I had a coupon for Lucky Shotz and it was a Friday night in Wisconsin, so stopping in for a fish fry just made sense. I got mozzarella logs for an appetizer and went with perch and potato pancakes for the entree. The menu says the mozzarella logs were Italian breaded, but my waitress informed me that they instead had wonton style. In addition to being wonton wrapped it was almost like they were battered, but very dryly so there was a dust or powder on the outside that was kind of unpleasant. If this is a permanent change in style I wouldn't get them again. I really enjoyed the potato pancakes. They were clearly homemade and had some nice crispy edges. I appreciate that they came with both syrup and applesauce by default because I will always ask for syrup for my potato pancakes and having applesauce too is a bonus. I'd venture that most places that serve perch do it with beer batter. Having it breaded with cornmeal was certainly different. I don't think the breading accentuated the flavor of the perch like beer batter does and maybe even covered it up more than I would have liked, but I enjoyed the crispiness it achieved. The menu didn't specify lake perch or yellow perch, so I was expecting something cheaper like pike perch when it said the meal came with five pieces. Instead, it was yellow perch, which is fantastic, but I find it odd they give you two and a half butterflies instead of a full three. Raise the price a little if you need to and give us the full third butterfly. read more

New bar taking over Big Cedar Lake! They opened a few months back and everything about it is great. The service and drinks are excellent. It is a Nashville centric bar with live music often. The food is great. Once the lake opens for the summer this will be an outstanding addition to the lake. They will be filling beer coolers and providing dock side food service. read more

Went there on Friday (9.26.25) for a fish fry. There were 3 of us arriving about 4:30. Maybe 6 people having dinner in the dining room. Hostess was not present. After waiting more then 5 minutes and being told by the bar tender we couldn't seat ourselves and had to wait for the hostess. Not sure if there was a problem behind the scene on however she certainly appeared to lack training and experience in being a hostess. We were finally seated. Our waitress was top notch. Two of our 3 dinners were fish - perch and breaded cod. Both of these entries resembled a frozen heat and serve dinners from the grocery store - overly breaded and once you got through it there wasn't much fish and what was there was tasteless. We've had much better friday fish fries at a fraction of the cost. We certainly will not be back. read more

Went there on June 13, 2025, with the intent to order fish. Not very busy. My mother and sister had been there before & wanted to try again. My mother & I ordered the "lightly breaded perch". When it was brought to us it looked like plates of deep-fried chicken. In hindsight we should have said something immediately. The "light breading" was so thick we had to peel it off into a pile to find the fish. VERY disappointing. I sent a nice review on their website under "contact us" & received an immediate response that looked like some service agency stating they would pass my concerns on & would get a response to my concern. Haven't heard back. It was obvious to us that whoever the cook was, they did not know how to correctly prepare lake perch. read more

Lucky Shotz not only gave this old restaurant an amazing transformation but a whole new attitude! Jim & Shannon helped us throw one of the BEST parties for our friend! They went above and beyond to ensure that our guests were not only properly fed delicious food and drinks but seated comfortably in our own private room. Finally stopped in for 2 old fashioned at the bar and then get something to eat. First time here with the newer owners in the Sat afternoon 2:30 a few at the bar and a few dining cold day 55 not a lot on the lake yet. Drinks very good well mixed. Wife had the cheese Quesada was big very well presented fresh lettuce peppers greens salsa etc on the side, took half home to eat again. Grilled Chicken sandwich big piece much bigger than the bun(fresh and really nice) cooked and seasoned nicely and greens/trimmings were fresh. Got the tater tots on the side to share instead of chips, hot fresh, fluffy in and nice crunch on the outside, no off flavor. Excellent. Jaden was really a great server and the bar gal did well there too. Prices competitive across the menu and the variety works to us vs pricing and availability for customers and the restaurant. Looks like bases are covered looks like the burgers are all half pounders. one section on the menu gets the salad bar. We will go back and the place is on our list for the area. read more

Stopped for a pizza. Not impressed. Sauce was sour crust was under done. Bartender was friendly but was doing multiple other jobs. A few guitars on the wall don't make a Nashville bar. And how dumb great view of the lake and you put 3 poker machines in front of the windows. I understand they make money but don't need to be there. Not a great experience. Arrived at 6:30. Took a little bit to get drinks, but not too bad. Husband ordered an IPA and they didn't serve him what he ordered. They just decided to substitute whatever as they were out of both IPAs on the menu. The food took over an hour to come out. Not really an excuse given, other than they "were slammed". Restaurant was 75% full. Didn't see many orders coming out of the kitchen at all. I ordered nachos. They came with very little cheese and they were cold and didn't have any sour cream or salsa. They brought me the sour cream, but said they were out of salsa. The chicken wings were good. But that was it. The Nashville hot chicken was just a thin chicken tender. Husband ordered another beer, a porter, and was told he was lucky as he got the last one. The waitress was not attentive and I had to track her down to get our check. Was going to be charged for fries for one of the meals, when it came with chips. Disappointing experience and won't be back until everything improves. read more
