We dropped our dog off at 11 AM and they said he would be ready at 3 PM. He wasn't ready until 5 PM. I asked where he was kept all of the hours that he was waiting to be groomed. No answer. They then brought a dog out and said "here he is." It was NOT our dog. We finally get him back and his face did not look like it was cut at all, even though we told him to do his face very short. We got him home and he drank water like he had been deprived of it all day. If you had a 0 star that is what we would choose. We will never go back there. read more

My dirty dog was no match for Monica's skilled hand. He went in for a groom and came out with a spa treatment and all cleaned up...whether he liked it or not is still undetermined, as he hasn't told me either way. But he looks and smells great and slept well all night, so I'm thinking he had a fun day. I was able to book online and found plenty of available appointments within a short time frame. I was worried that might be a bad sign, but it turns out that it was perfect. Their location is near my home and off a main road, so easy to find with plenty of parking. The staff was friendly and took good care of my mutt. It did take awhile-I dropped him off at 1:00 and called to check on him around five. I was told that he was almost done. So plan on several hours-which is fine by me-it wears him out so he won't pounce on me to play at midnight like he does on other nights. read more

My dog needed his nails trimmed so I decided to give this place a try, I used to bring my dog into the business that was here before Lucky Paws Pet Spa. Upon entering the atmosphere is very clean, and smells nice and new. The staff is very friendly, and you can tell they're happy and excited about their new business. I loved that I was able to book my appointment online, I will definitely be back! I am going to tell all my friends and family about Lucky Paws Pet Spa. Updated: Also, not while ago, I paid in full including tips at the store but the receipt and the invoice I got in an email says that the tip was edited. I edited myself back for the right amount of tip I gave at the first time. Again, I don't think it was on purpose but they need to fix these problems for sure. This is our third time grooming with Lucky paws and tried three different groomers to see who is better. They do have cheaper price for me to not expect high quality of work for more detailed finish (some missing spots and unfinished trimming the nail leaving sharp) but so far I like coming here. My dog, blueberry also seems like he likes the place better than going to the vet. Kylee was very fast and I am pretty satisfied with the outcome. I also was very satisfied with the first time we went there but I cannot remember her name. She had a brown short hair with probably with some bang hair. I don't know. One thing I would mention is to make sure if they have mis charged you with something that your dog didn't get. People can mistake. System can be mixed up. I think it is also my responsibility to double check the bill before you pay. - They got spa option for $13 more on my bill which I did not ask for nor my dog got it. I recommended Lucky Paws to my Son for his new puppy Stitch which is a French bull dog . He needed his claws trimmed & decided to do a bath also. They drop him off on a Sat morning & they said he would be ready in 4 hours . When they pick him up & got him home they noticed both his eyes were red & he was having a hard time breathing. He was not acting like himself & would not eat or drink .My Son called & left a message as to what could have happened. No response . Lucky paws was closed the next 2 days Sun & Mon. He called on Tuesday & told them of his concerns they said the owner was on vacation but she would call back. They waited a few days & called back & was told the owner would call him back. My Son never received a call back. This is very unprofessional & shows lack of care .They must have used a harness system that choked Stitch . I would not bring a Frenchie , Pug or any type of these dogs here ! I have been bringing both of my dogs here for years so has my daughter brought her dog . We have not had any problems . After seeing what happened to my Sons puppy we will not be back . Stitch is ok but it took several days for him to get back to his normal self to start eating & his red eyes to clear up read more

It was time to get our "dangerous" cats groomed again, but we decided to find a new place with a more experienced groomer. I saw this place here on Yelp and checked out their website and reviews, and all fingers seemed to be pointing to this place. We were able to book our appointment online, and upon arrival had to fill in some basic paperwork before departing. For two cats, it took a little longer than usual, mainly because the cats' medication had worn off by the time the groomer was able to get to them. (We took the advice of the last groomer at a different store.) Even though the cats were at their worst by the time it was their turn, our groomer still managed to give both cats shave-downs, baths, and nail trims. And while she wasn't able to accomplish everything the way we wanted, she still did a beautiful job with our furry devils and we're very happy with her work. The price was also much better than other places I was quoted for, which tacked on at least $100 for exams and medication to sedate them - on top of the cut. So I was looking at nearly $200 per cat!. At Lucky's, with tip (20%) and two groomed cats, we paid less than $220. Experience goes a long way when it comes to grooming, and this place has it down. We will be taking their advice and recommendations, and returning to them for our cat grooming needs. read more

