I finally got around to trying Brasserie Saint Germain today at the end of a summer that kept throwing curveballs my way. All I can say is better late than never, and I look forward to many returns. From the outside, one could easily miss this little spot tucked away in an odd corner, but luckily, I think its reputation precedes itself as the owner is an already established and beloved restaurateur in Ridgefield. I must say that he has truly outdone himself here. Upon stepping inside, you are immediately transported to a cozy, chic French brasserie. The bar, the lounge area, the little street light...it is all so lovely. And everyone is welcoming and warm. For my meal, I ordered the mussels in the saffron sauce, which came with fries and also bread that happened to be warm out of the oven. Everything was delicious, and I enjoyed some wine and a cappuccino as well. I definitely want to try more of the menu which is full of tempting delights. My hunger got the best of me, and I forgot to photograph the food, but I'll include my picture of the lovely interior. I highly recommend Brasserie Saint Germain! Edit to add: The wine list probably has one of the most extensive "by the glass" offerings I've ever seen. Honestly, there's an entire full-sized menu of French wines you can order by the glass. Outstanding!

Brasserie Saint Germain (BSG) is much of the talent from Sucre Sale which had to move from its former location. New location is much better and they completely transformed the interior of the old Yuan restaurant which had always prioritized take-out and eat-in was good but the interior was a bit of an afterthought. Great - Location, Decor, Staff, Menu, Food, and that wine list!! Some of our old favs are still on the menu with some new additions for a revamped menu. The wine list seems.... much larger? what a selection! The decor inside is adorable, hard to believe it from what it used to be, its really a must visit. Location allows for easy walk along main street before or after dinner, love it. Wife's meal was amazing (photo) but fantastic is normal at BSG Good - My Crepe was good with the chicken, but I still prefer the version with the salmon, would be nice if it was swapable. average, poor, bad - nothing in these categories

    Escargot. Yum!

Omg how have I not been here before? I am already planning my next reservation! Started with cocktails - all made very well! Bread came out warm, crunchy, and delish Appetizers: salad (great), escargot (yum), onion soup (meh), oysters (loved) Dinners: fish special (monk fish - superb), lamb special (amazing), cassoulet (great!) Dessert: chocolate ice cream parfait, creme brûlée, profiteroles. All amazing!

    Enjoying Bordeaux and a seltzer.

Our inaugural dining experience was here on New Year's Eve. The ambience was lively and fun. What I imagine a café in France would be like. The food was delicious. It was a price fix menu for the holiday. My seafood cassoulet was excellent and included jumbo shrimp, monkfish and salmon in a white wine leek sauce. Topping it all off was a fantastic baked Alaska. We will certainly go back for a non-holiday dinner, but the busy evening was handled wonderfully by an excellent waiter.

Love the German atmosphere! Love the fresh flowers at every other table. The music is soft and upbeat german music. The wait staff have very authentic German wear and are very friendly! Loved being here felt like home! :-) My son had the french burger with Cheddar, and i had the haddock with fresh veggies and capers with a lemon sauce. For appetizer, we had oyster Rockefeller and the charcuterie board with meat and cheese.

Service was very good and the vibe overall was laid back and enjoyable. Cocktails were very good (loved my old fashioned). We had a bunch of appetizers and everything was pretty good. Loved the grilled seafood appetizer that had an amazing sauce with it. The pea and strawberry salad was good but was overdressed, so it was a little soggy but the flavors were good. My main dish was the short rib tater tot appetizer which was not what I expected (it was four big tots with the short ribs mixed in) but it was still good. We all split a blueberry buckle for dessert and that was amazing. Will definitely go back!

The staff was super friendly and had such positive attitudes making the experience enjoyable. There is a parking lot located to the side of the restaurant where you can easily park. However, I believe there is a two hour limit. If you plan to come for brunch on the weekends, make sure to reserve a table ahead of time because it fills up fast! There was a line out the door as I left. I ordered the southern breakfast with the grits and bacon from the menu, however, they offered plenty of brunch specials as well. The portions are plenty filling, offering generous servings that leave you satisfied without feeling like you need anything extra. I would love to come back and try some of their dinner options.

You wouldn't expect downtown Ridgefield to have a taqueria amongst the upscale shops and math tutors, but guess what? Remember when Hilary was running for president and her opponent threatened there'd be taco trucks on every corner if she won? That wouldn't have bothered me one bit. I'm at a taqueria, I'm going to have some tacos! I ordered three: one with fried shrimp, one with mango and shrimp, and one with chorizo. (We went last week, so I forget the proper names. You'll see them on the menu.) The tortillas are the standard taco size, about 13 cm, so anyone can down a trio with room to spare, if you want an appetizer or dessert. They have table service, so pick a seat, grab or pour a soda or ask for a beer, and get ready. The kitchen is pretty quick, about as quick as eating three delicious tacos will take. The meats were fried or grilled to perfection. The sauces, fruits, and veggies are the perfect temperature and texture. A few Mexican hot sauce bottles are yours to use as you see fit, which this heat hound appreciates. My girlfriend's rice bowl looked great, too, so I'll assume this taqueria can do more than make some awesome tacos. They're space is a little cramped, being on the wrap-around first floor of a building with a staircase in the middle. It's an odd design, and not accessible, but you can blame whoever built this place decades ago. (Fortunately, I think you can get delivery, or a to-go order.) EV drivers take note: there are a whole row of level-2 chargers across the street next to CVS!
