I met a friend here last night for dinner.Prior to going to a show. What a delicious experience. . Seafood atop an artichoke heart. Just absolutely perfect.I loved it.It was my dinner.I would order this again and again.

The ambiance at Ludal's is very nice, and a beautiful bar area. The food is nothing more than average at best. Our salads were only mix greens with some shaved carrots. My veal parmesan, and my wife's eggplant rollatini appetizer were good, but nothing special. The problem with our food was they came out luke warm, and was cold half way through the meal. If our server came around to ask "how is everything", I would have complain, but he wasn't seen till well after our meal was over.

I've been coming here a bit more frequently in my experience has changed for the better. The food is always very good and the bartender is a wonderful bartender who is very friendly and makes excellent drinks.

Last night l was hungry all day for seafood. From their menu: "Seafood Risotto Mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp & scallops. Pomodoro truffle sauce, touch of cream" 1 SHRIMP and 1 SMALL SCALLOP in my dinner!!! on a $500 bill. I find the irritating. I don't think l'll be drive 45 min with the family from Old Saybrook to Ludal anytime soon...

Visited last night, Friday 8/15. Place was packed at 7:30, very lively, loud place and BIG room! Ordered a house pinot grigio & a vodka Martini. We ordered all the specials; Buff mozzarella, beet & walnut salad appetizer, Sushi grade tuna over black rice and the panko crusted halibut entree's, and another pinot. All were tasty, the appetizer was probably our favorite. Creme Brulee with fresh strawberries to share for dessert. Our waiter was excellent, I wish I could recall his name! Total bill was about $130 bucks + tip

We took our relatives to this place, close by and my sister in law recommended. Expensive tasteless bland food, huge servings and disappointing meal. Italian food by way of South America. Watery clam sauce with colorless calamari and parsley unevenly cut over top, tomato sauce lacked any flavoring, a jar of Rao's or Paesana sauce better. Chicken cutlet tasted of oil, no seasoning salt or pepper. Just fried with mozz cheese on top, sauce on spaghetti Nothing spectacularly outstanding of the dishes since flavoring was completely missed on all dishes served. $286 later left with doggy bags for cat, for party of 6. If seeking true Italian food, this is not the place. Best thing on the table was the crusty bread.

The server was attentive and personable. The food was amazing. Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu. My boyfriend brought me here because his friends & family kept raving about this restaurant. Definitely exceeded expectations. It's less than a week later and I'm bringing my three nieces in to enjoy so yummy food.

Ludal's on Broadway in North Haven is an unassuming storefront type restaurant. The owners are adept at presenting impressive food, a stunning, clean atmosphere, experienced professional waiters and a spacious lot for parking. The key to their success is consistency. It is a wonderful place to celebrate special occasions with your whole family or just have a romantic, delicious meal for two. Their phenomenal entrées are delicious and plentiful. However, the bread and stupendous chimichurri type spread they serve initially is their signature intoxication. I have suggested this place for many get togethers with my friends. Everyone agrees that the bread and spread were worth the trip before they even have their meals. The Veal Matisse and sword fish dishes were beautifully prepared. The desserts are also incredible. If you are a Mojito aficionado you will love their selection of Mojitos. They are blended and crafted to perfection. Ludal's is a formidable dining experience that will leave you wanting to replicate it sooner than later!

    Short rib with mascarpone risotto

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area! The interior is large with multiple rooms for seating (as well as the bar), though I would still highly recommend making a reservation, as it does get very busy (especially on a weekend night). The food and service are both excellent. To start, they give you homemade sliced bread with a garlic butter spread, which is absolutely amazing. The menu is fairly extensive, and they usually have 2-3 dinner specials as well. I like the short rib, which is served with a mascarpone risotto. For dessert I always order the creme brûlée. The only complaint I have is the parking situation, at least when I went on a Friday night. There is a fairly large parking lot in back, but also a soccer field behind the restaurant, and when I went there was a soccer game going on, so it was very difficult to find a space. Overall I would say Ludal's is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to!

We've been coming here for years. Always great atmosphere, staff is awesome, and food always spot on. Highly recommend a reservation also. The place is poppin and packed with peopl Tonight we had a chicken special app, can't remember the name. The chicken was light and the sauce was tasty next was clams casino always my go to besides the tuna tartare. Always fresh and a scrumptious butter garlic sauce. Dinner was a duck special Hubs had which he says was cooked Percy and the skin was crispy. I enjoyed lobster Ravi which I could not finish! They are light and full of lobster in a delicious lobster reduction sauce. Coconut martinis are a must have here! Lastly our dessert was a Chocolate mousse special which was so light and fluffy we could have eaten 2!

I've been wanting to try Manjares for drinks and a bite since I already know how good their baked goods are for breakfast. Tonight was our chance despite traffic jams on the Parkway and snow drifts that makes parking everywhere in New Haven a treasure hunt. Decor is beautiful, ambiance is chill and relaxing. Very reminiscent of Olea without the downtown hustle and bustle. Menu is small yet carefully curated with something for everyone. We came specifically for potatoes bravas, one of our favorites. Saw it on the menu online but was told it was no longer available. Our server, Tabitha, suggested some Yucca fries which was not on the menu but she made a request to the kitchen for us. They were delicious and honestly if they were in the menu we would've ordered that as well. Fried calamari was seasoned and fried to absolutely tender perfection. The coating was light and crispy. My wife loved the aioli and picked onion combo on it. I preferred the lemon. Both of us decided to get a pasta course, bolognese and carbonara. For a non-Italian place to cook both of these dishes with such perfection blew us away. Flavorful bolognese that wasn't drenched in tomato sauce coated the al dente rigatoni perfectly. The carbonara was rich and savory with a little pepper accented by the guanciale. My wife had issues finishing ir and I suggested taking it home. She then finished it out of spite I believe. For $25 each, the pasta dishes were both satisfying without making you feel so full and bloated that you needed a wheelbarrow to get you back to the car. Plenty of food for even the biggest eater. Well worth the money. The attention to depth of flavors was evident. These were not some thrown together pasta dishes. Our compliments to the chef. Tabitha was great. Her cocktails were fantastic. She was attentive without being intrusive and has a great sense of humor. We are definitely coming back.

He and his lovely wife Ana have created a little haven in the neighborhood. The food was excellent-- my friends and I enjoyed the fried artichoke salad, grilled octopus, crispy calamari, the branzino and the carbonara. Everything came out either with a bright sauce, perfect vegetables or out of the ordinary accompaniments (like pickled onions with the calamari!). Delicious! And our server Tabitha took such good care of us to top it all off! A great start to the weekend.

Not like the in Manhattan , where they serve the mini martinis (always a pet peeve of mine). Service was excellent, we had Jasmin and a good support staff, a local kid. Food was better than expected. We live right outside the city, and we love our food, obsessively. For starters we had some salad, fried calamari, clams with chorizo in a nice broth and a special fried flourettes. All good, clams in broth was my pick for best app. For entrees we had veal chop, pork chop Milanese with salad, linguine with clams, linguine fra Diablo and 2 fish. Portions are huge, we should have shared. We ended with 1 desert to share a molten lava cake with some fancy ice cream. I'm not a big lava guy, but I loved the ice cream. Expresso were delicious too Price was very good. 468 plus tip, with 2 drinks each too. Place was packed and had a good vibe with a friendly atmosphere.