MY THOUGHTS ON YOUR REPLY: Thank you for getting back to me, I have a few notes I would like to add just so we can be on the same page. 1. A statement needs to be false in order for it to be defamatory. I posted to my Instagram story that my dog came home from the grooming appointment unable to walk and the other one was bleeding from his eye. Both true statements we have agreed on. 2. My husband was not there during her full service. If you remember you called me when they were ready 1.5 hours after the estimated time which is when he left to pick them up. 3. This has never happened to her before so I don't know why you would claim my husband stated that. He disagrees with that false statement. 4. I sent the vet bills with my emails to you and I was never threatening in my wording. So also false! 5. Besides the voicemail the next morning including the owner's admission of guilt, no one from the grooming establishment has checked in or replied to my emails. 6. The police never cleared you of fault, they simply couldn't find probable cause to call it criminal. Although, your negligence caused injury to our dogs and cost us over $5,000 in vet bills. 7. My husband's kindness has nothing to do with the issue, he clearly didn't realize the severity of her injuries when picking her up..... I'm also sure she was happy to see her dad and be leaving your "care." I could go on with ALL of the many things that are wrong with that insincere "apology" BUT the fact of the matter is, none of those details even matter, they are "he said she said". All that matters is I took my dogs to your salon and both were returned with injuries. Our two-year-old puppy was so badly injured we had to reconstruct the anatomy of her leg for any hopes of her being able to use it. You admitted you were at fault and stated that you would pay for the vet bills. I would LOVE to avoid any more legal action but that is entirely up to you and whether you are willing to stand by your word. If I brought my car to the car wash and it was returned with a bent frame, shouldn't the car wash be held responsible? Honestly the most amazing pet groomers we have ever been to! We live in Saratoga Springs and think the commute is so worth it because of our groomer Samantha. She is so personable and asks what our preferences are, gives us a detailed run down on how she will groom our dog, and you can tell the genuine love she has for animals (our dog wags her tail every time she sees her). She even gives us tips for at home maintenance and goes above and beyond on the little things that other groomers have overlooked. To put the icing on the cake, we even get little photo updates texted to us on how our dog is doing. I wanted to like this place. The first time I took my dog there, I was quoted 4 hours to pick her up. It took 8. And when I called check on her, I was told the another dog was taking a lot of time because it was very matted. That was frustrating. She was very stressed when i picked her up.. Because of all the good reviews, I thought maybe that was just an anomaly. So I took my dog back for a second time using a different groomer. I found this place on Yelp specifically due to its high reviews and since we are new to the area, I thought we'd give it a try. When we arrived, the groomer was excited to see my dog and was extremely sweet. My dog seemed comfortable enough to go to the back with her, so off I went until they called for me to come get him. When I picked him up, he was so happy and looked extremely well groomed. I was impressed with how well he looked. He is a 60 lb Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix and his fur looked beautiful. Later that day at home, I noticed he seemed a bit lethargic. I figured the excitement of the appointment just wore him out. The next morning he didn't eat his food. Sometimes he does that so I didn't think much of it because he usually eats it later but when later came and he didn't eat it, I started to get worried. He wouldn't come out of his cage (which is abnormal) and he seemed extremely weak. Not to mention he was drinking extreme amounts of water, but no food at all. The next morning when I woke up and he still hadn't eaten his food, I decided to examine him. Upon pulling back his fur, I discovered he was covered in scabs and open lesions he was leaking out of. On his belly, he was covered with red bumps. I noticed he felt warm, so I decided to take his rectal temp and it came out to 103.9. I immediately contacted his vet and she was in disbelief of his temperature. After seeing his skin, she determined he developed a Staph Infection. She prescribed him antibiotics, an ointment spray, and a steroid and I had to call off of work to take care of my pup for I was afraid to leave him home alone feeling miserable. I called the store and no one answered so I left a voicemail explaining what happened and leaving a callback number. No one ever called me back after waiting 3 days for a response. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt so I called again, and spoke with the manager. She was really empathetic about the situation and explained to me that the only thing she could think of that would have caused this inverse reaction on my dog was a new product they were using that week in their shop. I want to believe this place had the best of heart, but I've taken my dog to numerous grooming places and never has he had this terrible of an experience. I spent not only $80 for the appointment ($70 for the service and a $10 tip) but another $100 at the vet to get the care he needed from said appointment. The manager said she would send over this situation to the person who works in the store that handles these cases and that they would get back to me to hopefully help pay for his vet bill. I never heard back from them and I'm disappointed. I was willing to take the situation as a simple mistake if they would had at least offered a refund for the service since my dog had to suffer from it. But it seems they don't value their customers and their business so we will not be returning. Be careful going to this shop. read more

