We were invited here for a members only event. What a fun place to bowl, play pool, ping pong, or hang out and have a drink with friends or something to eat. The decor is neon modern and has a vintage vibe to it. Lots of colors and neon. Had so much fun bowling, prices are reasonable and the lanes are in great shape. The bowling balls from Lucky Strike, unfortunately, were really beat up, but the rental shoes were in really great shape. The 18 bowling lanes are modern and technologically up to date. We played a few games of pool too, there are a lot of tables here, 11 tables total, you should not have to wait for one. Food prices are reasonable, but drinks are a little on the high side. CORPORATE EVENT REVIEW (Holiday Party for a Group of 38) SERVICE We had only 1 server, however, for the size of our group (38ppl), it was inefficient to have only 1 person serving us. We needed at least 2 servers to keep up with drink orders, etc. One of our team members decided not to bowl and designated himself as a drink runner for our group, taking orders and going back and forth from the bar in order to help minimize the delays. BOWLING This is where we had the biggest issues. For our team event, we wanted to hold our own competition (round robin), however, there were many delays with the lanes, ultimately, cutting our bowling time down to an hour and a half. All of the lane, shoe, service delays, etc impacted our competition to the point where we didn't get to finish our competition - specifically, we had 2 teams that needed an extra 15 minutes to finish, however, we were not allowed to do so. The lanes turned off and we were told that we couldn't stay to finish the games. This was extremely disappointing considering the amount we paid for this company holiday event. FOOD Underwhelming, not as pictured. Much of the food looked undercooked/unappetizing. There were some delays with this service as well as the table wasn't prepped properly for the food - we had to ask for plates, utensils, extra napkins, etc. Another delay added to those playing in the competition when having to track down servers to get these added items. OVERALL Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend hosting a corporate event at this venue again. Very disappointing. read more

I came here with my family on an afternoon. This place does get busy at night so might be better to reserve a lane. We loved the arcade. We enjoyed most of the games. The food is your basic bar food but we didn't finish everything. I believe they are under new management because some menu items changed since the last time we were there?? with all the beeping the person at the redemptiln center was too quiet. I had to ask several times how to use the machine to redeem my winnings (not all on the card, sort for the inconvenience?) . the person disappeared so I asked the next available staff for help, at which point when they returned they asked for security to come over. both told me to put my metal tokens in the redemption machine (the second guy said he personally ordered all the machines...) and when i showed them it did not work as they instructed (after showing them the tokens and trying myself several times) they then tell me they are filler tokens. the loop I had counted. thenother tokens counted. the cards counted. but these don't after they said they did? Well we arrived at 8:15pm with my younger sister. We get in line to the arcade and they refused to let us in because our sister is 16 and we were in the arcade side wanting to play. After that I tell the person like since when they do 8pm and seems a little excessive to cut kids off at 8pm. 10 ideal. For the other side where you bowl, ideal. But 8pm?!?!? Get this it gets crazier when we were leaving there was a BUNCH of families and kids still IN THERE!!!! Lol. So when we go back to the guy at the front we tell him hey there's a bunch of kids there definitely younger than my sister what the heck is that. He says we're about to kick them out. We end up waiting about 20-30 minutes THEY NEVER DID. Any of them. So was this a racism act? Not sure. Maybe reevaluate your policy on when you should kick younger peeps out and maybe enforce jt 24/7 not just to whom you wish. I've never had issues with lucky strike and I've been to them many times. IGNORANCE AIN'T BLISS There were problems abound at this Lucky Strike Lanes for a Halloween event on 10/28/17. Upon arriving in full costume, we were given a drink ticket and admission ticket.....which we immediately handed to an ill-mannered bouncer no more than three feet later. Why even bother? That was a completely pointless interaction. With the exception of our server and one male bartender, the employee's attitudes were horrible. They were either apathetic (hostess stand), oblivious (lane reservation), or just plain grouchy (female bartenders). Almost everyone staffed here seemed to hate the fact that a costume party was taking place. We got a table towards the back of the