    The final results. Amazing!
    Gordon C.

Simon and his team do great work. I had a driveway approach that was done incorrectly and was too high and too steep. I contacted Simon from Lucky Star for a quote. I had to wait about a week before Simon could come out and take a look, but I'm glad I did. Of all the quotes I received, Simon was the 2nd lowest but they seemed very reliable so I hired them. They were able to come out and do my driveway approach a week earlier than scheduled, which was a plus. They took one day to demo my old concrete, which was much harder than anticipated. They poured and finished the next day. The new driveway approach looks much, much better. Now I can pull into my driveway without having to worry about hitting the bottom of my car.

Simon and his team did a great job! I'm super happy with the finished product :). They also finished in one week! Simon came out fairly quickly to checkout my backyard and sent a quote within 24 hours. In the quote, he offered several options like if we wanted to go with paver or concrete. He also gave awesome suggestions on what he would do with the space and created a 3D rendering for us to visualize. We loved what we saw and went with them! I'm so glad we did because the backyard looks amazing :) Half way into the process, he FaceTimed me to give a suggestion on what might look better and I'm so glad he did! We fully trusted the team to make the backyard look good!

Took out old weeds. Leveled the soil. Added a drip system on a timer. Added landscape lighting. New plants, boulders and gravel.

Highly recommend Simon and his crew with Lucky Star Landscaping. They were able to come and assess the work I needed done and provided a quote within the next day. Fair price and great work. They finished the job in 3 days exactly how I wanted and even went a little further. Stayed late the 3rd day to finish. Simon even came back a couple days later to fix a clog in one of the drip lines. Well worth the money spent.

I spent a good month or two getting quotes from contractors looking to build a covered area for a smoker. During this time, the location and scope of the job changed, and Simon was more than happy to come back out and redo the quote in the new area. He also came in WAY under on pricing compared to virtually everyone else. We wanted redwood, and other companies were wanting double what Simon quoted us. Once we came to an agreement on design and color options, they got to work almost immediately. Simon and crew spent the week working on it, and did a great job capturing what we wanted. They worked around some structural challenges we had, namely a slab of concrete that was lifted by a tree. We could not be more happy with the work these guys did, and will absolutely be looking to use their services in the future.

We had Simon and his team at Lucky Star Landscaping pour and build a stamped concrete furniture zone with two open planter sections in front of our home. It was an absolute pleasure working with him. He stopped by our house and quoted us within 24 hours of the initial outreach. When we scheduled the work for two weeks later, his team showed up promptly, did a wonderful job, and were finished by the evening, as promised. Great communication skills, good price, and professional all around. 5 Stars.

They really made our vision of the backyard come to life. They even made suggestions to make the backyard look even better as well as easy to maintain. Simon was extremely accommodating and patient (our AC was being installed on the start of the project) and he collaborated with us so the unit fit seemingly to our backyard project even though it wasn't initially planned. Simon, Tom and his crew were extremely detail-oriented. We are so happy with the work they have done, they did a beautiful job and we look forward to working with them again in the future. Highly recommend their services!

This is my second project with Simon. He responded same day and came next day to repair my patio. He did really good job and we are really satisfied with the result. Highly recommend if you find landscaper who is responsible with craftsmanship.

Lucky Star Landscaping is truly a hidden gem!!! My mother's backyard is very big, and this project only took about 8 days. Mind you, the backyard was very bare with weeds growing out yearly. It was just a hassle to maintain such a big yard. So my mom and I called Simon over for an estimate it was the best estimate we've got! We chose Lucky Star to do the project right away. We wanted black sheets and gopher nets for gophers and weeds through the whole backyard, and laid artificial turf on top. The hardest part was ordering the artificial turf, my mom and I were having a hard time since everywhere was out of artificial turf and it would've took weeks for the new turf to come in. But Simon was quick to handle the situation and got the artificial turf RIGHT AWAY. The other half of the yard we planted five fruit trees and ordered peat moss to be laid out. The walk way from made from scratch with materials like slate and rock that we already had. All the workers did an amazing job! They came during the hottest weeks of the month, yet they still did an excellent job. They were all nice, funny, and very sweet. I'm very glad we hired them! Our next project will be our front yard, and we will definitely hire Lucky Star Landscaping for the second round!