I took my golden doodle in at 10:30 and at 3:30 I called to see how she was doing. They indicated that she would be ready at 4:30. My guess is that is when they started working on her. She was there for 6 hours! Instead of combing and trimming her hair, they completely shaved her entire body. I was charged 121.00 and I gave a 20 percent tip before seeing their work. I feel like if you are going to do something as drastic as shaving a dog, especially in the winter when it is 30 degrees out, you should contact the client. I would not have agreed to it. We will not be going back. We took both our dogs in at 1pm. We were close by at 5pm and stopped in to see if by chance they were done. We were told they were understaffed today and it would be 2 more hours. Annoying, as they close at 6. We went back at 7 (no call) and waited another 20 minutes before they were done. Both cuts look super rushed (it's obvious why, as they were still cutting 1:20 after they were supposed to be done.) We ended up having to cancel evening plans because we were still waiting around for our dogs to be done after 6+ hours of being there and over an hour after closing. Believe me when I say my pups and I have been through the ringer with groomers. I personally own two poodles and a doodle, and they need to be groomed regularly (every 6 weeks if you're doing a traditional poodle haircut, I can stretch it because I just shave them). My doodle has come home with double ear infections in addition to that they've all come home with ear infections. Misc cuts all around their bodies that range in depth. So as you can tell I'm pretty weary where I bring my dogs to. Their schedules are tapered so they don't go all at once, this go round was my miniature poodle, Macky, my beloved. I called to make an appointment and I was told the soonest was Tuesday. I hesitated for just a moment as I rushed to pull up my work schedule to see if I could make it work and that moment of hesitation worked in my favor! They were able to get me in the next morning. If you are a veteran in the grooming field you know that this is extremely rare. When I arrived this morning I'm sure the cute gal could sense my unease. Right now we are having skin allergy issues and he requires a lot of extra work. She waved it off as no big deal, and assured me she would take special care of him. Even said she had the same shampoo as the medicated one I brought in so I didn't have to waste my own, which was a money saver for me! Now, when I take my dog to the groomers I never expect a time for them to be ready. I disregard whatever timeframe I'm given because I understand accidents happen. My standard poodle once peed on himself every time after a different groomer tried to bathe him. Stuff happens. Just wait for the call. So I arrive and the cute gal from earlier brings him out. This is the moment where I know I'll bring all my dogs back here. She starts out by gushing about how cute he is, and I know this but I just like to hear it from other people. She explained the process of how she bathed him. Made sure he was kept away from other dogs in case of extra allergens. Then, there was a small irritated spot on his foot and she made sure to point it out to me. Not many groomers would point out any imperfection. She was able to assess the situation and my needs. Plus she took superb care of my little babe. My final test which was passed with flying colors, was there was absolutely no little nicks or cuts on him. His skin is already a big concern she knew that he just needed that extra bit of love. Once I find out the groomers name I will edit and post it! She was truly amazing! read more

