ouch did not seem to help. Other than that was not a bad experience.

I've been going here for a while and still haven't left a review so I feel it's long overdue. I've been coming here for a few months. First for gel acrylics, then regular gel and from time to time eyebrows. With gel I've found it that generally at other places, nails can either look too thick or peel off in just a few days. I don't think this has really been a problem here for me. I was charged $20 something for an acrylic gel fill in, I believe. Cheaper than most places and they lasted me the 2 weeks, sometimes longer. I love how these girls do eyebrows as well. I noticed that many customers come here for eyebrow and lip waxes. In the past when getting my brows done at other places, I've broken out from wax, had too much taken of or was just straight up given eyebrows that looked comical, like way too thick and arched. Here I feel like the girls know the meaning of "just clean it up" and "don't take off too much". The girls are really nice here, make friends and relations with many of their customers. Only thing that's a downer is that they don't take card, and I always have to remember to take out cash

If I could choose no stars, I would. Went in for powder gel, left with a hot mess that I could've done myself. I only left because I was losing my patience. Straight trash! Don't go here for anything too "complex" - they have no idea what they're doing! Poor skill; poor service.

The attentiveness of the gentleman that did my nails was greater than the upscale salons in the area. Great choice for an affordable rate.

The structure gel took a long time so I thought it was going to be perfect and last long. However the very next day (10/3) I got a big chip. Went back to fix it (10/4) and then the next day (10/5) I see that many of my fingers have small chips that are most likely going to turn into big ones. To top it all off my finger is swollen, red, warm and tender!!! The tenderness began a day after on 10/3, as if from an infection. But by 10/5 my finger was swollen as if it was going to burst and 10/6 the cuticle was filled with puss. They did clip my cuticles alottttt. Like first one lady prepped my nails and clipped the cuticles but then the lady who actually applied the gel did it again before she started. So I'm pretty sure it's from that. I wanted to love this place but I'll never be back. I guess that's what I get for trying an out a spot and not sticking with my old faithful and to think I paid $85 for this service plus a tip. Update: I went back today 10/6 and was refunded. They were apologetic but I still won't be back.

Angela was super sweet and expert, and the whole experience (organic manicure) was $30 cash, and I felt fab afterwards. Give it a whirl, and see for yourself!