venue and after a little while put in a food order for mac & cheese bites. Eventually we also ordered boneless buffalo wings as well as fish & chips. The mac bites came with mundane crinkle-cut potato chips (not their own) and marinara dipping sauce; there were not many of either. The boneless wings were BARELY sauced at all and it was heavy on breading, light on actual chicken. The side of blue cheese dipping sauce was essentially giant chunks of blue cheese, which made dipping anything besides a fork in them damn near impossible. While the fish & chips had a nicely-seasoned cajun spice batter, the planks of fish were far too few in number. I'm not sure what "Belgian" fries are, but there was nothing special about those that came with the 3-4 pieces. Troublingly, I looked up their menu online to verify how much I'd spent on food...... ......only to discover that there were NO PRICES LISTED!! I'm positive they did this on purpose, since if they *had* included dollar amounts then not a soul would ever order food here. The mac bites were $12. The anemic chicken nuggs were $12. The fish 'n' chips were $15. Everything was insanely expensive and not even close to good. Bread = 1.5 Circuses = 1.5 When it came to locking down a lane for free bowling, it was a disaster. We were told the wait was upward of 2-3 hours (!!!!) So I channeled my inner dad-mode and slipped the guy in charge of lane rez's $10 to bump me to the top of the list. He said "no problemo, man." Eventually it worked, but I had to repeatedly remind his goofy ass I gave him a tip in the first place! Seriously, how the sh*t can you forget a guy in full KISS leather apparel (with vibrant facepaint) personally handing you ten bucks?!?! No one's memory can be that bad. * TL ; DR * Between the unscrupulous practices of "hiding" their menu pricing online to deceive potential customers, the unpleasant demeanor of staff, and the overall clusterf*ck of actually getting a bowling alley, this place was one small gas can away from being a raging dumpster fire. I know that Lombard has a Lucky Strike Lanes inside Yorktown mall, so if I ever decide to go back, it'll be to _that_ location and NOT this crazy hot mess. I'd definitely recommend Kings (Rosemont) and Pinstripes (Northbrook, Oak Brook, Near North) over these assclowns any day of the week. Ridiculously costly and thoroughly unsatisfying. Decided to play a bit of pool, so I gave up my Texas driver license for the balls (pretty much standard procedure everywhere). Done, I returned the balls and... I don't know what happened next. Story started with my fiancé and I need to kill 1.5 hour after we finished Logan around 2:45 pm and need to leave for another appointment by 4:15 pm. We decided to try Lucky Strike and that turned out to be a not pleasant experience at all. Control desk lady told us that we don't have to wait for our two-round game if we can give her back Lane 16 by 3:45 pm, so sure, we took it. Then we realized the algorithm was totally off. We can get 2 points, sometimes only 1, even if the rolling ball falls into the gutter. Also, the pins layout on the screen doesn't match what's actually left in the lane... so the scoring system was totally messed up. Since we only had two games, we were both like "oh well..." However, one staff stopped by and checked if everything was fine, so of course, I told her the issues. She said I should talk to the control desk people and ask for a refund. By that time, it was 3:28 pm and we had 3 rounds each left. I then said we would do so after the game is finished because we need to give the lane back to her by 3:45. She didn't say anything so I thought that was okay. Funny things happened after we finished the game and went back to the control desk. Basically we can't get a refund because the game was finished. Manager said we can only complain during the game and possibly get a refund. This is RIDICULOUS!! I identified your problems which help you running a better business; I didn't complain before the game ends bc I tried to return it back so it won't affect your original plan... so I said "guess the manager doesn't mind seeing a complaint on yelp." I stopped here late on a Friday night (was just before midnight). My friend and I ordered after waiting for a server for about 10 minutes. He ordered a Quesadilla, and I ordered Sweet & Spicy Sliders and the Birria Tacos. It took about 40 minutes to get our food, and when we did, they were missing my sliders. I asked the waiter when they finally came back and he said it was put in and not to worry, I'll get them soon. Another 15 minute pass and at this time I see dozens or these sliders going out of the kitchen. Turns out they gave them to someone else as they were sitting next to my original plate on their cart. When the waiter put the order in again, it was 3 minutes until kitchen stopped accepting orders. They also, kept the sliders on my bill and didn't do much to help make this right. It averages out to $20 bucks each