After reading all the positive reviews, I called Leyva Concrete and spoke with Alfredo. He came out, looked at the space and we talked through the process. This is ONLY because we checked daily work and instructed them to fix mistakes and sloppy work. They spent a lot of their time redoing what should have been completed right the first time. Daily progress (or lack there of) showed us that the owner/project manager (Tevita/Mata) is not a good project manager nor that he gave his crew clear direction on this project. The process after contract signing was horrible...not at all professional. The project took much longer than Tevita initially quoted (over 2 months vs the 2 weeks he originally told us). This resulted in change orders and cost overruns. He also tried to charge me to fix their breakage/mistakes/errors (e.g., fixing the sidewalk his workers broke). His crew was not respectful of our property (we had to live with their mess...it's not a vacant lot). They did not regularly clean up the work site nor organize equipment and materials left onsite. Seeing their lunch garbage (cans, bottles, wrappers, etc.) at the end of their workday was common. This continued even after repeated complaints to Tevita and to his crew. No one on site could to provide straight answers as to that day's work or when specific project goals would be completed. Whenever I would spoke with him, Tevita made excuses, provided misinformation, denied deliverables he previously promised, and deflected from answering direct questions. He has a habit of talking over the customer when asked questions he doesn't like. On at least one occasion, he raised his voice and started yelling to avoid answering questions. If it was not in writing, he'd say it wasn't what we discussed. I have never had such issues when working with professional/reputable companies. Tevita and his crew failed to meet every single deliverable date he set. I found him very difficult to work with. I feel that he does not show proper respect to the customer. Instead he appears to think that the customer, the person paying him, should accept subpar work. I suspect that he may also not fully understand the processes involved with the work being performed. I feel that Tevita and Lamata Concrete are not professional. They didn't use professional equipment and they didn't manage the job site or their onsite work time professionally. Their workers typically started late morning and were gone by early afternoon. Lamata Concrete has major logistical problems. They couldn't get an adequately-sized crew or required materials to the job site at the start of any given day, typically interrupting workflow for hours to go fetch supplies. Had they staged materials and tools at the worksite (where there was ample area to store all materials needed for the entire project) and had his crew worked a full 8 hours per day at the job site, I believe they could have finished weeks ago. They are SLOW...3 weeks for a stamped concrete driveway and pathways. I definitely CANNOT recommend them for a cinder block wall. It took way too long (over 2 months) to complete. I feel like they have never built this type of wall. I regret hiring Lamata Concrete. I CANNOT recommend Lamata Concrete nor would I use them again. They were such a hassle to work with compared to the many other professional/reputable companies I have hired. My opinion...take their negative YELP reviews seriously and ask for references and talk to those references. Tevita's response is a great example of how he makes excuses, provides misinformation, denies promised deliverables, and deflects from addressing the real issue. I find it a bit childish and very unprofessional.

A couple of years ago they helped me with a smaller concrete project, and I was so impressed by their professionalism and craftsmanship that I knew I would reach out again when it came time to redo my entire backyard. From the very beginning, Eric stood out for his clear communication and honesty. His quote was very fair compared to other contractors I contacted, but what really made a difference was how much thought he put into the design and planning. My backyard was in pretty bad shape -- uneven ground, cracked areas, and even a section near a retaining wall that wasn't very stable. Eric carefully looked at every problem and came up with creative, affordable, and effective solutions. He never tried to upsell or rush decisions. Instead, he made sure I fully understood each option, and he adjusted the plan to fit both my budget and my vision. During the construction, Eric and his dad worked with incredible efficiency and attention to detail. Every single day, they arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up so thoroughly before leaving that I could barely tell it was an active construction site. That level of care and respect for a client's home is rare and deeply appreciated. The final result completely transformed my backyard -- the concrete surface is smooth, solid, and beautifully leveled. They even paid attention to the small finishing touches that many contractors might overlook. The project was completed right on schedule, exactly as promised. Eric and his father are honest, reliable, and take great pride in their work. You can tell they truly care about doing the job right, not just getting it done. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to hire them again or recommend them to anyone who needs high-quality concrete work. They're the kind of people you feel lucky to find -- hardworking, trustworthy, and genuinely good at what they do.

Our meeting with Rangel gave us confidence that they understood the project and would be pleasant to work with. They provided a very competitive bid and were available to start the project in time to ensure that it was completed by the end of summer. Some contractors would not commit to a timeframe or estimated that it would take more time to complete than seemed reasonable.  Francisco and his crew began work at 7:00 each morning and worked hard the entire day with just one much needed lunch break. Rangel had all the necessary equipment for this sizable project. They removed the old wall and dirt, dug a new trench, installed rebar, stirrups, ties, drain rock, waterproof membrane, built forms for the new cast concrete wall, etc. The site was kept as clean as possible.  Francisco was very pleasant to work with. He persistent and creative in bringing the plans to life with forms and rebar. He made useful suggestions, was very communicative, and was clearly committed to the outcome. Maria kept us up to date, communicated well with the city inspector, and was delightful to work with. We recommend Rangel Concrete highly.
