Since we were planning to do some errands in Leesburg, we decided to go to Noku for dinner. We were here on a Saturday at 4 p.m. At that hour, there weren't many customers. However, they do a good takeout business, as we noticed several people come in to pick up their orders. Before coming here, we looked at their menu. Thus, we knew what we wanted when we got here. Service was great. The staff here is friendly and efficient. Our server checked on us more than once during our meal. To drink, my husband ordered a Kirin Light beer while I ordered a glass of plum wine. Some Japanese places fill the glass too high, but here, the portion size was reasonable. I ordered "the poke bowl". I chose salmon for my fish. This bowl consists of "Sushi-grade fish topped with vegetables, mixed with poke sauce over a choice of mixed greens or rice". I chose the rice. Before coming here, I looked up "poke sauce." I found a website called "pokebowlny.com." This is the description they gave: "traditional poke sauce blends soy sauce, sesame oil, and often rice vinegar, along with aromatics like garlic and ginger. This classic combination makes the fish taste fresher, the vegetables more vibrant, and the rice more flavorful." The vegetables in the bowl were kernel corn, seaweed salad, and cucumbers. I really enjoyed having this meal! All the flavors worked well together. I look forward to having it again. Along with the poke bowl, a bowl of miso soup is included. That, too, was quite good, and it came to the table quite warm. My husband ordered "Tuna Don," which consists of "fresh tuna sashimi over rice & vegetables. His entrée came with both miso soup and a small side salad. The bowl had a big slice of radish, some seaweed salad, and the usual shredded daikon. The wasabi was really spicy - he could feel it in his nose and sinus cavity - it'll take your head off. Crunchy Negi Yellowtail Roll: Crispy green onion on top with a lot of rice but decent pieces of fish. Probably my favorite since I love yellowtail and crunchy greens in a special roll. It reminds me of the YTS roll at Ariake. Samurai: Looks like a lot of salmon but it's just on the top. Still with the sauce, it is a good special roll. Kenny Roll: So fatty from the avocado but the middle has more of the fish and as you get to the sides, it becomes more and more scarce. It also came with a nice warm miso soup and a salad. Pretty good specialty rolls overall, especially if you are hungry, but I would recommend them if you're hungry. The fish is alright but wasn't anything necessarily special. read more

DISAPPOINTED! Ordered to go, I got a simple order of chicken tempura roll. I have no clue what was going but the rice was over cooked/ soggy and the chicken had tons of fat and squishy parts surrounding it. It was super gross.... Considering I only got 5 rolls for $12.05 I expect higher quality products. I ate the first roll and gave my husband one. The first one tasted off and the rolls were falling apart but I initially thought nothing of it until each one continued having the same problem. That's when I took the roll apart to see what was up with it. The service was okay when I placed my order. I visited Noku for a Saturday night dinner after not having been back for a couple of years, and boy oh boy they're still so good! Everything we ordered tasted amazing, fresh, and came out super quickly! The chef took the time to make sure the dish look very presentable and make salmon melt in mouth. Lastly, their service has always been wonderful from always welcoming you in to attentively checking on your table during the meal. Grabbed dinner with my friend before a movie last night. We made it in just before 6, which couldn't have been more perfect. We were seated immediately and started ordering our dinner, while people flooded into the restaurant. My friend and I both ordered the chicken and steak hibachi which was delicious. Plus portions are decent, we both had to grab a to go box. Our hibachi meals came with a miso soup and side salad. We also had edamame as a starter. Service was quick but not overly friendly. So, I live in the Village (a year and some change) and just tried Noku out for the first time. I had the Dragon with spicy tuna. It was pretty decent. The soup that came with it was ok ... slightly bland. The dumplings were again ok... got it fried, (it dried it out) should have gotten it steamed. I still enjoyed them. The Ramen (my first choice) looked really delicious... will be back to try that. The server said if I want it spicy just let him know... which I will next time. Wide variety of options on the menu. I'm a sushi lover so of course that was happening! I customized our ordered of 3 rolls which came out quick and the presentation was beautiful. Prior to our food coming out were served side salads and soup which were included in the meal. The sushi was delicious. Best sushi I've had in the area. Everything taste fresh and so flavorful. I literally don't understand how less than a week later from my first review (this was on a WEEKDAY) that the service and food did a SHARP decline. I was raving about this place to my hubby