time that include 3 rounds, shoes, and a t-shirt. I came another time for a friend's b-day on a Sat night. Recall it being very affordable for a trendy spot. Dining area is separate from the lanes with an extensive menu of food and drinks. Quality, taste, and creativity of the dishes pleasantly surprised me. My first impression of Lucky Strike is that this is the ultimate place for adults to go if you want to relive some childhood memories. The place was huge and very empty but I went on a weekday so I'm not 100% sure this the norm for this place. Service: Everyone from the gentleman that handed us our bowling shoes to our waitress was very attentive and friendly. There was only two groups of people there so there was some pressure from our waitress to order a ton of stuff and every time we looked back she was there. Food and Drinks: The nice thing about this place is that you can go to Lucky Strike just to bowl or have a full-course meal at their restaurant section. As expected the food and drinks were rather pricey even the most basic of choices. Overall: This is a great place to go for either a date or with a group of your friends. Whatever system they deploy doesn't work very well. We were told 2-2.5 hour wait to get a bowling lane so we decided to get a drink and wait. After about an hour gone by, we realized that legitimately 3/4 of the bowling lanes were not being used. We waited another 30 minutes and saw that continue to be the case. We asked the man and woman in charge and they told us we had only waited 1.5 hours and had at least 1 more hour left. We asked why no lanes were being used and they said that they had to bus and clean them. When we said the open lanes already were cleaned, they said they then give folks 15 mins to show up before moving on to the next name. At the end of the day it just makes no sense to have 3/4 lanes open all Saturday night and make people wait in a 2 hour line. Please note, this review is solely based on my experience on St. Patrick's Day 2018 with tickets my friends and I purchased through Bash Chicago Events. My friends and I were looking for a place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day near the Chicago River as we wanted to see the river dyed green then be able to walk to a bar. We decided to get tickets to one of the many venues Bash Chicago was working with to offer great package deals for St. Paddy's Day. The closest venue and only one within walking distance was Lucky Strike so we purchased tickets for that particular event. We also figured it'd be less crowded and crazy than some other venues given its location. And we thought it'd be lots of fun since we could also bowl and shoot pool. Included in our $25 ticket were a breakfast buffet, green beer, Tito's bloody marys, and Tito's screwdrivers (Tito's was sponsoring). We were disappointed that this was a morning event and mimosas were not part of the package. Bar service was atrocious and that is putting it nicely. There were only 2-3 bartenders behind each of the 2 large bars with ZERO barbacks and ZERO waitstaff on the floor for the entire venue throughout the duration of the event (9a-1p). Needless to say, it took FOREVER to get a drink (20 minutes and up each time). Yet, the venue was not that crowded and drinks were super simple.... green beer, screwdriver (vodka and OJ), and make your own bloody marys (the bartenders literally only had to pour some vodka in a cup). Now you could also buy any drink you wanted and my friends wanted wine (also a VERY easy pour yet drinks still took FOREVER). Oh, and at one point a bartender handed my friend a glass of chardonnay she was paying for in a plastic champagne flute. We respectfully declined it and went to the other bar to wait some more to get her wine in the proper glass as the back bar said he could not pour it in a wine glass! WHAT!!!! Bar service was so beyond disappointing. Thankfully the breakfast buffet was decent offering eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham, fruit, bagels, croissants, and mini yogurt parfaits. The eggs were eggsellent (see what I did there) - perfectly fluffy. Too bad they ran out of them before 11a! Are you kidding me? The event was set to end at 1p and eggs are so cheap.... go to the store and get more! Finally, my friends and I were considering bowling until we found out the venue was charging full price... we felt they should've been offering a discount for the event patrons since it was an opportunity to win over more customers. Many of us present on St. Pat's wouldn't otherwise be there so it was an opportunity to entice us to return another time. Besides, there weren't that many people bowling so the venue would've made more money discounting the bowling that day. Anyway, overall we had a great time and the DJ did an excellent job, We loved the music. But both Bash Events and Lucky Strike could've been better prepared for the event. They can see how many people purchase tickets in advance and should use that number plus add to it to compensate for day of ticket buyers to ensure they have enough staff, food, and drinks available. P.S. If you're advertising an event as "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning," you should absolutely include bloody marys and mimosas in the package (the two quintessential breakfast drinks). It only makes sense and it's not that expensive. read more

