    Cute puppy I took in.

    Made my cute adorable puppy so ugly. She looks awful. Botched all over. Did not follow any of my instructions. Thank goodness the hair will grow back. I am not happy. And they charged me over $100! Also they never asked for her vaccinations. This should have been a big red flag. I do not recommend. This was her first cut and I can't believe what they did to her. Posting before and after pics so you can see how horrific their work is. Ugggh!

    I would give Lucky's a trillion stars if I could. My dog is 16 years old and I have been to at least 5 groomers before I found Lucky's. Not only did Jenny give my dog the best haircut ever, but my dog loves her and it made it less stressful for me to leave such an old dog. Also, my dog gets stopped daily and gets compliments, everyone thinks she is a puppy because of the puppy cut Jenny gives her. It's like winning the lottery to find a great groomer who also is caring, gentle, and has a great heart. I feel so grateful to Jenny for all she does to make my dog more beautiful and comfortable. BEST groomer ever!!

    DO NOT GO HERE! This might be the worst service I have ever experienced for a place that I had high hopes for. I had walked by the storefront one morning and decided to peek inside. I spoke to the congenial front desk person who gave me a rundown of their services and said that they have a First-Time Customer reduced rate. I called to schedule an appointment for noon. The morning of, I got a call the day of to tell us that they need to move our appointment earlier because the store was closing early that day. We were accommodating and agreed to come earlier. We gave our instructions for how we wanted our miniature poodle's cut to look - A teddy bear cut. Pretty standard for the breed and all groomers should know it. After dropping him off and they started to work on him, they discovered some matting. The front desk person called to ask if they should de-mat under his ears for an additional fee. We said "yes" to the $30 upcharge. I asked for the total with all of the services. This is when I was informed that there was no "first-time customer" discount. They clearly knew who had given out this information, but now are declining to honor it. The best they could offer was $5 off after several phone calls between the "owner who's on vacation" and the store and me. Frustrated by this bait and switch, we accepted the minimum discount. BUT THEN, they brought out our dog. Nothing, I mean NOTHING was completed as instructed or agreed upon. Instead of de-mating under the ears, they shaved it off. The teddy bear cut was absolutely nothing like instructed. An embarrassment. The body was shaved so close as he made no effort to brush him out. The back of his neck was completely crooked (see below). His tail wasn't brushed or sculpted. It was just bluntly chopped at the end like a person who tried to cut their own bangs. HORRIFIC! And to top it off, the groomer (apparently named Tucker) who butchered our dog had already left (mere minutes after he finished as my wife was there immediately after they called). He clearly fled the scene of the crime! No opportunity for touchups or critiques or customer service. Just destroy our dog's look for weeks and take off. CLEARLY, the staff wanted to end the day early which is the reason they moved the appointment forward and rushed through the job. Please note: We dropped our dog off at 9:30 AM and the original appointment was at noon. REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS on a Thursday. After a back and forth with the remaining staff member about the quality of grooming, the staff member kept claiming the owner was on vacation and couldn't be reached, even though earlier she had said the owner was at the store. Everything about this was atrocious. From the rushed hackjob to the misinformation (intentionally misled) to the overall customer service. I would never recommend this company to anyone! Also, my dog too has been scooting a ton since he got home. He rarely does this.

    Camille is super helpful and made my pup Xiao Xiao's experience there pretty seamless! The groomer came out in the middle of a puppy client to make sure she understood what I needed and communicated with me. Pricing is really good and the play area helps them to get extra energy out after the bath/cut! Definitely going back again! Thank you! Parking isn't the best but if you time it right you can find metered parking right in front of the building.

    We moved to Santa Monica from West Hollywood last year where we had a good dog groomer, and I think Lucky's was the first place we tried when we moved because it was the closest to our house and had good reviews. I guess we got *lucky* because I truly think they are GREAT. Actually even better than the place we used to goto. My dog's haircuts always look perfect and are exactly what I ask for! They're also pretty fast! Thank you.

    They were so caring and my dog received an amazing cut. She is 11 years old and they were amazing !!! Great service and great customer relations !!!

    MY REVIEW TWO WEEKS AFTER MY PUP'S VISITATION. I was so angry with this grooming salon. They shaved my dog even if I told them not to cos we will bring him to a snowy state, IT IS WINTER SEASON and he'll be needing a lot of fur on him! I know my pup is a bit matted (but can still be combed) that's why I asked for their help to untangle some parts. They told me they will check his situation and will call me FIRST before they do anything with him! YES THEY DID CALL ME BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THE RECEPTIONIST KNEW MY DOG WAS SHAVED AF ALREADY. AND HE KEPT SAYING THAT THE LADY GROOMER (JENNY?) WILL TRIM SOME OF THE HAIR ONLY. I KEPT ASKING FOR ASSURANCE THAT THEY WILL NOT SHAVE HIM. But guess what? When we came to pick him up, HE WAS TOTALLY SHAVED. What makes it worse is that the shaving was not even! I was so devastated! Now, he is always freaking cold and shivering that I have to put two jackets/sweaters on him. You guys should have known that it is winter and would not recommend to shave them especially if it is not even needed. You did not even feel sorry for us nor my dog! Instead you blamed us that I don't comb/brush my dog before i give him a bath. (Which is not even true) We are so nice that we paid in full and even gave a tip even if it was not worth it. You guys are not even our regular groomer, and just went to you because our regular groomer was closed that day. So I think this is a lesson learned for me to not trust you ever again and just stick to Sparky's grooming salon.