after going with my friend so we ended up going. I got the bulgogi and green tea, he got the katsu, and we got the chicken karaage to share as an appetizer. Green tea was extremely hot and I couldn't drink it for more than half the time I was there. And it was burnt tasting. I tried to get water and my server had disappeared. We also didn't get the complimentary soup or salad. Chicken karaage didn't have enough sauce and the breading kept falling off. Cheap cut of chicken. Bulgogi had NO seasoning. It was just tasting like...meat. Nothing else. Rice was extremely dry (and I know how to make Asian rice). Katsu was VERY DRY and the breading fell off. Fried rice it came with was good enough but the veggies were hard and undercooked. Overpriced...and our waiter just forgot about us multiple times. We had to flag them down for the check after waiting for over 20 minutes after our plates were cleared. I will have to wait a bit before coming again. I hope they fix these quality issues. I was excited to try this place after shopping nearby and spent $60+ on lunch by myself, including uni sushi and a salmon teriyaki bento box. Within an hour of eating -- and having eaten nothing else that day -- I developed violent diarrhea and severe stomach pain that lasted for days. I contacted the restaurant multiple times trying to speak to a manager, and kept being told to "call back later." When I finally got through nearly a week later, I was told nothing could be done because I hadn't called sooner (I had), and that the chef claimed their uni is always fresh. I have photos of the sushi, which was visibly slimy -- something that I recently learned is NOT normal for fresh uni, according to food safety standards. The noodles were nice and firm, and the broth was savory and delicious. The roll was similarly excellent! My wife loved her chirashi bowl too. Service here is usually pretty good but I suspect they're experiencing the same sort of staffing issues other restaurants are having these days, there were only 2 servers on last time we went and I got my food about 15 minutes before my wife got hers. The table behind us had a guest leave without eating, his entire table ate and his food never arrived. That being said, this was an outlier experience for us as far as service goes. Easter Sunday shopping in Leesburg and we are done by 5pm so looking for a meal in the Wegman's shopping center since we need to pick up groceries for the week. Sushi tastes fresh with good assortment of tuna, white tuna, sea bass, yellowtail, clam, octopus, shrimp, salmon, etc. the Salmon hibachi is nicely grilled with nice charred skin which is always a bonus. My other son says the Tonkotsu is good...not the best he's had but good. Everybody received miso soup and a house salad with a sesame soy type dressing. As someone following a gluten free diet due to Celiac, I appreciated their gluten free menu and our server, Trisha's suggestions and willingness to make most menu items (separate from the GF menu) I inquired about gluten free with substitutions. Trisha was so wonderful and I appreciated her creativity, understanding, and attentiveness so much. Noku is a newer sushi, hibachi, and ramen place that opened in Leesburg's Village Market plaza. The hubs and I came here, and I was excited to try out their food. I am always on a hunt to find delicious bento boxes, especially if it contains teriyaki, but haven't had much luck in the area. For lunch, we ordered: the Salmon bento box, which came with miso soup, salad, gyoza, spring rolls, potato salad, 3 pieces of California rice, and your choice of white or brown rice (I opted for white), Tonkotsu Ramen (a pork-based bone marrow broth with chashu pork belly, fish cakes, vegetables, and a ajitsuke tamago, two pieces of chutoro nigiri, and Sushi Tots (a daily special; deep-fried sushi rice with a choice of spicy tuna or spicy salmon (we opted for the spicy tuna), with spicy mayo and unagi sauce). That bento box was one of the best I've had in some time! I have a favorite Japanese place that is known for their bentos back in Chicago where I grew up; I wasn't necessarily looking for a replacement, but most of the places that I've been that offered bento boxes/teriyaki never tasted good. However, this place was SO GOOD! The salmon was perfectly cooked - it was fresh, flaky, and the teriyaki sauce wasn't overly sweet but a perfect complement! The maki rolls were fresh with large pieces of filling, especially the avocado! I didn't really care for the fried dumplings and the spring rolls, but the hubs ate them without complaints. The fresh steamed veggies were plentiful, even better dipped in the teriyaki sauce. The hubs enjoyed his tonkotsu ramen - he stated the noodles were perfectly cooked al dente, and the broth was soothing and flavorful. Simple and tasty. The Sushi Tots were more of a novelty item, and while they were fine, we would't order them again. The chutoro was fresh, and the rice was perfectly cooked. I'd love to check out the rest of their sushi menu, especially their house specialty rolls, try out their hibachi, and will definitely return for the bento boxes!
