The layout is great! The bottom floor is a lively bar area known for a massive selection of ales and beers, while the upstairs has more of a dining feel with a larger menu (which is where we sat). We were in a bit of a rush to make our next tour and let the manager, Jay, and our waiter, Chuck, know. They were amazing! Super friendly, incredibly accommodating, and they constantly checked in on us to make sure we got our food quickly without feeling rushed. We ordered the Alaskan Halibut Chowder, Crab Artichoke Dip (literally out of this world), Halibut Fish & Chips with Cajun Fries (the fish was perfectly flaky and the fries had the best kick of spice) and One of their signature beers. It is conveniently located just off the main road and fairly close to the end of town as you're walking back to the ship. It has a super cool old bar type feel. The wooden bar and wooden floor add to the aesthetic. We opted to do two different flights the brewers and the cellars as that gave us a taste of almost all of the beers. If I remember correctly, they do not have food however, they do have a couple of little snack items. We got the smoked candied salmon and it was absolutely delicious super filling, and I would most definitely order that again The beers were all pretty good. None of them particularly stood out to me as a favorite super fast service though and everyone was very nice. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely stop back in and see what's new on tap the next time we're in town.

The matcha latte was not sweet and the young lady who is the barista really knows how to steam the matcha. If the matcha is not steamed correctly, the drink will be bitter. A local recommended the Alaska Commercial Company (ACC) as the place "where rural Alaskans shop." Per their website, ACC operates 37 stores in Alaska with 1000+ employees; we visited the one in Skagway. ACC offers groceries, fresh produce, general merchandise, and specialty items like furniture, electronics, snow machines, and ATVs. Of most interest to us, they were in an easy walking distance from the cruise terminal AND they had a section of over-the-counter medications. Our general impression of ACC was favorable. As mentioned, they stocked pretty much anything that you might need -- at Alaska reasonable prices (meaning that prices are higher than the lower 48 but fair for Alaska). We purchased a generic calcium antacid with 125 tablets for $5.99 (plus $0.30 tax). The aisles were well-stocked, clean, and items were easy to find. The check-out line was relatively short, and moved quickly. The girl who checked us out was sufficiently friendly and efficient. Our item went through at the correct price. There was free parking in front of the store, though we walked from the cruise terminal.

For the cooking demonstration, the chef has someone help him with each dish. For our salad we had edible flowers, which we picked ourselves, I never thought eating flowers would taste that good. The second course was a chowder, which was simply delicious. The third course, which I helped with was a salmon with linguine, personally I thought the sauce was a little too strong for my palate. meanwhile the last course, dessert, was a rhubarb pie. It was my first time trying rhubarb, but certainly not the last. It was amazing, a great experience. Note ... I was the first moose to cook in this kitchen. =] hopefully not the last. (i hope you realize that I am human, I was just accompanied with my moose hat)
