[UPDATE]: I am updating this review to highlight the Customer Relations Manager, Dennis King. After my initial frustrating experience with a snapped tensioner bolt on my 4Runner, Dennis reached out directly to help make things right. He was professional, listened to my concerns, and worked with me to provide a fair resolution so I could get the required replacement parts. While the initial service issue was disappointing, I really appreciate Dennis stepping up, taking accountability, and providing excellent customer service on the back end to resolve the situation. ---original --- I brought my 1999 4Runner to Tony Divino Toyota in Riverdale for a complete top-end engine rebuild in March 2024. I specifically chose a certified Toyota dealership and paid roughly $3,400 because I wanted the peace of mind that comes with OEM parts and factory-trained technicians. Fast forward to August 2026. Only 13,000 miles after their rebuild, my vehicle completely lost power while driving down the road. I pulled the timing cover to find that the "OEM" timing belt they installed had completely shredded. An OEM Toyota timing belt is engineered to last 90,000 miles. A catastrophic failure at a mere 13,000 miles points directly to a defective component being used or incredibly poor workmanship during installation. When I called the service department to discuss this extreme premature failure, they immediately hid behind their standard 12-month warranty policy and were incredibly rude on the phone. They refused to stand behind the Toyota name, their labor, or the parts they installed. I am now forced to tear down the front of the engine myself to uncover exactly what went wrong. If you are looking for a dealership that stands behind its work, installs reliable parts, and treats loyal customers with respect, look elsewhere. In 2021, my wife and I bought our 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road along with the Platinum Tire & Wheel Protection Plan with keys for peace of mind. Fast-forward to October 2025, I got a tire pressure warning light, checked my tires, and found one still losing air after refilling to the recommended PSI. I called Tony Divino Toyota to schedule service and asked if the Platinum Tire & Wheel plan covered it--but was transferred multiple times between Service, Operator, and Warranty, even getting hung up on a few times. After several calls, I finally reached someone who understood the program and helped set up my appointment. At first, the visit went okay. Christian, the service specialist, helped me get the tire covered under the plan and order a new key I had lost. Since all my tires were low on tread, I replaced the full set and also had an oil change done. Normally I do my own oil changes, but due to personal circumstances, I couldn't this time. When I asked about torqueing the lug nuts to spec, Christian brushed it off with, "yeah, yeah, they hand-tight it." That didn't sit well with me--I take pride in keeping my vehicle in top condition, and I expect the same care from a Toyota service department. Communication afterward was poor. When I called to ask about pickup time, I kept getting transferred and the only answer I got was "We don't know." The next day I got a text saying my car was ready, and I appreciated the Uber ride they arranged for pickup. When I arrived, Stephanie was hesitant to print an invoice breakdown until another employee told her she could. After paying, I asked to have the service recorded in my Toyota account--like my previous dealership always did automatically--but it never showed up online. I also requested email copies of the invoices for my tire warranty and oil change, but weeks later, I still haven't received them. Overall, the customer service and communication were disappointing. The tone shifted once payment was made, and I found my experience matched many of the negative reviews I later read online. I really hope management invests in better communication, service training, and understanding of their own warranty programs. On a positive note, Mike, the tire specialist, deserves recognition. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful when I was choosing new tires. He recommended Yokohama, but after research, I went with Toyo. Second instance getting an oil change and they failed to put the bolts back to secure my skid plate. If they can't even secure a skid plate it very much makes me question what else they are failing to do correctly. Now driving around with a loose skid plate and when I call service to address this issue no managers are there. read more

Poor customer service. I have been a long time customer.. I thought I needed an emissions for my new car which come to find out I didn't but they wouldn't even double check to see if I needed one. When I asked if they could check my emissions and they said it would tack on 2 1/2 hours more to my new car. I asked the lady checking me in multiple times to please ask about the additional time and she flat out would not help answer my simple question and just told me to reschedule for another day. read more

