After we walked in, it took about five minutes before our server acknowledged us. She brought two glasses of water for the adults but said she didn't have small cups for the kids, so our two children had to share one plastic cup. A little later, we saw her carrying two small plastic cups to another table, which was confusing. The kids' menu also listed milk as a drink option, but when we asked for milk, she told us they don't carry it. The lobster cakes were okay, but my husband's pork chop was overcooked, my salad tasted moldy, and the kids' pizza was terrible. The biggest issue was that our server never came back to check on us after our food was served. Because of that, I didn't have the opportunity to let her know about my salad or ask for a replacement while we were eating. When I asked about a refund for the salad, I was told they couldn't refund it simply because I didn't like it. That was frustrating, especially since I had barely eaten it because it tasted spoiled. Having worked in several restaurants myself, I've always been taught that if a customer is unhappy with a meal and hasn't eaten it, the restaurant should either replace the dish or remove it from the bill. Overall, the service and food quality were both disappointing, and we won't be returning.

Have been to Steam Distillery now on multiple occasions since they opened and continue to hope that service time will improve. The Lemongrass Collins is my absolute favorite cocktail on their menu, its just unfortunate that the service is extremely slow. There is typically only 1 or 2 employees handling the entire space and since the drinks are all crafted, between waiting to get your order taken and then waiting for the drinks to arrive, you're looking at 15 to 20 minutes. For the first time of these visits, we made reservations for the now reservation only Sunday menu. Reservation was at 4 and you had to place your order at the time of making your reservation days ahead. We didnt get our meals until 445. While the menu and presentation were amazing, the taste was not there. Lobster was very overcooked and lacked flavor in the seasoning, prime rib cut was impressive at 16oz but was cooked perfect and thankfully was served with some type of horseradish cream. The potatoes were stated as being a mashed potatoe type but we're not a mash in my opinion at all. It was a half super chunky scoop with the sour cream and butter kind of hidden in the middle.

The place is lively and fun, but not rowdy (at least not when we were there). It has a nice relaxed and casual vibe. They have several pool tables, pinball, electronic darts, and slots. The food is the usual bar food - burgers, fish & chips, corn dogs, etc and it was pretty good. Now the bar.. it reminds me of the bars I grew up in back in Buffalo, it's just a small town watering hole and it might not be much to look at on the outside.. but it's on the inside where the magic happens. There's Oregon lottery machines, pool tables, dart boards and shuffleboard. The drinks are cheap and cold, the hospitality is heart warming and the food is delicious. Sean, the owner, greeted us and showed us where we could park. We had a couple of ice cold beers and a couple of great sandwiches, patty melt (pictured) and s grilled cheese. Thank you Sean for your hospitality and we hope to see you again.

Hidden gem!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!!!…read moreThe historic charm & modern amenities make this a wonderful spot to stay or just visit & enjoy a cocktail and a bite. We were fortunate enough to stumble upon this unique, beautifully restored & maintained historic home/Inn, the first day we arrived in town. The moment we stepped in, we were welcomed by the owner (Becky) & manager (Charlie) who not only showed us a few of the beautiful guest rooms, but also shared the story of the McCullys house, which is quite interesting... just the original well on the property, alone. My hubby & I enjoyed lunch & a couple of cocktails in the main dining area on one of their soft velvet cozy, comfy loveseats, while looking out to the beautiful brick patio and outdoor fireplace. Their clam chowder is the best I have ever had!!! It's chuck full of clams (and some potato) with thyme. They have many signature cocktails to choose from. The gin&tonic was esp refreshing on a hot day. Justin, our server was wonderful & so much fun to chat with. We went back the following night, with friends for dinner & had another fabulous experience!!!! Thank you Charlie, Becky & Justin!!!!!

Chef Nat Borsi's modern Mediterranean haven is a testament to substance over style, a place where "farm-to-table" isn't a marketing slogan but a palpable ethos. The menu, which deftly avoids the trap of being overextended, delivers singular triumphs. The Mushroom Bolognese is a masterclass in vegetarian depth, a richly savory ragout that satisfies on a primal level. The house-made pastas shine; the Lamb Bucatini offers meaty, soulful complexity, while the Seafood Pasta is a testament to the pristine ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. For the carnivore, the Roasted Chicken is a beautifully simple, perfectly executed dish that speaks to the kitchen's bedrock technique. With service that is as warm as the intimate, welcoming ambiance, Cocorico is not just a meal-it's a cornerstone of the Ashland dining experience.

Our table was in their patio space, which I actually like better than the indoor part of the restaurant. The patio space feels very open and has a lot of live plants in the planters that make space between tables. It was a little warm on the patio since it was 98 degrees outside, but they keep it relatively cool on this mostly enclosed patio. Our server was great. She was so friendly and fun to talk to. She helped us figure out what we wanted to order and checked in on us just the right amount. You can tell the food here is very fresh and homemade. We started with the Deviled Eggs, which are really special. I love how they serve them over a bed of crushed up potato chips as they give this dish some salty crunch. Next we had the Beet salad, which is marinated beets over a whipped cheese. The beets do have a strong vinegar flavor, but it's balanced out beautifully by the cheese. My wife ordered the Mushroom Bolognese, which was probably the best dish of the evening. This is an incredible, vegetarian dish that is so meaty without any meat. The finely diced mushroom sauce is so good along with the handmade noodles. Also, adding burrata to it gives it a perfect creaminess. I ordered the pork chop, which was also excellent and enormous. It did take me a lot longer to eat since it was a little hard to cut, the compote on top added a great sweetness, but I feel like it could've used more. Also, the polenta and grilled asparagus was awesome. Lastly, we got the Rice Pudding for dessert. It comes with a hazelnut crumble and a dolce de leche sauce. Normally, I feel like rice pudding has a kind of thin, milky consistency, but not this. It is think and has a wonderful texture. It is probably the best rice pudding I've ever had. The nuts give a satisfying crunch and the dolce de leche sauce is light and sweet. Disclaimer: we did order one dish we really didn't like. It was a special salad with endives and lentils. The server was happy to get us another dish.