Each time I brought my Golden Retriever in, she was bleeding then got scabs. The owner said it was the shampoo. While looking at the generic shampoo I watched the owner grooming a small dog. It yelped from being nicked. She told the dog, "I didn't hurt you.!" Of course she hurt him & should have comforted him instead of denying what she had done! The next time I brought in my own fulminator shampoo & conditioner. My dog still had blood & scabs down the middle of her back. That same time I called to see if my other two dogs were done from being deskunked. She said no they are still being dried. Exactly 20 minutes later I get a call that they are finished. A friend brought them home before we noticed their feet hadn't been touched! I had also asked for my German Shepards long mane hair be trimmed which she said ok but then didn't do it. She told my friend that's not how we groom German Shepards. Well this dog could be a mix I don't know, but his neck hair grows 2-3 inches longer than the rest. The feet were corrected but I didn't get a return call when I complained about his mane not being trimmed. My dogs were not brushed enough to take the hair off from using the furminator shampoo. My dogs blankets had more hair in the lint bin, after being laundered then ever before! The day I dropped them off two young ladies said they were new & didn't know anything yet! Before, their was a young gal that did a great job on my a golden, except for the scabs. Looks like she left. The owners daughter had told me they would give me a free grooming because of the scabbing. When the owner rung me up I repeated what the daughter had said but mentioned you don't need to give me a full grooming free. She took off $5! I thought a quarter discount maybe a half price discount? I know Petsmart trains their groomers but I don't think this place officially trains. I only went back because of the skunking & appreciated that she could get my two skunked dogs in that day. Never again!! This review is about 18 months in the past. We used to love Lucky Paws. I am a breeder, and I would recommend Lucky Paws to my clients. However, I am not sure what has happened? I don't know if they have had a change in management or what, but the atmosphere has drastically changed for the worse. The last few times we have gone have been really bad. Last time, I just assumed they were having a bad day. One of our dogs looked great, but the other two were not good. The cuts were really uneven, and it looked really rushed and ragged. They had our dogs for 7 hours, so I don't know why they looked so bad. When I am paying $100+ per dog, I expect them to look good. Today was awful. I took my dogs in at 10 am. By 4:00 I had not heard anything, so I called to see if the dogs were ready. My kids and I had an evening class and we were going to be late. The lady that I spoke with said they were almost done, and that I could come get them in another 45 minutes. I had to do some juggling to get my kids where they needed to be so that I could pick up the dogs at the later time. When I got there, an hour later, the dogs were still not done. They asked me to come back in another 45 minutes. I explained that I was already late for my class, and that I would prefer to wait. While I sat there waiting for another hour, I listened to the groomer in the back yell and swear at the dogs. It was very concerning, and honestly rather abusive, not at all professional. We color one of my dogs tails different colors for fun, It was something Luck Paws introduced to us a few years ago, and we loved it. Today, when my dog came out, the dye was everywhere. It was all over he backside, her paws, etc. It looked terrible. I asked the receptionist how to get the dye out. She said I would need to speak with the groomer. When the groomer came out, the groomer immediately started yelling at me, saying "What do you expect when you don't give us enough time?" I replied by saying that my dogs had been there since 10:00am, and it was now 6:00 pm, so I didn't understand why she was saying that they didn't have enough time? She went on with a barrage of verbal assaults, and yanked my dog into the back. Then about 10- 15 minutes later, she shoved my dog out the door, without a leash or anything, and slammed the door shut behind him, all the while yelling about how upset she was that clients don't give them enough time. I had not been rude to any of them, I simply explained that I was running late because they were behind, and that I needed to get to my class. When my dog came out with dye everywhere, I simply asked how I could get it out. That was apparently the wrong thing to ask, because it set off the groomer. When the lady started yelling at me, I did not yell back. I replied that I was very disappointed the poor job and the lack of professionalism. We will not be going back to Luck Paws, and I would not suggest this place to anyone. They are very unprofessional, negligent, and abusive. read more

I was referred to Lucky Paws by my daughter & son in law. I scheduled a grooming for my Cocker Spaniel. I met Sherrie, Owner and Samantha, Groomer. Both were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The Spa is convenient to me, very clean & well organized. They make good use of technology to schedule, keep information and make payments. The grooming area can be viewed from a glass door window. Grooming only took 2 hours. My dog Gracie adjusted well to this environment and was calm when I picked her up. Her grooming looked great, she smelled good and was clean. Her ears were clean and very soft. Most of all her ears were groomed to protect them from infections. Her nails were perfectly trimmed. Gracie was not injured at all during the grooming. The price was about $10 more than I'm used to paying. However, I'm very satisfied with Lucky Paw's service. I have already scheduled Gracie's next grooming. I recommend Lucky Paws to you too. read more