This service department has issues. I will not buy a car from Tony Divino Riverdale Ut again for that reason and I enjoyed the buying process from them! I have had a RAV4 in many times for typical service (the service package plan they sell) and every time have had issues like not identifying burnt out bulbs that I knew were burnt out prior to their "bumper to bumper insp", not rotating the tires, tire pressures way off after "psi/rotation" , long wait time for basic "scheduled" oil changes... Honestly this gives me anxiety just writing this review because of how many different occasions I had issues. After a few yeas of avoiding the service department...last week Friday at 10:40 I called about a battery I purchased from them and that they installed. The battery has bad cells in it (diagnosed from another non T. Divino service center) lucky only 43 months into the 84 month warranty. To figure out the warranty process "Brandy" said she would call back same day for the details/refund info, well NO CALL back Friday or Saturday so I called on Monday. To not be down a car over the weekend I installed a new battery myself and kept the old for warranty process. They wanted me to reinstall the Toyota battery and bring the car to them so they could test it for 1-4 hrs. I understand all of that however I would be stupid to take my RAV4 in there again and expect a positive outcome. - I see the Tony D. Business Owner replying to lots of one star reviews....there is a bigger issue with the service department as a whole. Every place has ups and downs... I waited a few years to try them again and they failed to call me back! This is step one of customer service. Bought a brand new 2025 Tacoma TRD Pro and put new slightly larger tires on it at 400 miles. Wanted to ensure these expensive tires would last I had the alignment checked. Tony Divino service said the alignment was way off but were able to correct. Thought that was strange but ok. 2000 miles later, I'm noticing uneven wear and cupping on my tires. After checking torque rating on the CAM bolts I noticed they were 108ft-lbs instead of the 208 as spec. I then scheduled another alignment. A one hour scheduled alignment lasted 4 hours! After 2 hours I asked what the status was and they said "almost done." After 3 hours I asked for a status update and got some story about brakes but when I said I was here only for an alignment they changed to story to they had to weld something. When I asked what they were welding on a BRAND NEW truck no one could explain. Claimed my alignment was way off. Which was their fault in the first place. Now the alignment is still off. read more

Im a mechanic but the car my wife drives is new so we take it in for the service intervals and fluid changes and such... I know it has a bad CV axle (when turning a hard left the axle clicks and makes noise, only when turning a hard left) and i asked if they would check that out. They wanted to charge me $180 to diagnose it. This is so ridiculous... They want to charge $180 for someone to sit in the diver seat and make a hard left to tell me its a bad CV axle? When did dealerships become such a rip off...!!! Auto dealerships are blood suckers so they can have all this fancy crap for themselves that they dont need, all paid for by the consumer whos already struggling in this economy, and what does the dealer give back to the consumers who pay for their lavish lifestyle... Had my 2016 4 runner towed Thursday July 3rd because my car wouldn't start with spare key. We couldn't find fob key at the time. No one called us and by Monday at 9 am I called. The service advisor didn't ask us to bring the fob key down. I called again at 3:15 and left a message for status of my 4 runner. 45 mins later I arrived at the dealership with my wife asking Jorge what's going on. I asked if he received my message. He said he was on a test drive. We gave him our fob key and he tested it and the car started. He said with a spare key without chip car security system blocked the ignition system. Why didn't he call us 6 hours ago and tell us to bring the fob key down. We have been waiting all day. read more

If Stephanie is your service tech run. Do not walk away run away. She does not schedule appointments like she says she will. She does not give you updates on your vehicle leaving you stranded for days if not a whole week. Absolutely appalling customer service. You are better off going to any where else. They accuse you of doing things you would Absolutely not do to you vehicle and then back peddle when you prove them wrong. They also charge ridiculous amounts in labor. They hide part of the cost under parts, but they lie. A $2k difference in a fix between two different dealerships is absolute crap. And they are the ones who charge more. Bought the new Land Cruiser 2025 in April. Service was awful. Drove 90 miles to dealership. Had appointment for 10,000 mile oil change and tire rotation (so did 20 other people) and waited in car line for 20 minutes. before it could even enter the service center- only to be told by the service advisor Lance that they could only do the oil change and tire rotation, and not address any other concerns I had about how the vehicle was running unless I made another appointment ... Took two hours and saw my car sitting in the parking lot before they notified me that it was done. They did not wash the car and gave me a ticket to go through an automated car wash on my own. Service manager was not available so I left her a voicemail. Never going back they just lost a future car sale and lost my future service business ... read more