    Love taking my cat here for a grooming. Friendly, kind people that work here and a cage free facility for the dogs. Highly recommended

The entire process was so intuitive and easy and intelligent-- the intake form on his website, subsequent communications and all questions wonderfully answered. When I finally met him in person, I got to meet his dog that accompanies him, Cali (safely from the cab, in case like our Luna, socializing is not your thing) who was the gentlest, sweetest, most precious girl. Which, note, is very telling about what kind of person Andy is and his ethos for how he treats every dog: so caring, thorough, attentive, responsive, loving, calm, wise, considerate, communicative, joyful. He is truly a beautiful human. Finding Andy and Puppy Love was a gigantic relief. We are beyond grateful. I heartily recommend their services. Luna gives it five paws-- and that is the highest rating in the world. Because she picky. And hilarious. And maybe the best dog ever. Hence why I had to hunt throughout the whole dang city of concerningly-yikes-groomers to find Andy. And he is clearly and totally worth that effort and more.

Coming to Puparazzi was an upgrade in caring and attentive staff. Puparazzi closed with no notice at all (email sent on final day). Not sure what happened, but wish them all, all the best. It used to be well-run under the previous manager, Kirsten, but the quality of care has completely collapsed under the new management. In May 2025, our dog was returned to us with almost all of her food untouched. Initially they tried to give every excuse trying to explain the discrepancy. However after thousands in vet bills, the manager (Nan) eventually admitted she was likely fed the wrong food or not fed at all. We received a refund and were promised better oversight personally from Nan. In September 2025, despite our experience in May, during my wife's medical emergency, we boarded her for one night. She was returned to us yet again with her food untouched. Staff told us she had been fed, but after more health issues, the manager later confirmed on camera that she had not been fed at all. [Email w/ the admission in screenshot] This isn't a one-time mistake. It's clear neglect followed by dishonesty. No responsible pet owner should ever trust this facility again. Complaints have been filed with local authorities for violation of California Health and Safety Code §122383(d).

    DO NOT GO HERE. If I could sue for animal abuse, I would, it seems like my dog has been tortured…read more For context: my dog is 9 years old, 6 pounds, has no teeth, and has had a C-section. She is small, elderly, and vulnerable. She also has no way to protect herself. Since this groom, my dog is shaking, terrified, withdrawn, walking abnormally, and yelps in pain when picked up and pet even gently. She's previously a show dog, has been groomed many times before, and has never had this kind of reaction. Her personality changed from a happy, social dog who loved being held & pet to a fearful, in constant pain, trembling dog. I brought her in with clear instructions and reference photos: do not cut short. Small trim only--even the coat and keep her round. The woman I spoke to appeared to understand. I arrived for pickup and she was shaved down. No call. No consent. Only after I saw what was done did a man at the front say she "had mats" and told me to "come back every month." If matting was the issue, you call the owner before shaving--especially after being told "do not cut short." There were multiple options (spot demat, longer session, reschedule, partial trim). I would have happily paid for whatever extra time was needed to avoid putting my dog through pain. I had my phone on me and I have no missed calls/texts/voicemails from the business. I've been to the vet within the last month for a full checkup and they confirmed she was healthy, happy, and in zero pain pre-groom. I brush her daily, carefully shave her stomach at home to prevent matting, and she's nothing but sweet. I've had Pomeranians before--this isn't my first rodeo. If they're claiming they shaved her because they thought she was "in pain" before, which she wasn't--she is clearly in a lot of pain now. She can barely sit down without wincing in pain. I called my vet and they're having me come in for a check up this week to make sure they didn't hurt her irreversibly. I paid and left because I'm not confrontational and I was in shock. But when I saw her walking outside I knew something was seriously wrong. I got to my car and broke down crying while holding my helpless dog. And on top of that, the grooming itself is genuinely bad: uneven, choppy, rough, and looks rushed, careless. I'll have to trim her myself to make sure it grows in evenly. They offered a refund which I have not received. I would never want this service even if it were free--trauma is lifelong. Before/after photos attached. If you care about your dog's wellbeing, DO NOT GO here under any circumstances. Its a sketchy business, boarded up windows; I chose it because I thought it was a kinder groomer since they say they don't use cages but you can't see where the dogs are groomed so who knows & there's a genuine lack of care or gentleness in their grooming methods. I don't think my dog has smiled since the appointment.
