I still think about this place on the REGULAR. We stumbled across it while traveling, and I'm genuinely upset that I live halfway across the country because I would become an embarrassingly frequent customer. One thing I've noticed is that coffee shops usually excel at one thing--they either have amazing coffee and mediocre food, or great food and forgettable coffee. This place somehow nails both. We ordered an incredible sandwich, a super unique breakfast burrito, and a biscuit with maple butter that I still dream about. For coffee, we had a light roast pour-over and a flat white, and both were absolutely phenomenal. Despite being packed on a gorgeous fall day, the service was surprisingly fast and everyone was so friendly. And the atmosphere? Unreal. Sitting there, looking out the open garage door at the colorful fall trees in the middle of a charming small town... this Florida girl absolutely lost her mind. One of my favorite places to eat at in Lebanon. There's a rotating selection of pastries and generally they'll have a seasonal dish to mix up their usual menu. It can be busy on weekends, but worth the wait. The staff is friendly and they're usually quick to get food and drinks out. When it's warm out they have some outdoor tables; otherwise it can be limited in seating during peak times. The Hizzy is my go to, but the Jive Turkey, Salmon bagel, and Rizzo are equally as tasty. At other times they've had ramen, banana pancakes, mashed potato poutine, and on and on. Big fan, highly recommend. I love getting a stock of pastries just to munch on during my week. read more

I met a couple of friends at Lucky's Coffee Garage at noon on a Saturday, and as expected, the place was absolutely buzzing. There aren't nearly enough tables and chairs for all the people who want to linger over their expertly made coffee and delicious pastries, but somehow that just adds to the charm. The café is a literal converted garage right on the edge of the Lebanon green, and it felt especially warm and cozy on a very cold day. The staff is friendly, helpful, and impressively patient with long lines and lots of questions. I had a perfectly brewed decaf Americano and an orange cardamom kouign-amann that was to die for. Parking was easy, which is always a plus, and the menu includes breakfast and lunch options with choices for both vegetarians and vegans. Lucky's Coffee Garage absolutely slays. The sandwiches? insane. The coffee? also insane. My wife and I both agreed--this is easily top 5 coffee shop material. It's rare to find a spot that nails both the food and the drinks, but they did it. I got a cortado with maple syrup (certified banger), and my wife's pumpkin spice latte was shockingly balanced--not too sweet, just cozy and tastes great. Espresso is definitely a good quality and they make drinks that don't taste like coffee water. She's also now fully obsessed with the apple butter maple butter biscuit, like new personality unlocked and our bank account is also more unlocked, but like that's okay bc she's happy. read more

Lucky's Coffee Garage is a fun and whimsical auto garage-turned coffee house with a high-end offering. If you are an urbanite traveler who is not here for the sparse mountain-culture-influenced-yet-more-suburbanized Lebanon experience, Lucky's Coffee Garage is the place for you. This breakfast cafe is truly an upscale and gourmet Lebanon, NH adventure. And maybe one of the only ones here. The only other cafe I can think of for miles around - to get a fancy, urban breakfast like this in the area - is at Taste, but the offerings at Lucky's are notably more indulgent and inventive. The creative menu rotates seasonally and this does not include the fabulousness of the pastry selection. These are made fresh on location, daily and range from scones, bars, biscuits, cookies, muffins, etc. I have seen a broad cultural span of trendy and gourmet ingredients added to breakfast sandwiches and lunches here which are surprising and lovely, ie a good ole' reliable meat, egg and cheese variations but with a refined international sauce and/or tasty twist added. The daily specials here are truly inventive and crafted with passion. On the day we visited there were enchiladas verde with pickled red onions, harissa spiced cream cheese, vegan puree-made pumpkin pancakes, pears poached with mulled red wine, prosciutto and ricotta and Schmögasstartta: house cream cheese, shrimp, hardboiled egg, cucumber and thinly-sliced radishes on pumpernickel. The Drink Specials on this day were: Rosemary maple, pumpkin spice and lemonade. As for their coffee, the flavor of the house roast espresso I always get is not my favorite. The espresso coffee bean roast has a taste I am not used to, like a tinge. Because I am likely not in the norm with my gastronomic opinion here, I am going to share what Lucky's says about it on their website: "We are a multi-roaster ... that offers espresso, drip, nitro, cold brew on tap and whole roasted beans." They serve Illuminar coffee, roasted in Middlebury, Vermont. The Illuminar website says they, "push the boundaries of flavor." I would have to agree. LOL. It seems a very high-end roasting company with all of the things that I want to see and tour and learn about but not the default house roast. I still order Lucky's drinks but haven't enjoyed enough of the variety of roasts to know which other Illuminar roasts I like better. There is a thing with the red fox here. Definitely look up mythical associations with the lore of the red fox, but I usually think of Fantastic Mr Fox when I see the vivid murals and artwork and it makes me happy and more curious. As with most places in this town, folks pretty much keep to themselves here and inside the cafe especially. I've seen much more social behavior when the weather is pleasant on the picnic tables outside. Of course I'm speaking for the later-in-the-day crowd which around here means after 11 but before they close at 2pm. This is the only place that i know of - other than Starbucks in West Lebanon - where you can actually sit and linger over your drink or use your laptop or read a book. Coming from more densely populated urban or suburban areas, I have come to realize people around here just don't chill with a coffee and online work to do as much otherwise. Unless you are lingering solo at a bar with your drink. Also, another reviewer commented that the morning crowd - who I will likely never see the likes of - are more chatty, indoors. :) I love how festive and colorful it is here. The interior design here is bright and uplifting, yet does not take itself too seriously. If you are staring at an old garage and transform it into this gourmet wonderland -- I have no understanding of the iterations of the architectural history here -- yet still leave nods like old license tags, you definitely have an optimistic heart for hope and innovation along with the drive to see an award-winning community-and-beyond transformation through. In short, I've seen a few places people come from all around long drives for in this area, and Lucky's is one not to miss. Also, if you are in town at dark, when they are no longer open, enjoy the gorgeous rainbow of festive lights which grace the building. read more

