Was quoted about 3 times book value as the base price for a car, plus high interest rates. This place is clearly predatory.

So much so that I'm willing to drive an hour from Salt Lake just to buy a car from here rather than any other dealerships in Salt Lake City. Both times Jared has made the process of buying a car simple and painless. He gets all of our information ahead of time and we are usually in and out with a new car in an hour or so. I've never experienced that before EVER at another dealership. It's always at least a day long ordeal and so many hoops to jump through to get approved. We always get a great deal and something that works with our budget. Jared even helped us get approved for a car right after a bankruptcy. I would highly recommend Smart Buy Auto to anyone and everyone!! I love my new car!! Check them out, you won't regret it

I gave this dealership multiple chances over a 4 to 5 year period and used them as my exclusive…read moreservice provider, but over time a clear pattern of issues made it difficult to continue trusting their work. On my two most recent oil changes, my check engine light came on within 2 to 3 days afterward for emissions-related issues. The vehicle had never had a check engine light before these visits. Since I stopped taking it here, the issue has not returned, which was a major relief. After a 100,000-mile service that included a valve adjustment, I developed an oil leak from the valve cover area. Prior to that service, the vehicle had never had any oil leaks. It was frustrating to go from a properly sealed engine to dealing with a new leak immediately after a major service. There was also an issue with the serpentine belt. It was replaced during that same 100,000-mile service. Only a few months later, when my wife brought the car in for a routine visit, she was told the belt needed to be replaced again due to age and mileage, and it was replaced a second time. This was especially frustrating because it had already been recently replaced. When I followed up, the duplicate charge was converted into a service credit, but actually using it became an ongoing issue. Each visit brought a different explanation for why it could not be applied. Eventually, I was told the credit was lost due to a system change, which effectively meant I paid for the service twice without resolution. On multiple visits, the engine oil was overfilled even after specifically requesting that it not be. This happened enough times that I started checking it myself before leaving and had to ask them to correct it on the spot. Brake service was another disappointing experience. I was charged $125 for a single rotor (not including labor), which I later found selling for $25 at Walmart. The repair did not resolve the issue I was having. I ended up redoing the work myself and purchased two Brembo rotors for the rear for $120 total, which was less than what I paid here for a single rotor. While correcting it myself, I discovered that basic steps like lubrication and hardware replacement had not been done, which explained why the issue persisted until I fixed it. I was also quoted around $1,500 per axle for shock replacement using aftermarket parts, which felt significantly out of line with typical pricing, especially given the parts used were not OEM. I understand dealership service is typically more expensive, but I still expected accurate recommendations, proper workmanship, and appropriate parts for the cost. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. After multiple attempts to resolve issues directly with the service department, I did not receive meaningful resolution.

This service department has issues. I will not buy a car from Tony Divino Riverdale Ut again for…read morethat reason and I enjoyed the buying process from them! I have had a RAV4 in many times for typical service (the service package plan they sell) and every time have had issues like not identifying burnt out bulbs that I knew were burnt out prior to their "bumper to bumper insp", not rotating the tires, tire pressures way off after "psi/rotation" , long wait time for basic "scheduled" oil changes... Honestly this gives me anxiety just writing this review because of how many different occasions I had issues. After a few yeas of avoiding the service department...last week Friday at 10:40 I called about a battery I purchased from them and that they installed. The battery has bad cells in it (diagnosed from another non T. Divino service center) lucky only 43 months into the 84 month warranty. To figure out the warranty process "Brandy" said she would call back same day for the details/refund info, well NO CALL back Friday or Saturday so I called on Monday. To not be down a car over the weekend I installed a new battery myself and kept the old for warranty process. They wanted me to reinstall the Toyota battery and bring the car to them so they could test it for 1-4 hrs. I understand all of that however I would be stupid to take my RAV4 in there again and expect a positive outcome. - I see the Tony D. Business Owner replying to lots of one star reviews....there is a bigger issue with the service department as a whole. Every place has ups and downs... I waited a few years to try them again and they failed to call me back! This is step one of customer service. Long review but hopefully it saves you the pain and aggravation in the long run.
