    Ethiopian coffee with rue
    Jen M.

Delightful experience at Lucy Ethiopian Coffee. I ordered a cup of the Ethiopian Coffee with Rue. It is served in a small cup but it comes on a tray with incense, popcorn, sugar, and a little wooden pitcher with more coffee in it. You can get it with or without rue, I'm not sure if it adds flavor to the coffee - the coffee is strong! It was all nice, the flavor is good. I don't normally have sugar in hot coffee but it seemed appropriate to add it to this. The popcorn is nice and a little bit sweet. At $4.99, I feel like this is a great value. I also ordered the fetira with honey. It looks like a tortilla but also is like a pastry. It was very nice. I want to come back and try some other Ethiopian breakfast items on the menu. The space is comfortable and welcoming. The owner is sweet and described the menu items for me. Ethiopian music is playing, not too loud. Had a nice conversation with my friend and I definitely became more talkative as I refilled the small coffee cup! Good stuff! My friend had an Americano, she said it was delicious and had a bit of cinnamon taste. There is a traditional "coffee service" for groups and I will absolutely be coming back to do this.

Meran (forgive me for the spelling) was the one who helped me out today and she was very apologetic and kind. They serve Ethiopian sourced coffee as well as baked goods/sweets. They also have hardy breakfast options such as a cheese omelet or avocado toast. Customer service was lovely, and I just think this spot should have more visitors buzzing in the morning. My iced coffee was so tasty, it's just as good as anywhere else, but better pricing.

Get the coffee ceremony- trust me on this one. From the roasting of the coffee in front of you on an open flame to the incense to the delightful coffee itself, it is quite the experience. You can have up to 6 people in your party. It takes about an hour but is well worth it. Tracey K and I also enjoyed a slice of baklava; a perfect compliment to the coffee. In addition, they have your regular coffee selections here including Cafe mocha, latte, Americano, etc as well as some food selections, both traditional and non-traditional items You can get it to go or hang out here. I'll definitely be back to Lucy's when I need to get my coffee fix!

Roasting our coffee beans for the Ethiopian coffee experience.

My husband and I came to Lucy's on a Saturday morning for the coffee experience. The owner, Berhan, was a delightful hostess. She brought us fresh popcorn and then sat down with us to roast the beans for our coffee. She then did full coffee service and sat and enjoyed coffee with us. We had the baklava, delicious, and enjoyed interesting conversation. I encourage coffee lovers, especially those that like black coffee, to visit Berhan and try her coffee.

My daughter found out this place opened on instagram, so of course, our coffee loving selves had to go check it out! It is convieniently located across the Ethiopian restaurant right off of saddle creek road. There is a parking lot there, so tons of parking! Once you walk in, you can smell the coffee! I ordered an espresso and my daughter ordered a smoothie. We also got some treats for the little guy to eat as well. The espresso was so good! Unlike any other kind of espresso, it tastes as if it has some spices in there to make it taste different. I highly recommend if you come here, to try the espresso! If you want to, you can also experience an authentic Ethiopian coffee ceremony. We didn't do that when we went, but we did see one happening and it seems pretty interesting! We will definitely come back to try it for sure!

Delightful experience. I was not anticipating the popcorn but it was delicious and we ate it all. The coffee was smooth and not bitter. The presentation and care that went into the coffee was nice. Served with the burning sage makes it unique. We want to go back for a breakfast!

Traditional coffee served with a sweet popcorn and incense. Try the baklava

Absolutely the best chai tea latte I've ever had. Wonderful, friendly service, and the cultural experience is remarkable.

The flavors are supposed to mimic the Sonic flavors, but they're kinda bland/flat. I was really looking forward to the coconut flavor of the ocean water, but it wasn't strongly present; neither was the blue raspberry flavor. The cherry limeade presented both cherry and lime flavors, but they were weak/watery, and left a chemically taste in the mouth afterward. Both drinks had the overly strong taste and mouthfeel of artificial sweetener, with that bitter flavor at the end, too. I think the fizz is produced by chemical reaction rather than actual carbonated water, though, because the ocean water wasn't very fizzy and the drink was chalky, just like the magnesium powder you can add to regular water does. It tasted like that, too, in fact--more like the citrus flavor of a magnesium citrate supplement drink mix than the coconut-blue raspberry of a Sonic ocean water. The peanut butter protein balls were pretty good for a mid-day snack, though: you can taste the protein powder, peanut butter, and honey. Not bad. The mini Reese's Pieces were a little treat on top. I might be back to try the shakes, but I wasn't blown away by my first meeting with Nutrition 402.

They have definitely mastered the bowl, and also the aesthetics of the bowl! My typical is the full moon bowl, I absolutely love the vanilla and chocolate coconut!!! it's sweet and a treat and yet it doesn't feel like I just smashed on a milkshake lol, I always feel good after I eat these bowls, even though they definitely are a sugary treat. everything tastes so fresh and the fruit is always up to par, I feel like every bite has exactly what it needs and they have really mastered how to layer it! Something I love is that every time we go in, no matter who is working, the bowls all look the same, and they make sure to teach all of the employees to make the balls identical, which is awesome. My husband loves the peanut butter ever bowl, the basic açai with fruit on top, like I said everything always taste good and the açai is always the perfect amount of cold and soft. We seriously love this place, and everyone who works here is really pleasant. Sometimes the young girls can take a while if their friends are in, but otherwise they are really good about getting the bowls out quick. Definitely hope this place sticks around!!!!!! couldn't recommend it enough, always hit the spot!

I got the Whatever bowl, which allowed me to choose three bases, an extra layer, three fruits, two toppings, and a drizzle. I ended up with Açaí, pitaya, blue majic as the main bases, chia seeds as the bonus base, pineapple, kiwi, and strawberries as the fruit, and cacao nibs, dried mango, and honey to top it all off. It was honestly incredible. I ate this as a meal, but you could definitely spread this out for several treats!