I'm really torn on my review for this one. From a facility stand point this place is 5 stars. It's got everything for a night of fun whether it's a family fun night out, hanging with friends or going on a date. You can find something to do here. The facility itself is as clean as any place I have ever been in. They have bowling, pool, ping pong, a bar, restaurant, movie theater. Every area is spacious and clean. The bowling alley is probably the nicest I have ever seen! Lanes are spaced out well, so you aren't right on top of the person next to you. Each lane has what appears to be about an 80" tv above it showing sports action so you can keep up with the game. Lanes are equipped with comfy seating (seriously, they have couches). Additionally, the wait staff comes around to take your orders and serve you as you bowl. Staff is very friendly and attentive to the customers. So, why the 3 star review. It has to come down to price. As nice as this place is, there is another location exceptionally close by, that is very similar in offerings (no movie theater). Lucky Strike runs $65 per hour to rent the lane or $7 per game. In addition they are $7 for shoe rental. For my co-worker and I to bowl for an hour we were looking at $80. For comparison sake this is about $45 more than we spent at the other location. If you wanted to go by game, we bowl about 4 or 5 games an hour. At that rate the per game price would have still been $70 or $35 more than the other location. Not sure if they offer specials on specific days of the week, as we were only available to try this place one night. This was quite the night! I'll try to keep it breif. We are a party of 2 and I paid for 1hr of bowling. 15 minutes into our bowling sesh we realized the scoring was off and 1 pin wouldn't stay upright. No biggie, we told the staff, which told us to wait for the mechanic. After about 10 minutes a mechanic arrives, realizes lane is malfunctioning, tells us that a manager is on his way. Manager no where to be found, we put our shoes back on and decide to go get a refund. Manager tells us no refund, it's only at this time that they offer to put us on a different lane, but by now we have our normal shoes on and were pressed for time. He laughs and mocks us, saying "I've gotta check the tape to make sure that's what happened". And "I only heard about it once, so no refund." Pretty pathetic, and is a display of how terrible the customer service was. Ultimately, we paid 86$ for an hour of bowling and played only 15 minutes (on a defective lane). I would never hire that manager (Francisco, picture attached.) for any role and I hope if corporate is reading this, that you reconsider. read more

Had a good experience this weekend. I like that they have bowling and the arcade along with food and drinks. For food, the cheese curds were great. The Irish Fries looked great, but they were pretty bland. I did like the veggie burger, which seemed to be a black bean pattie they made themselves. Not one of those frozen ones. The service at this place was so so. Long waits and order mess ups. The pizza we ordered was apparently quite bad. The crust was burnt and nobody really are it. We didn't bowl, although the lanes looked nice. We played table tennis for a good half hour, which was fun. Only 10 bucks for 30 mins, which isn't bad. Then we headed over to the arcade, which was also a good time. I mean, in terms of things to do, there just a ton to do. Movies... Bowling... Pool... Table Tennis... Full-fledged arcade. A long time lover of Lucky Strike.....always a great place to hang out for bowling, pool, bar, food, and even a private party room. Tons of space here and the staff is super nice. Had the following meals: Veggie Wrap: very tasty, large portion, chipotle sauce really set it off. Grill cheese & Short Rib sandwich: Umm, not that great. No seasoning on the short rib or on the au jus. Super bland!! Fish & chips: large portion. Crispy, seasoned cod piled on a stack of hand cut fries. Chicken Wings: sauce for Asian sauce was good however the wings themselves were not marinated properly and were extremely bland. Fries w/ gravy: fries were decent, gravy had absolutely no taste at all. Please use a little grease from the fries or a little seasoning to make this dish superb! That being said.....I will definitely be returning to Lucky Strike. I love to bowl & drink, and drink & bowl, and then play pool!!! I will even order the Veggie Wrap again!!! I have to take advantage of a Lucky Strike that I don't have to be dressed in head to toe Gucci in order to get in! read more
