Great place for a foot massage! Located in Old Town GH, this location is super convenient. Street parking is ample and same day appointments are usually easy to come by. The business is set up as a large room with partitions, and pairs of recliners in between them. Privacy is not a priority there but you're always dressed so it's not a big deal for me. My daughter and I visited on a Sunday evening. We made the appointment one hour prior to our visit. We both got the combination massages. The foot massage was my favorite part. We both enjoyed our massage. The prices were reasonable. The combination massage was $40 for the hour. Foot massage only was also available. What you get for the cost is great deal. I am writing this review immediately after leaving Ohana Foot Massage in Granada Hills, and I am truly appalled by the entire experience. This was, without a doubt, the most unsanitary and unprofessional encounter I have ever had at a service establishment. This place used to be my regular spot, and I have recommended it to all my friends and family--but this disgusting behavior has completely changed my opinion. The horrifying experience began the moment I laid down on the massage bed when I felt something crawling. I looked down and saw a huge cockroach on my leg. I had to speak up multiple times to the therapist, who eventually grabbed the live cockroach with his bare hand and simply tossed it onto the floor. What happened next is unbelievable: The therapist immediately proceeded to touch my face with the same hand he had just used to grab the roach. I had to physically raise my hand and raise my voice repeatedly to get him to stop massaging my face. When I asked him if he had washed his hands after handling the pest, he did not respond and instead called the woman from the front desk. When the front desk staff arrived, I explained the entire situation, clarifying that the therapist had not washed his hands after grabbing the cockroach. The woman then repeatedly pretended that she could not hear me when I said there was a cockroach on my leg. It was not until I raised my voice to clarify the severity of the issue that she tried to hush me. I felt completely patronized. There was no apology, no offer to move me to a sanitary bed, and no attempt to address the issue of hygiene. Out of sheer disturbance and having made an appointment, I reluctantly sat through the remainder of the massage. The audacity continued at checkout: The front lady had the gall to ask if I would like to tip. I am appalled not only by the severe lack of sanitation and basic health standards but also by the complete lack of accountability and ownership displayed by the staff. Had they offered a genuine apology or shown any form of responsibility, I would not be posting this. Do not waste your money or risk your health here. read more

The people who are giving low reviews do not understand how reflexology works. I used to go a woman who would charge $150 for two hours over ten years ago who was a "Western" reflexologist. In reflexology, you are manipulating points in the foot and it sometimes does not feel like anything. When she left, I became a fan of "foot massages" over craniosacral therapy and deep tissue, because I could feel other parts of my body when each point was gently pressed. This said, I have also been to "foot massage" places that manipulate these points harder. But, harder does not necessarily mean better. Tonight, when I went in, my body cracked in multiple places while the practitioner was gentle. As for tipping: I tip for the amount of time spent. Those reviewers that are complaining about tipping 5 or ten dollars should not be getting massages period. I tip for time. If I go in for an hour, I tip 20 dollars. For an hour and a half, I will tip more. Just because this place isn't what the reviewers expect -- in terms of technique -- shows they really do not have much experience with modalities. Aside from going to a reflexologist, I have been to many upscale and mid-range spas in various parts of the United States. So, those reviewers complaining, the naivete and racism shows. Why are you not tipping for work provided, because the workers are Asian thus don't deserve a living wage? Each time I have gone here, even if the surroundings and environment are minimal, I have always been treated with respect and have been given good service. I am glad there is a local spot in the neighborhood that provides what I need. Just for background information, when I lived outside the Valley, some of my favorite lower-priced places were YOLO and NOW. My husband and I came here for a massage. The value is excellent. We opted for the $40/hr combo massage. They spent 30 minutes massaging my feet and 30 minutes on my back. The massage started out with a warm foot soak. While my feet were soaking, my massage therapist was massaging my shoulders and arms. I believe, midway, my massage therapist switched out with another massage therapist. I had a female initially and then a male massage therapist. I felt like the female massage therapist hit my pressure points well. The male massage therapist had perfect pressure for my back. There was plenty of parking on the street. read more

They get every pressure point, chakra, they crack your back, crack your fingers, massage your temples and work every bit of pain to pleasure. I came here last week with intense body pain and feeling very depressed and left feeling joyful, refreshed and restored. It's down the street from my parents house and never miss a chance to come here. You leave your clothes on but as a man I take off my shirt, women tend to wear sports bras, and they have lockers with keys to protect your stuff. I recommend calling ahead if your coming with people but if you by yourself they usually can take you immediately. I heard some people in Yelp complain they got bruised. That's on them. The massage people may not speak the best English but they understand "soft", "hard", "yes" and "no." One of the best massages I've ever had. Far better than massages that have cost twice as much at fancy spas. The male masseuse used the type of deep pressure (where needed) that is so hard to find at spas and massage places like Hand and Stone and Burke Williams. He also knew where to modify the pressure, and was skilled at finding my problem areas, using acupressure, and Swedish techniques. I could literally feel the knots and kinks being worked out. The pressure might be too intense for some - but it's what I wanted and I'm certain if I asked for a lighter touch he would have obliged. That said, manage your expectations when it comes to the atmosphere. This is not a day spa nor the type of place where you get naked for your massage (although I supposed you could if you wanted to). I wore a tank top with a bralette and thin workout shorts. The interior is sparsely decorated and there are no private massage rooms, just massage bays separated by curtains. The lighting is dim, and the sound of a fountain and meditative music is relaxing. However, beyond that there are no fancy spa-like amenities. That said, what it lacks in ambience it more than makes up for in quality of service. My husband had a massage at the same time (we treated ourselves for our anniversary) and he thought it was fantastic too. He even fell asleep several times. We splurged for the two-hour combo which was basically head-to-toe with an approx 45 minute focus on feet, ankles and calves. The rest was back, shoulders, neck, arms, head, etc. The cost was an incredible $80 each + tip. We tipped $40 each (50%) and they deserved it. I was asked if I wanted add. tip to my charge, I said how much which was 18 percent of my service but I was asked to give more! Great value for your money. It's $40 for a 1 hour combo massage, which is a full body massage (also expect to tip on top of that). I'm a regular here, and I've never gotten a bad massage. Even though I never tell them anything, the masseuse is great at finding my achy spots and massaging them out. They only have cloth hangings separating the beds, but every time I've gone (on a weekday), there hasn't been anyone else so it hasn't mattered much to me. I could see it being a little awkward if it was really busy. Ladies, if you want the oil massage on your back, I recommend wearing a bra with a hook closure so it's easy to unhook for the oil portion. read more

Don't get me wrong, the staff was very nice and the price wasn't bad. My problem was the massage itself. In the beginning she immediately was going too hard for me so I told her I want it softer. I don't think she understood cause she never went softer. They really find the tight spots and do some work on it! They let you pay and tip on your card, but be sure to tell them exactly how much.
