Pretty cool local dive bar. Nothing extraordinary but we weren't expecting that coming in. We were looking for a solid place right off the highway on our way up to Greenville area where we could stop and get a beer and a solid meal and that is exactly what we found All of the staff was nice and inviting and treated us as regulars. I enjoyed the Philly cheese steak sandwich and my wife got the Reuben. Both 8 out of 10 or 4 out of 5. (Typically meat & 3 but they have seafood as a special too) They let you adjust the preparation as well...with no hesitation! This is where LOCALS go on a regular basis! We were passing through on our way from Asheville to Charleston, and stopped for a bite. Lucky's is a gem! It doesn't look like much from the outside (or the inside, for that matter). I got a lucky burger with onion straws, hubs got a black and blue with fries. Food came super quick, tasted great, everything was hot and fresh. My husband loved the hand cut fries and the fact that they had malt vinegar. 3 different people came by and asked us how everything was, these guys are so on top of it! LOVE Lucky's Burger Shack! This is where you go to get what may possibly be the best burgers in or around Columbia. Many people claim it, but Lucky's really backs it up. I've been there at least a dozen times and have never had a bad meal. If you come after 10pm any night, it is definitely more of a bar, because the kitchen closes. Only at 10 do they allow smoking inside, etc. Beer selection is OK. They only have 3 or 4 cheap beers on tap, but they have a decent bottle selection. The food is always hot and fresh, burgers juicy, and the hand-cut fries are awesome! OH and they have a great DOG FRIENDLY patio! read more

Excellent dive! Bartender/waiter was awesome. I got a burger and homemade chips - my 11 year old got a chili dog and fries. Burger was very good. Very thin patties with a crusty edge.. I like that. Chips were very good - wish they were a tad bit warmer. My son devoured his dog... pretty good size too. They forgot to bring out the fries until very late and upon delivery, the guy said "I'm not charging you for those." That's customer service. read more

I honestly can say, it's doubtful I would have discovered this place without groupon. Because of the groupon deal I got for Lucky's I found/made the opprtunity to venture out and try them. Turns out, the food is pretty darn good. With or without the deal! :) There was a lot, especially their sides, that I wanted to try and didn't get too. So for my first visit, and to take in as much as possible, I started with some Sweet Potato fries, then ordered different sides with my burger. I opted for the Lucky's Burger with corn nuggets. So, the only bad I got from this visit was from a semi confusing menu, and me not paying attention or being a bit more specific. And this was: When you look at the menu one side seems to be their mostly regular burgers and they come "Lucky's way" while another section seems to be specialty burgers and doesn't mention anyone's way... but secretly... they come out Lucky's way as well. Which I don't like mustard/mayo (weird I know) but it was partly everyone's fault... I'll take most the blame for not asking though. Anyway, so after the confusion was fixed up, I got to munching and the burger was quite tasty. Cooked to order, bacon was nice and thick, and they really piled on the onion strings! The corn nuggets with it were very tasty and delicious, and the early order sweet potato fries were very good too. Little crispy, but still fine, and sweet which is awesome. All in all it was all positive for me. Food was good, service was good, and everything went great. Lucky's is a location I'd quickly and happily be going back to as quickly as possible. So hopefully I find an excuse to be back up in Columbia for it and try it out again. If you get the chance, check it out, and enjoy! read more

Starting to think they treat people disrespectful on purpose. First let's start off with the extra credit card charge. Absolutely disgusting. Second let's talk about the wings. $17 for 12 wings that are hard? Literally choked trying to swallow my food. When I asked why the price on the menu was different she said "wings are expensive" ... excuse me? I only go here because my husband likes it but after this week I am done! If you're going to price gouge at least make sure the quality is subpar! Oh and please as a white woman i am disgusted with the way some people act in here. Why are you calling people names because of how they look? Literally the customers were making fun of unfamiliar faces and the servers giggled with them. Had the lucky burger which was a tad thin and over cooked, I like my burgers very thick and rare to medium rare and juicy. This was not what I expected at all my expectations were I guess too high after all these great reviews. Did like the atmosphere and prices. Next time I'll give the wings a try with ice cold cheap beers ! read more

Glad we yelped while driving down the highway. This is an excellent burger stop. I barely eat burgers, but when I do I want it to be just right. It was fast for a sit down restaurant, we were in and out in 30 minutes. The burger was perfect in my opinion, cooked through but still juicy. They also have tots, as well as many other sides. read more

Update: My wife loved the grilled potato salad so we drive all the way over here. Once again the grilled potato was awesome. The lucky burger I had was outstanding. I see grilled pound cake. I figured what the hell we will try it. OMG Wow! It was amazing. The staff once again were very friendly as always Old: My wife and I have never been here at Luckys so we thought we would stop and just check it out. The wait staff was very friendly and very attentive. The food was awesome. The homemade chips were cooked perfect nice light golden brown crispy chips. You MUST try the warm potato salad. The waitress recommend it and she was not wrong. I wish they had craft beers on draft but hey thats minor. The Lucky Hamburger was cooked perfectly. We will be back. read more

We have passed by Lucky's Burger Shack more than a few times and finally decided to try it out! Needless to say, we will be visiting more often after the delicious food we tried on our visit. We tackled the Lucky Burger and the Patty Melt and they left nothing to be desired. The service was just a good as the food and we did not have to wait very long! Wonderful dining experience while visiting my sister. Has a biker bar/tavern feel but kids are very welcome. They even have small handheld video games for the kids and a pool table and foosball table at no cost. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. My niece and I ordered the jalapeño jack cheeseburger with bacon, side of homemade chips and the homemade ranch. I ate every bite. My daughter and nephew ordered the jr chicken fingers that came with honey mustard. My nephew had buffalo sauce on side and said it was little spicy just way he liked it. My sister got jr burger and fries. They sell bottled beer no draft options. They have a small outside area that would be perfect for cooler days. Great spot for lunch today! read more

Great food. Great service. Friendly staff. Parking is somewhat tricky. But overall the food makes up for it. I enjoy this place mostly at lunch but hear this place has a great late night crowd with live music. I highly recommend the chicken philly roll. Go check them out and make some friends. It's a dive with great food. Very casual and yet super staff. They are pros at getting it done. The food is well cooked. The Friday fried oysters are the best I've had in any restaurant. My husband gets the seafood platter. We started going over and over because of the club sandwich and onion strings. Those onion strings have got it going on.