First time buying a brand new care from this dealership and the service dept has been the worst experience. 1st vehicle service at 5k miles (told 45mins and it was close to a 2 hour wait) and the tech didn't fasten the rear tire lugs which led to bad vibrations and almost losing a wheel on the drive home. 2nd service for 10k and I get the vehicle home only to note all 4 wheels have scratches on the paint. Multiple calls to speak to a manager and each time I'm told they've gone home early and promised a return call and still no response a week later. Last month, we took my husband's 2014 Toyota Tundra into Tony Divino for an oil change and tire rotation (part of the prepaid package we purchased). About a week later his truck started shaking like crazy while driving over 45 mph. We took it back to the dealership they suggested a tire balance, alignment, and about $1800 worth in services to stop the shaking. They also suggested a tire rotation to which we reminded them it had been done the week before, and they let us know that they forgot, even though it was part of the package we purchased, but would do it with the tire balancing. Almost 2k later my husband gets his truck back, its still shaking a little, he figured it would go away with time and a new clicking sound appeared, again figured it would go away with time. I should also mention that we were promised our vehicle would be ready by a certain time, however when we went to pick it up, it was still not ready, up on the lift and tires off. We had to return after hours to get the truck and were unable to speak with anyone in service about our truck to have them answer questions. Within the week, the truck started shaking like crazy, however, because it was the weekend (Sunday) the service dept was closed along with a lot of other shops. We ended up taking our truck to the tire center at Costco. They informed us that no new tire weights for balancing had been put on, per our request, the tires had not been balanced properly, so much so that they were off by state regulation standards. As Costco put it, you'd have to hit every pot hole in Utah to mess up the balancing that badly. The other issue was that the front passenger side wheel lug nuts were only on finger tight, Costco was suprised we made it in safely. Oh and the clicking we heard, was a tire pressure sensor found shattered and left inside the tire. We paid to have the balancing done at costco, had them prepare the paperwork with their information they found. The following day we took the information down to the Toyota dealership and we were told we'd hear from management in a couple of days. This last couple weeks we have been dealing with management giving us the run around and gaslighting us. When they originally came to us they informed us that there was no record of a tire balance or rotation being done, even though this was what we came in for. Of course, the almost 2k worth of additional services they suggested were done. They then told my husband they never touched his wheels on his truck, but we received an email saying they owed us an apology for not tightening the lug nuts, plus the evidence at from costco says otherwise. We asked to see video of the truck having work done, they wouldnt send it to us, but want us to take time out of our schedule to go to the dealership and watch it there. They refuse to take any responsibility for putting us in an unsafe situation. We have requested a refund on our tire rotations, they have refused, but have mailed us service vouchers, worth 400, to only be used at their dealership. We will not be returning to the dealership as they do shoddy work and are not trustworthy, so the vouchers are useless. Also when speaking with Dennis King(customer service rep), he asked us if we complained to multiple people at the dealership, because the service department and management was spreading rumors and had "formed their own opinions on the matter." When I brought this up to Dennis, he said, "oh, that was about another customer." Not only did he discuss with my husband that the service department was bashing on him, but he admitted to me that they were bashing on another customer. Tony Divino should be embarrassed by their shoddy work and poor customer service. At the very least, we should be reimbursed for the services not completed and the service done at costco. They have refused and sent us vouchers we told them not send as we will not use them. We will not be selling the vouchers or giving them away either, why would we want someone else to be taken advantage of or to have their vehicle made more un safe. read more

Only purchase a Toyota vehicle. IF ANY!!! Purchased our Audi from here in Feb.2025 and got the oil serviced in Oct.2025 After we picked up the vehicle we noticed it driving wrong took it back within 20 minutes, was advised by Jorge the supervisor. He would normally turn down any vehicle that is not Toyota, (in fact he turned down a Ford that day! He was excited to share?) he also advised himself has a Honda and only goes to the Honda dealership.....this is the 3rd car we have purchased from a car dealership. The first two times were YOUNG; and THEY ARE AMAZING. They will happily sell and service ANY vehicle with no problem. (Especially the one THEY SELL YOU) In fact they won't make you feel any less important. I just wished Jorge was there to turn us down like his other customers :( or wish we went to YOUNG AUDI which ended up servicing and repairing everything! Toyota managed to put the wrong size battery in the vehicle!) Don't take your car here, even under warranty, if you can help it. (Sure wish I"d read the reviews before I opted to head here for my 10k service while on vacation. Would have saved me a day and a lot of frustration. Don't make this mistake. Avoid this shop AT ALL COSTS!) 1- When mechanics break something, they should 'fess up immediately rather than leave it for customer to discover. Read on for details. 2 - I went in for the 10,000-mile service on my car, covered for 25,000 miles of service by dealer. Alas, they charged for the air and cabin air cleaners (service items apparently not covered), so there was $98 blown since I could perform those myself for far less. 3- Arrived on time for my 11:30 a.m. appointment for 10k service which is change oil and rotate tires (plus inspection). Jiffy Lube can do that in 15 minutes, 30 minutes if they eat a snack. It took this shop nearly two hours. 4 - Frustrated mechanic broke hubcap, but only 'fessed up after I called the shop on their shenanigans. Ridiculous. Only after I demanded a replacement of the broken part did they agree to provide it, but told me I'd have to drive BACK to shop 100 miles r/t to pick it up. Ultimately, they delivered. Terrible service all around. Super disappointing. Won't return. Ever. Don't recommend. read more

This place is a joke #1 I had two keys that needed to be cut I went in and they said the machine was down and I would have to come back later I came back a week after once again they had said the machine was down I waited 2 more additional weeks just to be sure and what do you know the machine was down again so I took the drive to a different Toyota dealer and got them cut. #2 I had called them and told them the part I needed for my car and it was just two little bolts and 2 square nuts for the air box the dude said they had them and when I drove over to grab them another dude said they didn't have them and proceeded to argue with me about them being part of the box which I have the car and took the air box off multiple times to change the air filter they need to higher more professional people the guys in the parts department are arrogant and no matter what will argue with you because they work their and instead of helping and just handing you the part they wanna be lazy and just go home will spend 20 bucks on fuel to go to another Toyota dealership these guy are lazy and should stay off drug plain and simple read more

