This business makes all the typical coffee drinks you would expect to find from a barista operation where my café Americano was a nicely balanced full body cup of coffee with a nice crema on top. Definitely a superior cup of coffee. The business is tucked away into an alley off the main street that opens up into a open patio seating area adjacent to the coffee shop. Cute little coffee shop tucked in away from Broadway street. At first, I couldn't find it, but eventually I spotted a sign. It is next to Luxury Jewelers. I went for tea and coffee, but wish I would have gotten some of their baked goods. They looked amazing. The coffee was good. The matcha latte was a little bland for me. I like to the matcha taste a little stronger. They have a cute patio seating area. You can also sit inside. There's also clean bathroom available. Service was excellent. read more

Lucy's Bakery has a sign out front that confidently proclaims it serves "the best cinnamon roll of your life." Bold statement. Can I scientifically confirm it? No. That would require a lifetime of cinnamon roll research and a grant from someone who takes pastries very seriously. What I can confirm is that these cinnamon rolls are really, really good. They're warm, soft, gooey, with lots of frosting and they taste like comfort food in a pastry. Maybe it's the cinnamon roll itself. Maybe it's because I just spent a few days on a cruise ship and I was finally back on land. Either way, it's exactly what I wanted that morning. The bakery also serves a fun lineup of coffee drinks. If I remember correctly, I read their syrups are homemade, although don't quote me on that. I was a little distracted by the cinnamon roll the size of a plate sitting in front of me. The shop itself is exactly what you'd hope to find in Skagway. Small, cozy, and full of local charm. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the whole place feels like it's been part of the town forever. Overall, Lucy's has officially joined my personal Skagway dessert itinerary, right alongside Doughboy's fry bread. Apparently every trip to Alaska now requires at least two unnecessary but completely justifiable sweet stops. read more

Stopped in for an afternoon caffeine pick-me-up. It's tucked away, down a corridor and off a courtyard. There was a bit of a line with only two staff, but they moved it along fairly quickly. We ended up getting one of their cinnamon rolls, which were delicious, along with a couple coffees. Didn't take too long to get everything, and we enjoyed sitting in the courtyard to hang out. This is a cute little place in Skagway, kinda hidden away from the main street. The sign outside promises the best cinnamon rolls of your life. I have had a lot of cinnamon rolls in my lifetime and these are definitely not the best of my life. They're decent. My main issue with ours was that it was super doughy in the middle, like it was under cooked. Also, practically like soup in the center. Our friends didn't have soupy centers in theirs so I'm assuming ours was an anomaly. There's a super cute little gift shop inside in addition to the bakery. If you happen to find yourself in Skagway Alaska and are hungry, do yourself a favor and head to Lucy's Bakery. My daughter and I had stopped somewhere else first for breakfast and ended up with an ok "breakfast bowl" and while we were sharing that, Lucy's came up on YELP as having the best cinnamon rolls in town. WHAT!!! We headed right over and just beat a big line of people coming in just after us. We ordered a cinnamon roll, picked the one we wanted AND they heated it up. We also got a few more coffees and noticed that they were selling breakfast tacos, DAMN, we should have headed there in the first place. While we were waiting for our order, I started a conversation with someone who lives in Skagway and they could not say enough good things about Lucy's cupcakes topped with a huge mound of cookie dough! Once or order was up, we took everything and sat outside. There seemed to be a pop-up Labubu shop right across the way. We visited Lucy's on June 2nd during our Alaskan cruise trip. This place was given as a recommendation from one of the servers at the Skagway brewing company. He told us that we hands down had to get one of the cinnamon rolls at Lucy's before we left. So we made the quick little walk to this bakery headed away down a cool tunnel looking alley to get that cinnamon roll. The bakery itself was very cute it had two sections inside and was quite welcoming. The individual behind the cash register I believe was one of the owners and he had nothing but a big smile on his face and was greeting everyone so warmly. He was also quite excited to give out recommendations when we told him it was our first time here. For my caffeinated drink I got there summer latte which had a bit of lavender. It was deliciously silky smooth. The rest of my party just wanted straight up caffeine and got a special shots that work great quality. Now for the main event which was the cinnamon roll. We were so lucky that there were three left. Our group before got two of them and it was the best decision we made. The bread itself was soft with a little bit of a crunch on the outside. The glaze on top was not overly sweet and had such a rich flavor that it truly enhanced the spices within the cinnamon roll itself. We got off the ship very early and was probably one of the first people in this little shop. There was a sign outside that said that they had the best cinnamon rolls and on a cooler day a cinnamon roll sounded perfect. I will say that this is probably one of the best cinnamon rolls that I've ever had to the point where I'm writing this review about a month and a half later. It lives rent-free in my head. I honestly would love to give this place five stars because I want everyone to try their amazing food but unfortunately the staff was not super nice the morning that we went in which kind of made the visit not the greatest. I will say that these people are probably used to very rude cruise goers and tourists so I do give them grace in that regard. Their food was absolutely amazing I also got a Earl Gray scone and took it to go and later enjoyed it with a cup of tea on the boat. The ambiance was great because it was tucked away in a back alley and there were restrooms available but they did ask that you make a small donation which we did. Overall I really cannot stop thinking about how amazing the scone and cinnamon roll were so I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

I will admit that I wasn't sure about this place when we first walked in. But I also wanted to support some local businesses while visiting Skagway. We got a chocolate chip cookie and an apple tart to take with us on the Skagway train. To our surprise, these were some of the best pastries we had on our trip. The chocolate chip cookie was perfectly soft and gooey. The pastry for the apple tart had many flaky layers and really good flavor. I am very picky about baked goods, am so glad we stopped by. There is no other place in Skagway I would rather be a regular at. This is my favorite stop on a morning walk, and I can always expect to be greeted with a kind smile in this quirky little bakery. My wife got fed up with us and took a walk. She ended up at Lucy's and got an orange cranberry scone and a peach tart. She brought them back to us, and OMG you guys, fight immediately over! These baked goods are so DELIRIOUSLY good that they may just have the power to bring world peace. We all went back about 30 minutes later and got a vanilla scone, chocolate chip cookies, and lemon creme cookies. I think I might have cried while eating the vanilla scone on the bench in the grass outside. I will never be the same. Now that I'm home, I've told everyone in my life about these scones and Lucy's.
