To make matters worse, for about 10 minutes it felt like she was just rubbing oil across my back with almost no actual massage. I've had many professional massages over the years, and this didn't feel therapeutic at all. I had booked a 90-minute massage but ended the session early because I couldn't tolerate another hour of being scolded to relax. I asked the front desk to stop the session and she kindly shared that I didn't have to pay for 30 min I was there because she visibly saw me upset. For context, I lift weights regularly, so some muscle tightness is normal. Tight muscles do not mean someone isn't relaxed. Being repeatedly lectured instead of listened to made the entire experience stressful rather than relaxing.