Great service, interesting drink options, okay food options. The folks working there were very kind and helpful! Not much indoor seating, but lots of outdoor seating. We got the hot PSL (seasonal drink) and ice MAC Mocha. The PSL had strong notes of ginger and cardamom - yummy, but tasted a bit like rooibos chai tea. The mocha was fantastic and rich. The sandwich was okay, and I did not enjoy the bagel. Lucky's is in a former service station (there if a Gulf sign on one wall inside). The decor inside is cute and funky - foxes tucked here and there, license plates covering the bottom of the order stand, cozy seating areas. When we arrived at around 9am on a weekday, the line was to the door. Fortunately, menus are available long before ordering, so we did not have to wait long to place our order. Our group ordered a strawberry rhubarb bar, pumpkin muffin, avocado toast, and a bagel with cream cheese. We also ordered dark roast black coffee, hot peppermint tea, and a oat milk lavender latte. We were given the baked goods when we ordered, and the rest came out within a few minutes. The strawberry rhubarb bar was delicious, albeit on the sweet side. The pumpkin muffin was moist and had just the right amount of spice. My friends said their avocado toast and everything bagel with cream cheese were good too. This is a coffee shop, and the coffee was great. My lavender latte had just the right amount of flavor and wasn't too sweet. My partner enjoyed his not bitter dark roast, and our friend liked her tea. We felt prices were reasonable for what we received and will be back. read more

We stopped by for a quick take out breakfast, that might still take you about 15 mins with the line. They're very efficient and make everything to order, so your food is fresh. I like how simple the menu is! I would've gotten a lavender or matcha latte, but a 7 hours on a train makes you want to use the bathroom as little as possible. So I ended up getting a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on the spinach feta biscuit. and WOW the biscuit really adds the perfect touch! It was a bit salty, but nothing to complain about. They are so friendly and welcoming too. Also, they work very efficiently. It does not appear chaotic or stressful to the employees and that says a lot, because working in a coffee shop is not that simple. There's periods of time where a lot going on at once, but they do it with ease. They have some interesting and fun decor too. The location is perfectly right on the Lebanon green, everyone's friendly, and most importantly, there is always a line (meaning it's good food). Every time we go, we get the Pesto BLT. I literally crave that sandwich. We recently went and realized that there was no line, which we were super excited about. After getting in, we took a look at the menu and saw that they had changed the whole menu. There was no longer their best seller, the Pesto BLT. Instead, there was a blt with a teriyaki wasabi mayo, and coleslaw. It was good, but just not the same and I wouldn't get it again. All i ask is that they bring back the Pesto BLT. read more

We were so LUCKY to find this place!! A hidden gem right downtown, it's amazing what they've done with an old 3 bay garage, and yummy-liscious what comes out of the back. Hubby is a coffee snob and really enjoyed their dark roast. The Sammie on a bagel hit the spot for him (thin chicken slice, pesto, mozz on a bagel)-say less . Been to Lucky's a couple time for breakfast, every time the food has been excellent and the service very friendly. Usually there is a line which is always a good sign. I love the ambiance of this renovated Gulf service station. The Ford tailgate bench is a nice touch. It was crowded since there was an event in the park, so we ate at the outdoor picnic benches. We enjoyed the Guatemalan coffee, iced teas, and chai. The sweet potato hummus wrap, unique sandwiches, and soup were delicious. We couldn't wait to eat the mouth-watering muffins and cookies. I'm trying this again as the owner had my first review removed. How is it possible for an owner to have a review deleted just because it's unfavorable? Honestly it speaks to my issue with this establishment, but I will refrain from elaborating. First off, I should mention that the following review is unbiased, not resulting from a conflict of interest, does not contain promotional content, but is absolutely relevant. There, the guidelines have been followed and the screenshots have been taken, so this review will hopefully remain... Let's start with the coffee. The drip coffee is undrinkable. I have spoken with many friends who all agree there is a burnt acidity to the drip coffee that could possibly speak to a cleanliness issue, but can't say for sure, it's just not good. I would be fine sticking with the espresso drinks but would rather not take out a second mortgage on my house. I recently had a lime corn cookie that tasted like death and had the texture of a sand castle. The ambiance is extremely pretentious and I did not feel welcome, though it could be due to the fact that I identify as a member of a minority here in the upper valley and the diversity and inclusivity in this establishment leaves a lot to be desired. On a positive side, I have been to Lucky's many times and very much enjoy the biscuits. Though at the current price, I would expect much more. I will not be returning as I have children to feed and provide shelter for and cannot justify the price for such mediocrity (at best), not to mention the exclusivity at Lucky's feels very much like a high school clique that I'm obviously not welcome to join. These are simply my opinions. It is likely that many of you out there disagree. If so, you probably have a higher budget to spend on frivolity than I, have never been to a city, or fit the niche customer that Lucky's caters to. read more
