Little old convenience store turned into a gem of a deli in western New Hampshire! These folks know how to prepare smoked meats and killer sandwiches. Super busy place for breakfast and lunch, but each time I've been there, the staff is always in a good mood and super helpful with decisions (which is needed sometimes because everything sounds good). I had the 50/50 sandwich last time I was there. Pastrami, turkey, Cole slaw, ground mustard on toasted bread. Sounds normal, right? Marsh Brothers put this sandwich into a whole other conversation of good. Best breakfast sandwiches in Leb/Hanover area by far, reminds me almost of New York delis growing up. We have tried everywhere in Hanover and leb over the last 5 years and nothing comes close. Whenever I go to the Marsh Brothers I know I'm about to get an amazing meal, especially when the smoker is running and the meaty aroma fills the air. I typically get the Sausage egg and cheese on a Portuguese muffin. The sausage is so smokey and the cheddar has a great taste. They are very quick to serve you your food, allowing me to be in and out in under 10 minutes. The Little Store at the Marsh Brothers Deli is an historic and legendary landmark known for 5 things: egg breakfast sandwiches on Portuguese muffins or wraps, rockin' sammies with home-smoked meats, fresh daily donuts, homemade soups and local beer drops. Look at all of the Reader's Choice awards on the window outside. There's no coincidence why. Delicious flavors for breakfast and lunch. Check their Facebook page for daily photos of donuts and features. Donuts are commonly cinnamon, fritters, maple and lemon zeppoles. Their most popular sandwiches are the pressed Cubano with pickles and mustard and the Roast Beef sandwich with an onion roll. The Cubano sandwich is hefty and satisfying, cleanly presented. The Roast Beef sandwich is better. It's got a real pleasing marinated flavor, it's a stack of soft, thinly sliced roast beef and the onion roll-- where else are you going to find any sandwich like that in the area?! Speaking of another fabulous find: there is a smoked chicken meat salad sub. This is the best chicken sandwich sub I've ever tasted. There is a simple and plain version. They also feature the smoked chicken salad in daily specials sometimes with added ingredients. Also for the egg breakfast sandwiches: I haven't found Portuguese muffins anywhere outside of the Vineyard or Manhattan. Maybe in the whole Bostonian area these muffins are more common but I haven't found them anywhere in grocery stores in the Upper Valley. There are also local maple syrups, honey and chips available. You can walk right in and go to the back refrigerators for local beer and find recent beer drops. Also there are local maple products available. Their meat smoker is built special-ordered by their cousin and is quite a beast! My advice: don't come to the Little Store at Marsh Brothers Deli. I go here every time I'm in town so I can sample each of their specials (some of which are pictured below) - I've enjoyed all of them !!