What a joke, I brought my sienna in for a diagnosing on an issue that it's having. They updated the software for $200 and said they fixed it. The issue never stopped and they asked to text them videos of the issue. Said the shop foreman would get back to me on Thursday. 08/22/2024 Took my 2022 Toyota HIGHLANDER with 24k miles in for a recall, oil change, and tire rotation. Worst experience ever!!! I bought my car from Tony Divino brand new off the lot. My car has been serviced there 3 times for the past two years. This is a well known and big company so I entrusted them to take care of my car. I dropped the car off at 10am then received a text from Christian with a preferred call number at the time of drop off. At 1:21pm got a text that the car is ready for pick up and if needed a ride to text address. I responded with my address but received no confirmation. After 35 mins of waiting decided to call the preferred number and went straight to voicemail. Finally got a Uber to come out to pick up my husband after calling tony Divino's Main line to request a ride. When my husband got there he saw a group of people chatting but nobody came to help him. After seeking for help, he ask for Christian but the person helping him said he wasn't even there today. The whole time we thought it was Christian who was our service advisor but it was actually Chris. After my husband bought the package deal he went to the car to check the oil. He notices the oil is darker than it should have been for new oil. He went back and asked about the discoloration of the oil. Chris sent my husband to the assistant manager kaylee rish and she called Anthony Lopez (Express supervisor) to discuss about the oil. Anthony went with my husband to the car to check on the oil. He said that it looks new and it's new oil. He also mentioned that the people who worked on the car was not his and walked my husband back to Chris. Chris took my husband to go talk to a tech in the back. The tech told my husband that they drain the old oil completely before adding the new one. My husband still said the oil looks dark the tech said there's nothing they can do about it and to talk to Chris. He spoke to Chris about getting another oil change. Once approved by kaylee they took the car to the back. Before draining the oil Anthony took my husband to the back to show him the color of the new oil that he pour into a clear water bottle. Anthony asked if my husband still wants to drain the oil and he said yes. So before draining the oil he made a comment to my husband saying "what if the oil coming out is the same color as the new oil what will he do" my husband responded if it is then it is what it is. All he wanted is for them to do another oil change because it's dark. Anthony drained the oil, collected some, and poured it out immediately because it was dark. The oil looks as if it was driven for a couple thousand of miles already. He then apologized to my husband, told them to drain the oil fully, and fill it with new oil. After the second oil change was completed, Anthony asked if he has driven the car anywhere and showed my husband the new oil by using the oil dip stick. My husband responded that he as not driven the car since the oil change. It was still parked where they left it. The oil was clear and transparent comparing to the first oil change. He apologized again and gave my husband two free car wash and a free oil change for our next service. I am so disappointed and angry. Your customer is voicing their concerns and you try to shut them down. Shame on you Tony Divino repair services. The trust we had in this company is now forever broken. tony divino service center ZERO STARS Horrible worst experience ever. When we decide to buy another Toyota we will definitely go elsewhere. Drove the car up to Service Center. While waiting in the car, something from their ceiling fell onto the hood of the car. Made a mark, the guy there spit on it then rubbed it with his hands and gave a free car wash ticket. Also complained and yelled "Look at all this work!" They took the car in for an oil change and filter change, an hour and a half later the inside of the car came back with foot marks, and had oil dripping on the side of the door. They did not put any seat protection or floor protection when I saw other cars had protection. Spent over $90 with a scrap on the hood of my car, oil dripping on the side of the door, and foot prints all over. Also never spent that much on an oil change in my life. Its a toyota not a Mercedes or something. I have been to a lot of Toyota Service center and was never treated this way. Will be my first and last time there. read more

We are from Denver Colorado and my sister found a 4 runner on line. She was in contact with Isaac Bystrom. He was great. He went above and beyond to help her purchase her now 4runner. He answered all her questions and sent her photos of the vehicle she asked for. Never have I heard of worst service. My mom took her car in at 8:20am and requested a ride home. She waited for an hour and a half and heard nothing. Come to find out the woman who was suppose to request it NEVER DID. Then it gets better. Maintenance NEVER was told that her car was in until 1 or 2 in the afternoon so now they have to keep it overnight until the next day around noon so she has to be without a car for the rest of the day and half the day the next day when the service should have only taken half the day to begin with. I am livid to hear she had to experience this and I can guarantee you that I will let everyone I know how awful of customer service you have. read more