I have had my kitty to this salon once before and was very pleased with his grooming, however this time was very different. To start with, the woman at the desk was very rude. I was told the bring in vaccine records when I came in, which I did. When I checked in the woman asked if I had trouble with the app. I said no, I made the appt online, then called to confirm. Then she said, so you did have trouble with the app. I was confused and said I didn't use an app. I wasn't aware that there is an app, to which she replied that they no longer take paper vaccine records so I needed to put it on the app. OK. so do I still have an appt? She was just so condescending. I left my cat at noon and was told it would be a couple of hours. After 4 hours I tried to call with no answer. I tried again 1/2 hour later. Again no answer, no voicemail. I got in the car and headed up there and got a call 1/2 way there that he was done. Yippee. OK so they were busy. I paid the $102, which was more than quoted, as well as a $20 tip. When I got home and took him out of his carrier I was livid. Worst grooming job ever. It was definitely not a lion cut. There was no mane, no boots and barely a bob on the end of his tail. That's not the worst though. He has a huge chopped bald spot at the bottom of his head on his back. I've never seen anything like that. I went into the store today to talk to someone about it and try to work it out as an adult. The same woman greeted me at the counter. I told her I needed to talk to someone about his grooming and that I was very disappointed. I showed her pictures of what they did to him. She tried to tell me that he was matted and that's what they had to do to remove the matting. I told her he was absolutely not matted at all. It was obvious that someone screwed up. She treated me like I was lying and was just rude and smug. Regardless, even if it were matted, which it was not, there is no reason for what they did. Before dropping my dog off, I inquired via an email exchange about the groomer's mask policy. I was told "We wear masks and we sanitize regularly." When I picked my dog up, I saw before I entered two unmasked employees standing next to each other at the front desk. When they finally noticed me at the door outside, the receptionist put up her mask and motioned for me to enter. I had to motion back to ask that the second employee don her mask. I then voiced my concerns that COVID is a respiratory illness, and the receptionist told me that it is spread through "hard surfaces, so we clean those regularly". After this verbal interaction, a third maskless employee came from behind a door carrying my groomed dog. The cdc.gov website states there are documented cases of a few dogs and cats getting COVID from humans, and while there have been no causal links from infections spreading from pets to humans, there is some evidence that other animals (minks, raised on farms in Denmark) have spread the disease to humans. In any event, I feel like I was lied to about Lucky Paws' mask policy and now will be worried for several days about my pet getting sick. If employees were not wearing masks when I had dropped off my pet, I would not have left her there. read more

My dog had an excellent groom. They cleaned her teeth which was an added bonus. It was a long day as they had a few call in sick. Having ran my own business, I understand how difficult this can make things and literally ruin your day. My recommendation for this shop owner/manager is to have the receptionist call to see if anyone can reschedule. I for one would have been happy to do that and it would have been better for all. I don't want a stressed groomer working on my dog. While waiting, a customer came back very angry about how her pet was groomed saying she would not ever be back. I understand the customers point, but I also had lots of compassion for the groomer. She was doing her best under difficult circumstances. I wish people in all walks of life could try to be more kind and compassionate to others. It's not only bad for us, but for businesses. Ever since the pandemic hit, life has changed for all of us. We've taken our little fur baby here to get her nails trimmed and she loves it. They are so fast and quick. They spray her with some yummy smelling spray and she leaves happy. Totally love this place and super close to home read more

When we were forced to find a new groomer due to covid, we were grateful that Lucky Paws was willing to get our goldendoodle in. They did an amazing job with her. She had matting and they were able to cut her down without making her look completely shaved and naked. We've since recommended Lucky Paws to a friend with a doodle and they've done an amazing job with her, too. You can tell that they REALLY do care about the dogs and that was important to me. Our dog went into Lucky Paws Pet Spa May 2020. We were cautious about taking him into a groomers because of the Covid-19 concerns. We have read the previous reviews and thought that this would be a good place to take our dog since our current groomer was closed. They were cautious about having the vaccines up to date and the personal was knowledgeable. The grooming was well done! Days later he started to show symptoms of Kennel Cough. We know that that is the only place that he had been exposed to other dogs. We are still dealing with Kennel Cough and feel bad that our dog had been exposed. We wish that there was a better sense of cleanliness to prevent the spread of illness. read more

My pup always loves coming in and leaves happy with a nice fresh pretty cut!! We've been coming here for about 6mo, and no complaints at all! They always do a great job with my longer haired dog, and the grooms are always exactly what I ask for! They also put pretty bows and bandanas on them :) read more

Samantha did an amazing on my babygirl! She was so nice and went over everything she was going to do on my dog and I appreciated how she cleaned out her ear and removed hair. I have gone to Lucky Paws twice and both times I have had to take my dog back to get fixed. They left long hair on her legs and belly and the top of her head is completely choppy. I took her today and all of her feet and done terribly. Hopefully they will fix her tomorrow. read more

What a great experience and great job Hannah did with my dog Penny. When I dropped her off I let them know Penny doesn't like her paws touched and she may be a difficult to groom. We talked for a bit & went over some options. Hannah was able to give Penny the Spa treatment package, brush her teeth AND her haircut looked better then it ever has.
